Walgreens Shopping Scenarios 9/25

by Christie Bisbee on September 24, 2011

Here is my Walgreens Shopping Scenario for 9/25. In this scenario you’d get $50.40 in merchandise, spend $8.15 out of pocket and end up with $10 in Register Rewards. Can you tell me where the walgreens maxi/tampon coupon came from? Where I can find it? Thank you and thanks for your site.

Reply

Susan September 24, 2011 at 8:54 pm

I think you can find it by cosmetic checkout. They usually have coupons there. you can just ask them about it when you go check out.

Reply

Missie September 24, 2011 at 8:51 pm

on another couponing site that i follow, she says that if you use the $5 internet q for the quattro razor, it will not print the RR. anyone know anything about this? M

Glad you asked! I worried about that, too, but tried it out. I just got done shopping this week’s sales at the 24 hr. Walgreens. The $5 printable coupon for the Schick Quattro razor (both the men’s and women’s razor) DID work and the RR printed out without any problems at all.

Rie September 25, 2011 at 1:05 pm

thanks for sharing =)

The $5 coupons worked just fine for me too! I used three of them in different transactions and I got my RR for all of them 🙂

Reply

jessy September 24, 2011 at 9:04 pm

I read too, that the RR may be coded the same as the coupon, causing the coupon not to print.
i guess no one will know until someone tries it… so if anyone does, please let us know!

i have to work @ 3am tonight, otherwise i’d be very tempted to go to the 24 hr walgreens to cash in on these deals….

regardless, i plan to be there @ 8am when my closest one opens 😉

This is BEAUTIFUL! I had all of my Qs ready
and was just about to sit to figure out my
transactions when this popped up! Thank you!!

anyone try the quattro deal yet? i know some places start the ad specials on saturday night. I hope it works out!

LFmom September 24, 2011 at 10:21 pm

Does anyone know if you can buy a Men’s AND Women’s Schick Razor in the same transaction and get RR for each?

I know if I would purchase two of the exact same items (like two Men’s Schick Razors) only one RR would print.

Thanks in advance!

Reply

Lorrie September 24, 2011 at 10:50 pm

They are from the same company so I’m about 99% sure you won’t get 2 rr’s

Reply

ali September 24, 2011 at 10:55 pm

No, when they are the same deal with the same RR, you have to separate them. Ugh, I know. 🙁

Reply

rrashelle September 25, 2011 at 12:03 am

The W brand coupon came from a small coupon book that was out in Feb. Or March. It had 5 different coupons in it. I just used a toilet paper coupon from it tonight and I had to give them the coupon for it because the coupon starts with a 5 and it came off as a mfg coupon not a wags one. Even though there is no address to send it to or anything. Its weird.
Also, on the mens Schick some of the starter razors have a bonus 4 blades and that was ringing up at 8.99 so we should get a RR for it. That’s a nice extra.

Reply

lorrie September 25, 2011 at 12:27 pm

the bonus packs were not giving the RR. I didnt realize i had grabbed that one until no RR came spitting out. 🙁

Reply

Mariah September 25, 2011 at 12:49 pm

I got a RR on the bonus pack today.

I just went to the walgreens a town over because its open 24 hrs and my walgreens is not and they said the new RR don’t start until the morning. Then i asked if i could still get the current weeks RR and they said no those stopped at midnight. I didn’t buy anything, but i’m wondering if they just tell customers that to avoid people coming in at midnight to get the deals. Does anyone know? I should have called before i went…oh well.

Reply

Dawn September 26, 2011 at 10:46 pm

They are not being truthful with you- I went to the 24 hour Walgreens at 11 to get last weeks deals and then waited until 12 ish to do this week’s deals- I’m sure they all switch over at 12:00 a.m. not just certain ones- You should play dumb and buy something small at 12:05 and watch the RR print out and say, oh’- thought you said it didn’t print!! LOL

dropofrain September 25, 2011 at 3:59 am

I just came from the store. Balance bar (cookie dough variety) rang up at $1.50 and I got back $1.60 RR- so it’s a small MM :-). Also, their new October booklet wasn’t activated yet, so my transaction with gum was messed up because cashier took only $.50 off 1 UP2U Pack not $1/2 as coupon said. I didn’t want to make a scene over 50 cents because clerk couldn’t really get what I was trying to explain (2 Wag coupons + manufacturer coupon for the same item was too much).

Reply

carrie September 25, 2011 at 9:01 am

the cashier this mornin’ was nice enough to manually enter Q for gum.2 free

Reply

Beatrice September 26, 2011 at 2:25 am

My cashier was nice enough to do the same here in Southern California.

Reply

Czalinsky September 25, 2011 at 9:04 am

I had the same issue with the Oct. book.. We tried it several different ways and none worked.. Hopefully the book will be active soon…

Reply

Christie September 25, 2011 at 9:53 am

Looks like there is some issue with the coupon for the gum.

I just want to confirm for those who may be NEW that it’s not that you can’t use (2) Walgreens coupons – anyone who has been at this long enough remembers the fabulous Theraflu money maker a couple of years a go with the 2 Wags qs. (Everyone got Theraflu as a stocking stuffer) and even last week we had a 2 Wags Q deal.

So it looks like it’s an issue with either this coupon or the Oct. book itself. 🙁

Reply

Jennifer September 25, 2011 at 11:40 am

I had an issue with the Oct book gum coupon too…but my cashier just manually entered it- 22 packs for free 🙂 I was worried about clearing them out, but they were stocked to the max!

Just so you know, when I shopped tonight and bought the Walgreen’s brand liners, I not only got the $1.50 RR, but I also got a catalina. One catalina was for $1 off of any pads/liners over 28 ct. and the other was for .50 off any liners/pads. If you don’t have the Wags coupon, buy one and you should get a catalina you can use on future transactions.

Also, One A Day vitamins are B1G1 50% off with $1 peelies on them. They are priced $8.99 each (=$13.50) I used those peelies, 2 $2/1 man. coupons, and a $1/1 Wags coupon (booklet by the vitamins) that took off $2. That’s $8 in coupons. Paid $5.50 for 2 boxes (100 ct.), which is fabulous for One-A-Days.

Reply

Mallori September 25, 2011 at 5:07 am

Where did you find the $2/1 mq for the vitamins? I can only find $1/1.. thanks.

Reply

JESSY September 25, 2011 at 5:19 am

I’m not sure if you can use the peelies AND manufacturer’s coupons…

usually peelies ARE manufacturer’s coupons, and you can only use 1 MQ per item
unless of course those peelies were WAGS coupons… which i’ve not seen, but HEY, its walgreens, anything is possible, right 🙂

Mentos gum transaction required a price mod. The Oct book coupon would not go through, luckily I have great manager at my Walgreens who was willing to make the modifications.

Reply

Annie September 25, 2011 at 10:14 am

There is a problem with the gum transaction. It did not accept the coupon from the booklet.

Reply

Shannon September 25, 2011 at 11:04 am

I got 1 womens shick quatro and 1 mens remington king of the shave razor and the total was 9.82 (approx) and I got 2 $5.oo rr and a catalina for a free pack of poise pads!

Reply

aria September 25, 2011 at 11:15 am

I had no problems using the $5 internet schick quattro coupon and still getting the $5RR. Some people were thinking there would be a problem because the two coupons were coded the same. I live in southeast WI. Also, I only got the $6RR back with colgate optic white. Someone else was thinking there was a possibility of getting an additional $2 or $3RR with the colgate. Good, good day today at Walgreens 🙂

Reply

Mirel September 25, 2011 at 11:43 am

Just bought the schick with 4 bonus refills (using $5 IP coupon) and the RR did not print!

Reply

Amanda September 25, 2011 at 11:48 am

Did anyone else try the theraflu deal? I bought two of the therarflu with lipton and used two 2 dollar off coupons and the RR did not print. The manager said the total had to be 10 dollars after coupons.

Reply

Anna September 25, 2011 at 1:24 pm

Same thing happened to me! I bought the same Theraflu (the one pictured in the ad – Lipton Green Tea) and the manager and BA kept telling me it had to be $10 after coupons. I told them no and to please try reringing the 2 boxes without coupons ($10 total). The RR still didn’t print. I know have to waste my postage to send in a form to get the $5 RR.

Reply

Anna September 25, 2011 at 1:25 pm

Oops – meant “now” not “know.” 🙂

Reply

Anna September 25, 2011 at 1:56 pm

Another Anna! 🙂
I did this deal today too, bought 2 Lipton Theraflu and used (2) $2/1 mq the RR did not print so I asked to speak to someone in charge. First she asked me if I used a RR to purchase it i said yes. She said that might be the problem but I told her I also bought the colgate and the RR printed. She told me to do the same thing, return it and purchase it again the RR still didn’t print. She said sometimes since the product is new it won’t be in the system so they won’t trigger the RRs. Luckily she went out of her way to grab two other theraflu products (that have been out for a while) and did the transaction as if I was purchasing it. The RR trigger and she gave me the 5RR.

I also saw in the wag booklet that there’s an ivc for theraflu $1 off 2 packs or 12 packets! Don’t know if they will work, but they do it will be free!

Reply

Beatrice September 26, 2011 at 2:21 am

Tried it at my Wag’s (southern California) and I was told I could not use the Wag’s Q because it was for the packs. BUT I didn’t check to see if the packs were part of the RR deal either. So if they are, you may still get them for free!!! Hmmm, I may have to go back and re-check the sale/tag as I still have coupons! Thanks!

Reply

Amy September 25, 2011 at 1:39 pm

Where do you mail a form about not getting the RR for the Theraflu cause it didn’t work for me either.
Thanks

Reply

Beatrice September 26, 2011 at 2:06 am

Both my sister and I bought the Thera flu this morning w/Q’s and rec’d the $5 RR. It worked in Southern California.

Reply

Beatrice September 26, 2011 at 2:15 am

My Wags (Sothern California) did not include the Therflu w/the Lipton Tea for the RR. There are $3 coupons in today’s inserts for the Lipton Tea Thera flu, $2 Q’s for the other Theraflu. Hope this helps.

dana September 25, 2011 at 12:08 pm

im confused…………..what is the problem with the mentos gum, i want to be prepared when i go in.

Reply

kristi September 25, 2011 at 12:28 pm

Anyone trying to buy 2 theraflu to get the $5 RR Beware that it is not printing if you use coupons UNLESS your total after coupons is 10 or more. The ad does not clarify this so you would need to buy 4 of the theraflu items, not just 2.

Reply

Kim September 25, 2011 at 12:59 pm

Actually I dont think its printing period. Manager at my Wags just to experiment, rang up 2 boxes with no coupons and it still didn’t print.

Reply

Jamie September 25, 2011 at 1:10 pm

Did you buy the Lipton? It didn’t print this morning but the RR did print when I bought two of the liquids

Reply

Beatrice September 26, 2011 at 2:09 am

Hi Kristie. Sorry it didn’t work for you but it worked here in Southern California. Used the $3/2 Q and rec’d the RR.

Quick question: in transaction #3, are you getting a $5RR from Schick AND one from Walgreens? I can’t find any advertisement that says both will print out.

Also, on transaction #2, you have to buy two of the two-packs of gum, making it a much higher OOP cost to start with. It just doesn’t seem like that great of a deal anymore if I’m spending 15.98 on four tubes of toothpaste, minus the $3 in coupons, and the $6 RR that comes out. That’s still almost $6 for four tubes. Maybe I’m misunderstanding the deal, but my store didn’t have the Optic White as single tubes, and only the two-pack was marked for the savings. Should I have gotten the $6RR for the two pack?

Reply

Sue September 25, 2011 at 1:06 pm

Hi Christie, I just want to thank you for putting the comment about extreme couponing. I’m afraid the people clearing shelfs and extreme couponing will ruin it for everyone. Thank you for all your tips, I purchased one of each item and even qualified for the $5 RR when you spend $20 and use your AARP card. Again thank you.

Reply

Candice September 25, 2011 at 1:12 pm

My store did not have the 4 oz tubes of optic white either, but my night manager broke open the two packs and allowed me to purchase them that way since essentially it was the same price, but allowed me to use 2 coupons and receive the RR. I had an AWESOME night at Wags last night!!

Lindsay September 25, 2011 at 1:21 pm

Just a quick tip if you ordered the free 8X10 collage this week- I didn’t pick mine up until I went this morning to do my deals- and I was able to use it as a filler item so I could use another manufacturer coupon (I used a RR)!

Reply

Lindsay S. September 25, 2011 at 1:35 pm

I just got back from doing a bunch of transactions at a few Walgreens and everything went so smoothly!! I used three of the Schick coupons for different transactions, and they all worked perfectly and gave me my RR! I also loved the cute Halloween cups that ended up being $0.13 – so adorable! I ended up with $104.00 worth of stuff for $8.41! Such a great day!! Also, if you buy the W brand maxi pads for $2, you get the $2RR AND you sometimes get a coupon for $0.50 off of any W brand pads! I reworked a few of my transactions to use these each time I got them and saved a little extra money that I didn’t expect. Awesome! 🙂

Carolina September 25, 2011 at 2:04 pm

I went to my W this morning and the cashier didnt let me use the gum q that us in the October book. She said that is she combine all the qs the transaction will give a negative amount and she couldnt allow that. so no gum fir me 🙁

Reply

chrystal September 25, 2011 at 8:54 pm

In reference to transaction #3, I didn’t think you could pay with RRs for items that will generate RRs, no matter the product. Please explain if I am wrong. Thanks!!

So excited today with my Walgreens scenario. This was largely due to a WONDERFUL cashier at one of my Walgreens. #1 – Schick Trimmer/Razor (on sales for 8.99), two fillers, used 5.00 coupon and 5RR I had from last visiit. Got 5RR. #2 – I did a Schick Trimmer/Razor (on sale for 8.99) and had two fillers, used 5.00 Schick coupon, paid with 5.00 RR from #1 and oop was 40cents and got a 5.00 RR. #3 – Got Zarbees on sale for 5.99 and used 1.00 coupon, one filler, used 5 RR from #2. oop was 98 cents. #4 – 2 Theraflu (not the Lipton one)at 2/$10, used 3.00 coupon and a filler, used 5RR from #3, oop was 1.22. #5 – 2 Theraflu at 2/$10, filler, used two theraflu $2 coupons, used 5RR from #4. oop 1.42. Got 5RR. Total oop was 3.58 and left there with a 5RR so basically made money on purchase of $69.32! (I hope I wrote it all down here right so that you can see the transactions the way they happened) This was my first try at so many transactions and was so exciting. Now we are stocked up for colds and flu season for FREE! Yay! Thanks for all of your information and posts!

I’ve learned from the master herself, you! I just gave myself a PHD in Wags as not only did the light bulb go on Sat nite (how I was able to sleep is beyond me) but the WHOLE CHANDELIER lit up! Especially with THIS WEEK’s AD. I think I’m still hyperventilating from this morning’s shopping trip. I had to refrain/restrain myself otherwise I’d still be rollin, rollin, rollin down the RR river, I mean store! Kudos girl! You are BRILLIANT!

Hi, I just went to walgreens. N there were a stack of $2 off Relvon Colorblast lip gloss manufactor coupons right next to the display of Relvon. The Relvon ColorBlast is $6.99 BOGO 1/2 off. Plus I have my $2 off Walgreens in store coupon the I got in the paper a while back that expires on 9/30/2011. So I brought 2 $6.99 + $3.50=$10.49
$10.49-2/$2off manufactor coupons and my $2 off in store coupon which took off $4. So I paid $2.49 plus tax. For Two!!!!

Jill September 28, 2011 at 11:31 pm

The UP2U deal sounds awesome but it DOESN”T WORK. If you read the fine print on the walgreens coupon book coupon it says NOT VALID WITH ANY OTHER OFFER so it wouldn’t go through along with the in ad Q. So, 50 cents a pack was as cheap as I could get the gum in Moorhead, MN. 😛 Bummer. I know you say “it’s not that you CAN”T use 2 walgreens coupons” but the writing did clearly say not valid with any other offer right on the walgreens coupon book coupon…..
