Show Us Your Shops Week of 5/29

by Christie Bisbee on June 3, 2011

I haven’t done this is a very long time but I thought I’d go ahead and post a picture of my shop and what I bought this week. My fillers (the Gelatin) are missing because I donated them.

I got $90 worth of goodies (or more like $110 before clearance prices). I paid $1.22 out of pocket, started with $38.50 in Register Rewards and ended up with $32.98 in Register Rewards and a $10.47 Mail In Rebate. So they paid ME $3.73 to take all of this home! 🙂

If you’d like to share your shop for the week please feel free to put in a link to your shop using the linky below. Please only link to your post with your Walgreens shop or to a picture with your shop. Any links to other weird random stuff will be deleted. 😉

You can also click on “MORE” below the linky to see my Transactions if you are interested.

So how did you do this week?

That is sooo awesome!!!! How much do you think I will have to spend on my very first shopping trip to add up some extra care bucks. Right now I don’t have any but I’m hoping I will after my shopping trip this week!

shawna June 3, 2011 at 9:02 pm

btw when did you do this shopping trip?

Reply

Christie June 3, 2011 at 10:22 pm

It was more than one trip. The first two were Sunday/Monday, the rest were later in the week. So actually 4 trips.

The first two were Sunday/Monday, the rest were later in the week. So actually 4 trips, different stores. As you can imagine writing this blog I visit a lot of different Walgreens and make lots of visits in a week. I don’t shop on every visit though.

Is that your total not including tax? Cause even when I get my total way down .35 cents or so I still end up paying around a dollar or so because of tax.

Reply

Christie June 3, 2011 at 10:05 pm

Katie – I don’t include tax because tax is different everywhere. Some states don’t even have sales tax. So that will depend on what city and state you live in.

So what is the trick to finding the stuff actually in stock. Every time there is a hot deal like the b1g1 right guard I never find it in. It gets to be frustrating. I don’t have one in my town so I can’t go first thing sunday morning cause of church.

If your store starts sales on Saturday go then! My store starts Saturday evening so I can pick up sale prices then before they get looted 🙂 (You can’t get RR deals or deals that require the in-ad Qs though)

Ask your store when their truck comes in. I go the afternoon or the following morning after the truck comes each week, this way they have stock in and its not crazy busy like sunday

kiapita June 3, 2011 at 9:31 pm

I’ve only found one Garnier on clearance at each store. Wish there was a way to combine purchases across stores 🙂

I had a great shopping trip at Walgreen’s today! I can’t stop talking about it. First I went to Target and did really well there (but that’s a different blog, right? LOL) Anyway, I planned to buy the Degree Deodorant on the 4/$15 deal with $5 register rewards, but I saw that the Clinical Strength was on 3/$18 with RR for $6. So, I pulled out 2 B1G1 free coupons… which covered them up to $6. Then I bought two of the Tylenol Precise which have not been on our shelves all last month. Well, they were on sale for $5.99, so with my $5 coupon, I was happy to get them for $0.99 each. 2 candy bars to make the kids happy, and $10 RR from a previous trip, I spent $7.84, Saved $47.82, and have $6 towards my next trip! I know that the Men’s regular deodorant is a cheaper deal, but my husband really needs the Clinical for work, so getting them for $1.50 was super awesome for me!!!

Tracey June 3, 2011 at 10:10 pm

OH! I forgot to add that I actually bought 4 Degree Clinical even though the sale and RR were 3/$18 cause I wanted to use 2 B1G1… $24 for 4, with $12 in coupons and $6 back for next time…

I don’t have a blog setup yet, but here’s my WAGS deal this week (keep in mind this is my first attempt at couponing in several years, so I’m a little rusty)
1 Band-Aid bandaids 20ct 3.79
1 Neosporin Kids Foam 4.99
1 J&J First Aid Kit 4.99
3 Nexcare bandages 3.49
2 A&H Toothpaste 3.99
2 Listerine 1L 4.99
Subtotal: $42.20

-3 $1/1 Nexcare
-2 $1/1 Listerine
-1 .75/1 Arm & Hammer toothpaste
-$3.99 (Arm & Hammer BOGO)
-$4.99 (Free J&J First aid kit w/purchase of 2 J&J products)
-$10.47 Nexcare Mail-in Rebate
-$5 Walgreens Rewards Certificate

Grand Total: $12 = 71%savings!

Would have been less, but the computer wouldn’t accept my second $5 Rewards Certificate. I also scored $15 in coupons in the first aid kit.

Awesome! And it looks like the reason the second $5 RR wasn’t accepted was because you purchased 10 items and used “10” coupons. Since the Arm & Hammer B1G1 attaches to 2 items, it counts as 2 coupons. Some of the B1G1 coupons don’t (it depends on how it is coded), but in this case it looks like that must have been the case. Next time just throw in a cheap filler, like $.20 royal gelatin (this week) or a candy bar or something and it should go through fine!

I tried the Garnier clearance today. I bought 2 conditioner and 2 of the shine gel and I didn’t get a RR. 🙁

Awesome! I kind of took this week off Wags, they never have anything in stock if you get there more than 5 minutes after they open and I was getting frustrated. Had to go in to pick up a prescriptioin and I did manage to score some Oscar Mayer Lunchmeat at a good price though. Regular price $3.99, BOGO plus I had coupons for $1/2 so got them each for $2. We go through A LOT of lunchmeat around here so was real happy about that!

I definitely need to learn how to put together the transactions better. I’ve been learning the value of rolling over the RR, and am getting the hang of how that works, but I have done nothing near as impressive as your transactions! I love that in your blog you come up with shopping scenarios. It really helps!

Went to Walgreens yesterday specifically to look for the Garnier, and it was not on clearance. Must be certain locations.

I was so excited to find the walgreens for ace braces….I have tendinitis in my thumb, so I grabbed one of those for $1.00! I can’t remember what all I bought this week, but I ended up spending $28 and saving $55. It was an on the fly trip, so I wasn’t as prepared as I normally am, but I was happy with the $55 savings!

That is awesome! 🙂

Am just wondering, how do you acquire similar good coupons? I’ve been thinking of buying them online but now a days they’re really hard to find and their prices seem to be higher & higher. 🙁

And Much Thanks for all you do. 🙂

It’s so nice to see that you got a max of 2-4 of each item. I saw that one of the other links here showed 10+ boxes of the Ritz crackers and Illy coffee and I think that may have been a bit excessive. Thanks for protecting the reputation of responsible couponers everywhere 🙂
