Nielsen Home Scan is currently accepting a limited number of applications for their homescan program HERE. They have also totally dropped the requirement to have a land line. So a land line is NO longer required!
I have been part of this program for about 7 months now. If you are accepted into the program, you are provided with a hand held scanner that you use to record your purchases. You then transmit your purchases 1x per week by phone, it can be fun for kids to help out too!
You can also get a ton of points just from doing the on-line surveys. They really help boost your totals and the surveys are super short. The longer you are part of the program the more points you’ll get for every activity and the more points you earn when you transmit.
Points are redeemable for all sorts of prizes (Dooney & Bourke purses, Fisher Price Toys, a Nintendo Wii, ipods and more). Plus, every month 15 panel members win $1,000 and every quarter 2 panel members win $20,000! Not everyone will be accepted, and there is usually a waiting period if you are. You can apply HERE. Good Luck 🙂

I signed up the last time you posted this a month ago or so and I just got my scanner in this week. It is so much fun and my kids think of it like its a game or like they are pretending to shop at a store.
I did this a few years ago and they stopped doing it for awhile. It was a GREAT program; I really liked it. I hope they stay afloat this time! 🙂
not taking anyone new in my area ;( (southern calif)
I just signed up! Hope I get to do it!! 🙂 Looks awesome.
They’re not looking for households in Little Rock, bummer!
When I first applied I was told the same thing, but then like 2 months later I got an e-mail that there was an opening. So you may still hear from them. 🙂
signed up for this a few years ago and never got a scanner, I would get things in the mail to call if I was still interested which I did but never got to do it…
Received an e-mail stating I’m a potential panel member, so it looks as though I’ve gotten through the first step 🙂
Thanks! The last time I was going to sign up for it, they needed a landline, which I no longer have.
I’ve been reading about this on a different blog and the reviews are overwhelmingly negative. Everybody is saying they never received anything free, it was way too time consuming to scan and insert the price for EVERYTHING you purchase, and the amount of time it took to accumulate enough points for anything was ridiculous. Anybody else have this type of experience with them in the past?
I have had my scanner for about 6 months and quickly got into the habit of scanning everything. Points start adding up fast.
Cant get the page to load…just getting a blank page
