I am planning to shop tomorrow at Walgreens and I am new to the RR system. I am not new to couponing- just using walgreens. Can I purchase many items in the same transaction if they are all items where I would get RR? Or, do I need to split up all the transactions? Also, I don’t want to be stuck with the RR in case there is nothing to buy next week- can I just use the RR immediately to buy toilet paper and paper towels? Thanks!
If you want to do all your rewards transactions at once, you can. They will print after you finish that transaction. You can then do a second transaction and use those rewards to pay for your paper towels. 🙂

Yes, but just be sure that you only have one of each RR deal in the same transaction. If you buy 2 Crests in the same transaction it will only print 1 RR. Likewise, if you pay for the Crest with a Crest RR, it won’t print a reward, so you have to alternate transactions. Try searching for “scenarios” on Christie’s site to see how she does an excellent job at this. I’ve also got several examples of alternating RRs on my blog under the Walgreens tab.

Does anyone know how the renuzit deal will work in areas with the clipless coupons and walgreens rewards card? I live in Portland, OR.

Hi Elizabeth – tearpads are coupons that you might find throughout the store. They are usually a pad of them on a display and you tear them off.

This was my first experience at Walgreens using RR and I was disappointed to find out that RR are not the same as CVS extra bucks. I bought a pullup and crest toothpaste in transaction #1. Got a 2$ RR and 1.50$ RR. Bought two cottonelle fresh wipes in trasnaction#2. I used two 50 cents off coupons on them. Then I tried to apply the RR received in previous transaction but the system wouldnt accept them since these are marked as manufacturer coupons. Extra care bucks in CVS would have worked like breeze in this situation without having to buy two more items in this transaction to attach 2 MQ and 2 RR coupons.
My Walgreens keeps their tearpads at their registers. They’re somewhat hidden so you you have to ask the staff if they have any.
I had a BIG problem yesterday, and don’t know what went wrong. I am fairly new to Walgreens, so bear with me. I purchased a whole bunch of stuff, and had coupons for most of it. I made sure to have enough items to cover the amount of coupons I used. I also used $15 worth of RR from last week. Well, NO REGISTER REWARDS printed! 🙁 I was supposed to get the Halls one, the Noxema one, the Huggies one, the Nivea one, and the Crest one – $16.50 worth. When I asked the manager why it didn’t print out, he said I can’t use a Manufacturer’s Q and get a RR. I said that I have been doing that everytime, and have never had a problem. (I had the policy with me, but was so mad I couldn’t find it in there saying that I could – does it?) The cashier said it was probably the RR I used to pay with being the same as the ones I would be earning. But I said that none of them were from Halls or Noxema for sure, so I should have at least gotten those even if she was right. The manager REALLY didn’t seem to care and said he hated RR and people would be getting stuff for free if it worked like that which is not allowed! (DUH! Why else would I shop there if I didn’t get this perk at times!!) HELP me! What did I do wrong? And, can I return the stuff now? How do they know what coupons I used to pay me back the right amount? Can you return RR items?? Will they believe me today that none were printed? I know I just asked a LOT of questions, but I want to get it right from now on! Thanks so much!

Call the Catalina company to get your RR. Call corporate and complain as you can see from my first link, Wags advertises, come use your coupon AND get a RR.
Sorry to be so blunt but your manager is a jerk and I’d let them know that. Tell then you want a call back from the district manager and not the store manager. I mean, telling you he “hates” customers like you? Seriously, complain, please!
THANK YOU so much for all of the links! I have to get my hands on an ad that proves that coupons and RR go together. My cashier (we’re old friends by now) felt so bad, and said she can’t believe how some people move up in management and don’t know how anything works! She said she has learned to not go to him with her own questions!!
(After he left, I went back in to get some more Huggies, and used a coupon just to prove to the cashier that it would print out even though I was using a Q. And it did. Hmph!)

I would absolutely return everything. They’ve already sent the coupons to get paid on them so they really should reimburse you everything but with your manager sounds like you might have a problem.
Do you have another store? I know there are some stores where the catalinas have been rigged to not give RR when you use a MQ. This is not the way it’s supposed to be, but know it can happen and even happened to me at one store. Someone has to purposely go in and rig it that way!
