Walgreens Shopping Scenario 5/4

by Christie- on May 3, 2014

Here’s my shopping scenario for 5/4. In this scenario you’ll get $20.27 in merchandise, after sales and coupons you’ll pay $9.02 out of pocket and end up with $7.50 in  Register Rewards. So it’s like you spent $1.52 for all of these items.

IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THESE TRANSACTIONS

-) You can’t have more MQ than items! Blue = MQ
-) You don’t have to do these in one day, just pick up where you left off.
-) I always bring some extra fillers with me to the register, in case of an emergency!

Transaction #1

(1) 25¢ OFF ONE Dawn Ultra (Ets) (zip 77477)
(1) $0.50/1 Pure Silk Shave Cream, exp. 6/30/14 (RP 05/04/14)

You end up with $5 RR  & $2.50 RR so it’s like you’re paying $1.52 for 1 Pink Water, 1 Colgate, 1 Tecnu Gel, 1 Dawn and 1 Pure Silk!

I thought if you use a RR when paying you didn’t get a new RR’s at the end of the transaction.

If you were to purchase the same item that your RR was printed from it will NOT produce another RR for that item. You CAN use your RR to purchase other items that are on RR promotions and it WILL produce the RR for that item.

Great explanation. Also, to my understanding, don’t put 2 identical items (that will get RR) in the same transaction. I’m told the 2nd RR won’t print.
I’m using my points for items today, and keeping RR for next weeks point booster in case some items I may want involves points.

You can use a RR and receive a RR if they are not issued by the same company

Only if it’s for the same product

Register rewards do NOT print if you have digital coupons on card, even if you do seperate transactions! Be careful!

I went to my Walgreens today and they AGAIN told me that they won’t accept the VeriFi coupons (the Colgate coupons). This same Walgreens told me this months ago and I called corporate and they said that isn’t the case. Any help? Does anyone know of other Walgreens that won’t accept the VeriFi printed coupons?

Also…just a head’s up. If you redeem ANY points on a transaction, you can’t earn points. I guess I should have know that, but learned that the hard way. (AKA…the grumpy old woman who checked me out rolled her eyes when I asked why I didn’t get the $3 in points for the Clear Care I bought.)

Oh goodness! That sucks 🙁 And yeah if you use store credit you can’t earn points either.

first, what’s a verifi coupon? Then, did their computer reject it, or the cashier? I once had a coupon and the cashier questioned it, I insisted she scan it, it went through fine. That surprised and embarrassed her.

I’m new to couponing, will you please answer a question for me? Can I stack a manf coupon with a coupon from the Walgreens weekly ad? Thanks for your time!

Just remember you cannot have more coupons than items you are purchasing. Even a RR counts as a manuf. coupon if you are using one towards the purchase.

Hey Christie, I think the 5GUM is on sale for $.99 each (Bonus Buy) and there is a $1/2 coupon in the May booklet. Also there is a $.50 manufacturer coupon good on any ONE (1) pack of 5GUM, so free at the end 🙂

2 questions. If I have a $2RR from a colgate toothpaste from a different week and use it in place of a MC on this deal will I still get $2.50RR? I know that RR from EXACT same products won’t roll but these would be from different weeks, different amounts, different toothpaste.

The second question: If I do this deal with the MC can I still use my $2RR if it is attached to a filler in the same trans?

Thanks in advance. Can’t find any answers or others’ experience online.
