Since culturelle and azo are made by te same company will we be able to roll the RR like this ?

Christie February 3, 2013 at 2:49 am

Hmmm, I didn’t realize they were the same company. I’ll just switch them.

I bought both Azo and Culturelle in the same transaction and got both RRs. So the same mfr thing doesn’t seem to be an issue.

Great – thanks Jen!

They are made by the same company so I was thinking the same thing but this time, instead of printing with Ihealth written on them, they printed with each individual name so there was no problems rolling.

Last time I tried this you could not. YOu could do transaction 1, transaction 3, transaction 2 – just watch your fillers.

Karen; when did this last happen !

There is also a $1 off of one Azo product. I believe it is in the Feminine Care booklet, but I’m not sure because I had previously cut it out. So, can you use the Azo on the Culturelle and vice versa? Or no, you would have to do the third transaction with the Azo and Culturelle?

The azo coupon from that booklet is expired – the other coupons in the book are still valid but not that one.

The Culturelle Q scans for $2 instead of $1. Happened to me four times today and messed me up.

carrie February 3, 2013 at 11:09 am

the culterelle q is automatically takin’$2.off for some reason

Yep I just looked at my reciept and my Culturelle MQ rang up $2 also. And my Sheets strips (mint) rang up $3.19. I was really confused because I had my transaction all planned out so I had to improvise at the register. I’m like Christie though, and I always have some extra fillers in mind or nearby – just in case 🙂

I’m new to couponing and am curious what you mean by”fillers”?

Reply

Christie February 3, 2013 at 2:32 pm

Welcome Shelley!
Fillers are inexpensive items that you buy so you can use more Register Rewards to pay. So if I have 5 items I want to buy and 5 manufacturers coupons (MQ) that I want to use for those items but I want to pay my balance with several RR I will need to get some fillers (usually items under $.50) for each RR I want to use.

Here’s a page you may want to read, for more information. 🙂

Hi Shelley – at Walgreens you can only use one manufacturers coupon per item purchased, and Register Rewards, or RR (coupons that are good only at Walgreens, I call them “Walgreens Money”) count as manufacturers coupons. So if I buy 5 items, I can use at max 5 manufacturers coupons (abbreviated MQ). 2 items = 2 MQs max. So for example if you bought the Azo Cranberry this week for $9.99 and recieved the $10 RR – in order to use it on the Culturelle and still be able to use the Culturelle $1 MQ, I would need to purchase an inexpensive item in the same transaction. We call that small inexpensive item a “filler.” So when you buy the Culturelle you also buy a Valentines day gift sack…Culturelle + giftsack = 2 items, can use 2 MQs – the $1 culturelle MQ and the $10 Azo RR from the previous transaction. Your total before tax also cannot be less than $0.00 at Walgreens. So if I had a $10 Register Reward and wanted to buy an item that cost $9.50, theoretically they could change the coupon to $9.50 (which is a whole other story about proper training of Walgreens cashiers) or I could avoid the problem and buy another small item for $0.50 or more. Technically the second wouldn’t really be considered a “filler” but I use it the same way – it’s an inexpensive item that you buy in order to be able to use a manufacturer coupon without problems. Hope that helps!

Thank you, Christie, for all the helpful info on this blog. One question: if I buy a Culturelle, for example, and get an RR, if I buy another one later using my same Walgreens card, will I get another RR? Or do they have limits so that the system will know I already bought one?
Thank you!

Reply

Christie February 3, 2013 at 2:29 pm

You’ll get another one as long as you don’t use the $10 RR from the same product (in this case Culturelle) to pay. 🙂

I went to walgreens this morning in Oregon and tried the culturelle deal and the coupon beeped. They told me I could not use a coupon on a free item. Bummer.

Reply

Marianne February 3, 2013 at 5:38 pm

That’s strange– I used the coupon and it went fine.

Thank you, Christie, for your response to my question above!

Hi, in transaction #2 your total was 0.28 so how can you do this? my store does not allow me to use coupons that will decrease the total to less than a dollar before taxes!!! the machine always peeps and refuses to take the last coupon introduces to the cashier!! and they always explain that by saying that they cannot allow the total to be less than a dollar before taxes… I was wondering does anyone have this problem too?

Reply

Christie February 4, 2013 at 1:34 pm

The .28 is before taxes. 🙂

Reply

Norma February 4, 2013 at 2:58 am

I never have that problem. You may need a filler instead and they are just telling you that. A lot of mine are $.14 and $.97, etc…

I have a manufacture coupon for “save$1 on two items”. Will this be counted as two manufacture coupons because it’s for two items?

Reply

Jen D. February 4, 2013 at 3:43 pm

Generally yes – a $/2 will “attach” to 2 items There are occassional exceptions but you will almost always need to plan for it to count as 2 MQs agains 2 items.

Reply

Ashley February 7, 2013 at 10:19 am

Hey Rose, It’s actually a $1 coupon, that scans as $2. It’s towards the back of the book, I think it’s one of the first coupons when the coupons “Start”.
