by Christie Bisbee on December 10, 2011

Here are my Walgreens Shopping Scenarios for 12/11. I have one scenario for those of you who want to do small transactions and another where you do just one transaction and get $5 in Jingle Cash.

SCENARIO #1:  Get $23.10 in merchandise, spend $6.10 out of pocket and end up with $3 in Register Rewards. So, it’s like you are paying $3.10 for everything!

Hello Christie, Thank you for your deal scenarios. You have helped my family and I to save lots of money. I have a quick question for you. This is my first time working with the Jingle Cash. I have $5 Jingle Cash from this past week. How can I work it into this deal? Thanks

Hello Christie
I was wondering can I use my Jingle Cash from last week on this big deal or will it prevent another jingle cash from printing?

I used my $5 jingle cash from last week on my purchase today and I did not get a new jungle cash. I spent just over $30 before coupons, $18 after coupons (including jingle cash). My worry was that the $30 minimum required to use the jingle cash was AFTER coupons. Thankfully it wasn’t, it was the total BEFORE coupons.

If I use the $5 in Jingle Cash from last week in your big scenario, will another $5 Jingle Cash print? Does anyone know?

I’ve been wondering the same thing. It seems like no one knows the answer.

We won’t know for sure until tomorrow. Last year the Jingle Cash didn’t prevent another from printing. However first it was treated like a MQ and then at some point it was treated like a Wags Q (so you’d need to spend $35 if you were using JC to get another $5 JC to print). We’ll see what it does tomorrow!

I missed getting to Walgreens today to get some more sweetarts for work since I only had a change to do the rolling over for one transaction last week…anyone know if the candy will still be on sale and prompting the catalinas to print? Wish I could add those to these transactions…

The sale signs had been taken down at my store.

Any good ideas on how to use the $5 Hershey RR from last week?

I spent over $50 on decorations and toys Friday. But I used two in ad coupons that brought my total down to about $48. My jingle cash only printed as if I had spent $30, not $50. any clue why? The cashier said it was because of the coupons and the rules do say “after ivcs” which are wags coupons.
you say after wags coupons? are the ad coupons not included in that? I had no manufacturer coupons at all.

If your total was $48 after Wags coupons (the in ad coupons are Walgreens coupons) then you would not qualify for $50. You would need to be over $50 after all Walgreens coupons.

In Des Moines, the Goody hairclips were ringing up $3.49 and not printing a register reward! The manager was able to give them to me for $2 but wouldn’t give me the RR. Just wondering if others were running into the same issue.

Anna December 11, 2011 at 3:41 pm

@ Sara – the same thing happened to me. The hairclips (those pictured in the ad) weren’t working – they aren’t ringing up at the $2 sale price and no $2 RR printed. There were some Goody hair ties that were ringing up at the sale price and did produce a $2 RR so I just bought those. Also, I used my $5 JC from last week on my one transaction and received a new $10 JC to use next week.

I ran into the same problem at my Walgreens. The manager said that the $3.49 ones were not the correct ones. He said the ones that ring up for $2 are just a bit smaller. I’d buy the hair ties though if I knew which ones were ringing up for $2. Could you describe them please Anna? Also, I was not able to find Maalox that cost $3.99 at my Wags…

Peeps coupon tells me it is over…I knew I should have printed days ago. Oh well!

You are right, there are two sizes of Goody claw clips that are the same colors (black, clear, tortoise) as the ad. They also cost the same, but only the littlest ones produce the RR. My store didn’t have any of the slides:(

Has anyone had a problem using the $5/2 Thermacare/Advil coupon. Mines would not scan and I had my husband print one and the same thing happened to him. It required manager approval and the assistant manager on duty was not happy he had to override the transactions twice.

I tried the deals you mentioned above, but my store here in Missoula Mt will not take the coupon for the advil/therma care. They said something about the bar code not scanning and they would not get the credit for it. so that deal did not work, but I did the other and that worked out great. Thanks for your help

The Sweet Tarts deal is no more. The $1/6 catalina still prints but you won’t get them for next to nothing like last week- even with the Dec. IVC. 🙁

Was there a coupon for the bausch and lomb contact solution?

The Advil/Thermacare coupon caused a problem for me too. My cashier forced it through, but mentioned that she had just gotten in trouble for doing that the other day. Hope she doesn’t get fired or anything!

Also, in my store, the Advil Infant’s drops are priced at $5.99, not $6.99. So, if you do that deal with 2 bottles of them instead of 1 of each or 2 bottles of Children’s, it’s even better! Plus, I had a $1.00/1 Advil Children’s product Catalina print out when I purchased the two products together. Did this deal twice & got the Catalina both times. This is my favorite deal this week. 🙂 It’s something we’ll actually USE! LOL
