Walgreens Shopping Scenarios 7/24

by Christie Bisbee on July 23, 2011

I went a little crazy today and created a Walgreens Shopping Scenario for 7/24 with up to 5 Transactions! You don’t have to do all of them and you certainly don’t have to do them all in one day.

In this scenario you’d get $38.78 in merchandise, spend $4.88 out of pocket and end up with $1 in Register Rewards. So, it’s like you are paying $3.88 for everything, or about 90% off. πŸ™‚

Transaction number #4 is if the Pro-Health for me is part of the deal. After checking with my store I’m 95% sure it will be included but this is Walgreens so you never know!

In the last transaction #4 the twizzlers say (2) Twizzlers but the coupon is $1/3? Is this ok to use?

Deborah – The coupons lists (3) amounts. Some areas got a $1/3 but many got $.75/1 or $.50/1. I did the scenario with $.75/1. If someone got a $.50/1 they can use those instead it will just cost $.50 more. If you got a $1/3 then it may not make sense to use, since you’d have to buy (3).

Christie, THANK YOU for all the work you do for all of us! I appreciate it!
I am rather new to couponing and have a question for you. From what I understand when shopping at Walgreens, you need to have the same number of items as coupons (including RRs). But what about when one coupon is for a quantity of 2? I know I’ve used a B1G1 with a $off/1 coupon, but I also made sure the quantity of items and coupons were the same…
I ask because this evening I purchased 8 items and had 6 coupons, however 2 of the coupons were $off/2. When I tried handing over 2 RRs to pay for my transaction, I was told that I couldn’t use any more manufacturer coupons. I voiced that I thought I could use the same number of coupons as items and she reiterated that two of the coupons were for 4 of the items.
I would have added 2 small items so I didn’t have to pay out of pocket, but she didn’t even suggest it (no suggestive sell there) and a line was forming (I didn’t want to be inconsiderate of others and their time).
Sorry for being so long-winded, but their coupon policy doesn’t specifically address this and I knew you’d be able to help me out! So, was my cashier correct? I’d like to be prepared for next time πŸ™‚
Thank you SO much for your time!

Yes, if a coupon is $/2 or $/3 depending on how the coupon is coded it will attach to either just one item or the # of items the coupon is for.

To make things easier on yourself, just always plan on it attaching to all of them, or bring back up with you to the register when you have that kind of situation. πŸ™‚

I’m not sure, but I think it depends on how the coupon is coded. I’ve had that happen to me before and have added small items.

Do you think the skintimate moisturizing shave cream will be included in the sale?

Reply

Mel July 23, 2011 at 10:03 pm

@Amye Pure Silk is what is listed. FYI, I use both Skintimate & Pure Silk and can not tell a bit of difference.

Mel July 23, 2011 at 10:30 pm

Oops. Re-read Christie’s post. Pure Silk & Skintimate are BOTH on sale.

She says the Skintimate Shave Cream is on sale and has a pic of the Walgreens Coupon. But it looks like there is some confusion based on product size.

So please see that post, b/c I am obviously just posting screwy answers!

Sorry, I blame the 100 degree heat!

My inserts don’t have the pure silk coupons! Bummer. πŸ™

I used to get a big can of the Pure Silk at the Dollar Tree for $1. If you don’t have the coupon or if your Dollar Tree takes coupons, you’ll do better buying it there based on the price per ounce. I haven’t gotten any in a while because I now only use Coochy Brand Shave Cream or Earthly Body’s shave cream. Lasts so much longer than regular shave cream and my legs feel so much smoother! πŸ™‚ My hubby uses it too!

How do you end up paying $4.88 for $38.78 worth of merchandise with a $1 worth of RR?

Reply

Ellie July 24, 2011 at 3:17 pm

Just thought I’d mention there is WAGS cpns with value of 50cents and $1 printing out in addition to the $1.50 RR for the Perfection Tampons. I did 2 transactions and ended up with one each time.

Sarah July 29, 2011 at 1:10 pm

Hey Libby,
I am an employee at walgreens. If your RR still printed then the product IS on sale. Sometimes it is confusing for customers because the products ring up two different prices to equal the sale price. For example, the Scunci hair ties are 2/$3 but they ring up 2.99 and .01. Just take a look at your reciept and if it doesn’t add up either use the ad and talk to the manager. If you can’t find it in the ad (I know it is in this one) show them the tag. Walgreens is ALL about customer service so they should be willing to explain it to you OR fix it if it is incorrect. Hope this helps!

Thanks! I usually post them Saturday evening between 7-9pm. I often work on Saturdays (at my real job!) so it’s hard to do them much earlier unless it’s a slow day at work! πŸ™‚

I found a great deal on Lysol Disinfecting wipes (35ct) when I came across tear pad coupons in Dollar General store, $1/2 any Lysol disinfecting wipes (expires 12/2011). I stacked with monthly RR deal at Walgreens (get $5 RR wyb $15 in Lysol Disinfecting wipes), current ad sale price 2/$5, and I noticed a previous post about a MIR for one free wyb 2, so that’s another $2.50 off!!! Check the shelves, if your fortunate like I was, you may find some Buy 1 Get 1 Free packages still out there. I only found one, but still a great deal, 75 cents each after coupon, MIR, and sale price (64 cents for me with get one free pack).
I don’t live near your area, Christie, but I read your posts and find Wild For Wags coupon match-ups and unadvertised deals save me so much time. Your a lifesaver when it comes to couponing!!! I’m new to this lifestyle and have wanted to give-up so many times due to rude cashiers and cleared shelves (I managed not to clear out any shelves for this Lysol deal) … but I come back to your website and find you make it so simple and easy to use coupons. Thanks so much for all your hard work!!!
