Walgreens Shopping Scenarios 3/6

by Christie Bisbee on March 5, 2011

UPDATE – Some of you lucky ducks are finding the Swiffer products even cheaper at your stores. If they ring up less than what I have listed here you may want to be ready to throw in another Set & refresh or buy (4) of the Swiffer to make sure you hit the $10!

Here is my scenario for 3/6.  In this scenario you would get $32.94 in merchandise. You’d spend $7.45 out of pocket and end up with $3 in Register Rewards. So you are paying $4.45 to buy just under $33 in stuff! That’s about 86% OFF.

IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THESE TRANSACTIONS
-) Blue are manufacturer coupons, Red are store coupons & don’t count in your total.
-) You can’t have more MQ than items!
-) I don’t include
tax in my scenarios because taxes vary dramatically.

I really like your site and all of the time and effort you put into it!

I have a quick question regarding the RR. If I get a P&G RR, will that affect a Gillete RR? I’m not sure if it’s the same brand family. Thanks!

Christie March 5, 2011 at 9:09 pm

Gillette is made by P&G.

Check the spelling of the Swiffer right under transaction #3 — I think it means it’s sad! (It looks like the right spelling in the coupon section.)

Thanks for all of your hard work!

HA! If you saw my Swiffer you might describe it as sad. LOL.

Is there a particular order coupons should be handed to the cashier in the first transaction? And how do you keep what manufacturer coupons can be used with which products straight? I find myself dependent on others to figure this out for me 🙂 BTW, I love your site, I stumbled upon it while Googling.

Tonight I went to a wags thathaf a register machine not too coupon friendly.. I bought two benefiber kiwi packs on clearance for 6.79 each and used the benefiber coupons $7 off 2, and $3 off 1.. But when I gave them the instore coupon for $2 off benefiber stix it beeped! It wouldn’t allow me to get overage. I also had $3 worth of filler items too… But the manager did key in a lower price for one of the benefibers to be $4.79 instead… So I guess its better than nit getting anything.

@xiong,

If you only bought 2 benefibers, you couldn’t use teh $3 off 1 coupon, because you already had a coupon attatched to both of the ones you bought in the $7 off 2.

Swiffer Wet Mopping Refills 12pk are ringing up at $3.74

Kimberly March 6, 2011 at 1:36 pm

Swiffers rang up at $3.74 in northeast NC too:) I used the BOGO and the $.50 off one from last Sunday’s inserts with a $3.99 Downy liquid with $1/1 coupon. Then a $5 RR from last month and paid $3.74 after tax, got back $3 RR!
Thanks Christie for all you do!

So the infant drops are 5.99 and the Childrens are 7.99?

Reply

Lesley March 6, 2011 at 12:34 pm

The Swiffer Wet pads were $3.74 here in N.E. Florida as well. Double check prices to make sure your total is $10 if you want a RR to print. Thanks for the scenarios Christie:)

Has anyone tried the infant drops for pediacare? Not sure if coupon will beep or if I need a filer item for my overage if there is any. If someone did try them how much were they thanks.

When you use a walgreens coupon and a manufacturer’s coupon do you need to get a filler item. Sometimes I get a little confused because I know you can’t use more coupons than items. Can someone help me with that thanks. I would like to try the pediacare infant drops

Christie March 6, 2011 at 2:12 pm

Nancy – If you give the MQ first you will not need a filler. 🙂

The infant pediacare was 5.99 and the childrens was 6.99 at my wags in tampa.

Can you just repeat 1 and 2 several times? I need to stock up on pads and razors…

Christie, thank you so much for all the hard work you do so we dont’ have to!
Our Swiffers were $4.71. Also, I asked the cashier if Sinex $4/1 will work on Nyquil/Dayquil deal and she said Yes. P.S. our Walgreens (we have 2 in town) were out of those Always pad/liners that bring $2RR in the middle of last week. Not sure if they are going to get more.

Coupons available are for the artificial nails and lashes. But, at $3.49, the pedicure kits are still cheap! 🙂

dropofrain March 6, 2011 at 7:15 pm

Kim, I think Christie mentioned somewhere that this coupon was already gone 🙁

it is because if u look at the ad swiffer is 25% off.The 12 ct wet are 3.75 and the 16 count dry 3.75 they do this so u have to buy more to hit the ten requrement. However my store and my near by walmart are sold out before the sale even started!

I tried this scenario at my store. Almost all of my coupons beeped. The Pediacare coupon beeped. I did not get my register rewards for the razors. Had to get a manager for that. And then would not take the .50 cent coupon off of the 2 Swifter products because I used the B1G1 coupon and only had two Swifter products. I was so frustrated and they were SOOO rude to me – told me they don’t even get reimbursed for manu. coupons.

Reply

Christie March 7, 2011 at 2:04 pm

Betsy – Of course they get reimbursed for MQ. I’m sorry but that’s just either complete ignorance or they lied to you.

It sounds like the staff at your store has issues. It sounds like that store might also have the new scanners that just beep at everything. I did the same scenario as did many others. The only thing that should beep is the B1G1 because its the prompt for them to enter the amount. I would call the # on your receipt and do the survey. I’d also call corporate to complain about how rude they were.

I tried transaction #1 and was disappointed I didn’t get the $2 RR. The checker said the coupon cancelled out the RR! Is that right?

Reply

Christie March 7, 2011 at 2:00 pm

No Erin that is not correct. If you purchased the correct Always product you should have gotten the $2 RR. I did the exact same scenario as did many others and had no issues. You can read my post here on how to contact Catalina.
