Sinex is Rolling!

by Christie Bisbee on November 1, 2010

NEWS FLASH – Several of you have e-mailed me to let me know that the $5 Register Reward for Vicks Sinex is Rolling! 🙂

I haven’t had a chance to try it yet but that’s great news! For those of you unfamiliar with this term, it means you can use a $5 RR for Sinex to purchase another (2) Sinex products and another $5 Register Reward will print!

Of course we don’t know how long this will last and it could end at anytime but it’ll be great while it lasts!

(Thanks to everyone who e-mailed!)

I got into a nice little fight today because I did 2 transactions – both containing Sinex medicine and one also had that cold medicine that was free after RR. None of them printed. It was obvious that their machine wasn’t working or something. She tried to tell me it was because I used RR to pay for it. I always make very sure that I am never trying to roll them just in case they don’t roll. Needless to say, I ended up paying about 9 dollars and walked out with almost $17 in cash because she couldn’t think of any other way to handle it 😉 I still have lots more coupons for the Sinex so I will be trying to roll them!

Sarah, did you do the Sinex deal first and then used the $5RR for the Zarbee’s children cough syrup (or vice versa) and the RRs didn’t print? I’ve already did the Zarbee’s deal and have $6RR and was thinking about doing the Sinex deal later this week. I’ve always thought that as long as it’s different companies, then the RRs would print. But last month I tried to exchange RRs from Biore for Jergen’s and the RRs didn’t print. The manager told me it was because they were in the same “type” of products. INot sure if the problem was because Biore & Jergens are from the same company or they’re both lotions (same type) so the RRs didn’t print.

I’m a bit hesitant to exchange my Zarbee’s RRs for the Sinex’s now since both are medicine. Any advice is appreciated.

My first transaction had the Zarbees & the Sinex in it. I used some colgate rr from previous transactions and nothing printed. The cashier then rang the Zarbees up separately and nothing printed. It had to be that the machine was jammed. I don’t think there should ever be an issue paying with RR that have nothing to do with the deal that you are buying.

My second transaction had just the sinex in it and I used a dollar RR from the purex deal a few weeks back and it didn’t print either

Sounds like there was a problem with their printer… we were at a Wags today and their RRs weren’t printing either.. but low and behold it was because the printer was turning itself off. Went to a diff register and they printed fine.

The Biore and Jergens were in the same ‘deal’ (buy two get $5 RR), thats why you couldnt reuse RR from one for the other. The RR for buying both would be from the same manf and read the same.

That’s what I tried to tell the cashier..asked if we should go to another register and she refused. I was more than happy to get the cash and not have to worry about having to use more RR before they expired 🙂 I have some more Sinex coupons which I will probably go to a different Walgreens to use. Don’t want to risk having to deal with that scenario again! It took a good 20 minutes with 2 kids screaming.

What do you do if the RR did not print and the cashier said there was nothing she could do about it? Am I just out the $5. RR or is there something else I can do. This is all new to me, so any help would be apprieciated.

Denise – You can always return the items. Also read my post HERE.

Patsy – Yes you would have to buy (2) plus other stuff that totaled over $3. Since after $8 in coupons you’d only owe $2 and be paying with a $5 RR. So buy $3+ in other stuff, use the 2 coupons, the $5 RR and it’s like you get $3 in free stuff every time! 🙂

I have a question: If I roll my RR for the Sinex will I have to have a filler item? I know some Walgreens require you to buy the same number of items as you have coupons for (which in my case would be 3:(2) $4.00/1 coupons and a $5 RR). Also should I just use 1 $4.00/1 coupon since if I use 2 my balance due will be $2.00 and I have a $5.00 RR to pay for it with. What do you guys suggest? I don’t shop as often at Walgreens as I do other places and I’m just not sure how things work there.

Ok, this is my first time “making up” my own scenario based on what I need. Could anyone tell me if this would not work out, and why it wouldn’t? Thanks!

Buy…
4 Secret Deodorants @3.99 ea = $15.96
4 Olay Products @3.74 = $14.96
2 NyQuil Sinex 2/$10 = $10.00
2 Old Spice Body Sprays (no idea their price as they’ll be free w/coupon)
1 ZarBee Cough Syrup = $5.99

total, excluding the body sprays = $46.91

use…
4 $5 off when you buy Secret and Olay (-$20.00)
2 $4 off Sinex (-$8.00)
2 Free Old Spice body spray when you buy 2 Secret Deodorants (exp 11/30)
1 $3 off ZarBee’s (-$3.00)
1 $5 RR from Sinex I did today (-$5.00) It is still rolling, right?

So I’d pay $10.91 OOP and get $5RR, $6RR and $10RR – correct?

My main question is – Can I use the coupons for the Old Spice body sprays and the $5 off Secrets and Olays??? I have more products in my transactions than MQ and RR, so I’m good, right?

Sarah B: thanks for the clarification.
Sarah: Yes, now that I think about it, exchanging Biore’s RRs for Jergen’s didn’t work because they’re from the same company (which I wasn’t aware of).

Will do the Sinex deal on Saturday!

Hate to be a killjoy here, but if you use a Sinux RR to roll into another Sinux deal, you are violating the terms of the all RRs from Proctor & Gamble which state “not valid on P&G products”. The RR terms state that you cannot use ANY P&G RRs on the purchase of ANY P&G products.
Let’s keep our money-saving techniques on the up-and-up so we don’t ruin a good thing, yes?

The sinex coupon also works for dayquil sinus and prints out register reward.
