I went to Wags earlier today, and I followed along this- kinda sorta. I had the transactions with a low subtotal and my cashier told me she thought I was Scamming them! I always shop at that wags and they are always very helpful, but I definitely do not like being told that I’m scamming a store… I just understand the sales, coupons, and RR system! Thanks for letting me vent… lol 🙂

I have been told “It’s people like me that he can’t stand getting things for nothing”. Called corp. reported the story he still works there. I just smile and hand over my coupons don’t let them get to ya. I know all the friends and food pantry I help that I am doing nothing wrong.

Jori – I’ve been lectured how “we don’t give things away for free at Walgreens”, I just smile and nod and said, “oh of course not”. I need to start bringing a video camera with me. LOL. You guys would get a kick out of the stuff that employees say.

My personal favorite is the “you’re committing coupon fraud” bit. I mean, you’d make sure you knew what you were talking about before accusing me of shoplifting or something, but “coupn fraud”?! That term gets thrown around as though it’s nothing. Still, it’s just as bad as staring me straight in the face and calling me a shoplifter.

Where I’m going with this is that most businesses such as walgreens refrain from directly accusing anyone of shoplifting. They are simply instructed to let the person know they are no longer welcome at their store. Walgreens doesn’t want to get sued for slander or some such thing.

But “coupon defrauder?” That term is fine with them. I wonder how long before they realize the liabilility they are creating. Just my 2 cents.

I mostly laugh this sort of thing off believe it or not, but have had these thoughts going around in my head and finally wanted to share.

I’m shocked that employees actually said these things to you! On behalf of the us employees who love saving people money, we’re sorry! At my store something like this would never ever be fine, it’s rude. Sorry!

I have 2 great Wags near me. We must have a good district manager around here.. They are real nice about coupons.

I have 4 Walgreens around me and it’s really the individual cashiers that make or break my day. I’ve learnt their schedules and just go when the nicer and coupon friendly cashiers are on duty. I must admit that I’ve not been accused of coupon fraud, but I’ve been asked if the coupons were legitimate. Duh! Why ask me when I’m bringing them in? I’ve been through more hell in Target, so I’m pretty happy getting my deals in Walgreens, where the computers are more stable, so less arguing with cashiers or wasted time trying to get refunds.

No Schick or nivea coupons here in Central Florida 🙁 Also don’t have the older $1 off Revlon. I feel cheated 🙂

Christie, I have a coupon for $.75 off an act II popcorn and they wouldn’t use it with the 4/$1 coupon that is in the ad. The manager kindof helped me by ringing up the popcorn at $.33 each, so I paid $.56 for 6 and used 2/$.75 coupons. Can they do that?

Technically the coupon policy says they will write down the coupon to the price of the item. So if you go by the policy you would have been able to get (2) FREE Act II popcorn bags and that’s it. They way the manager did it looks like you got them at about $.10 each but you got 6.

At my Walgreens there is a coupon on some of the Schick Hydro Razors to get a FREE Schick Hydro Shaving Cream when you purchase the razor. Look through them all because sometimes they are on the ones at the back of the row.
