Scenario With Register Rewards 8/15

by Christie Bisbee on August 14, 2010

Here is my scenario for someone WITH Register Rewards.

In this scenario you’d spend $.35 out of pocket (OOP), get $37.90 in merchandise, and end up with $5 in Register Rewards. You’ll start off with $10 RR, so it’s like you “paid” $5.35 for everything. You can send in for the Try Me FREE Schick rebate if you haven’t already and get back an additional $7.99 to make it a $2.64 Money Maker! *The Schick Rebate expires 8/18 and must be post marked by that date!

-I didn’t include the Stride until we know if the Stride Shift is included.
-If you have more deodorant coupons by all means buy more deodorant!
– I left the Schick for last in case you didn’t get the coupon in your paper.
– I’ve highlighted the copuons that count in your total in BLUE and those that don’t in RED.
Happy Shoppping! 🙂

I went to Walgreens this evening and I had 2 $2 RR from Kellogs and they told me that I couldn’t use two of the same value RR in the same transation. When I said that “no you can” she said it was a new rule. She even called her manager over the phone and they said I could do it this once, but from now on you couldn’t. I was wondering if this is just this store or if it is spreading at other stores. I also have noticed in the last months that at all 4 stores I shop at will not take a 2 $ off coupons on a walgreen’s BOGO free or a BOGO free manufactures coupon on a BOGO free waglreens sale. And the last couple of weeks a couple of stores have not let me use 2 $ off coupon when two items are BOGO half off. The second one was 1 cent under the coupon value and they said they couldn’t adjust the coupon down. Some cashiers just scan coupons and only look if they BEEP. But other ones know what is on sale and tell me I can’t use the coupon before they try. OH well. I was more concerned with the first comment.

Sarah – That’s a new one on me! I just used (3) $1 RR tonight with no issues. I think your store is just making up crazy rules to discourage RR usage.

What is with these stores? Do they actually want to sell things? Ugh, they make me crazy!

I have had our local Wags (Hawaii) try to put a limit on how many RR I can use in a transaction. While other cashiers just try to use as many RR as they can until they “beep” at them (usually meaning it won’t go lower than the cost of tax). But, I had another local friend have the same issue with them not accepting more than 2 RR in the same transaction. So weird. I had to pay $17 OOP once even though I still had more than enough RR to pretty much cover that entire amount. It’s getting weird, I tell ya …

Thank you for these great scenarios! I had to tweak them slightly because i had a$ 3 and$ 8 rr, but i ended up paying just 80 cents oop. And i will send in for the rebate.

Hey Christie,

When I read the fine prints on Rebate form for Shcik Hydro, it said cannot be combined with other offers. When I purchased the shcik hydro, I used the $5 off coupon, do you think, when they see that I used it on my reciept they may reject my rebate form?

Thanks
Nina

Hey Nina – Other people have gotten the Rebate already and got the full $7.99 even using the $5 coupon (this is from last month) and paying with RR. So I think you are ok. 🙂
