This is great, thanks! Always love your scenarios and lessons. It would be awesome to see a lesson sometime on different tips to come up with good scenarios. It would be a perfect world if I could have all the coupons and RR’s to just follow your scenarios week to week, lol! I always struggle with coming up with scenarios my own.

Thank you so much! I’ve only been couponing for a couple weeks and like you said, don’t have the coupons. This is awesome! Thanks!

I agree – thank you so much for the scenarios. I have been couponing for about 2 months and don’t have a lot of the older coupons saved up yet.

If you haven’t already done this, I’d love to see a post about good cheap filler items, and maybe encourage people to chime in on the comments on what they use as fillers. I usually end up with some type of candy as a filler (although this week it was reusable bags), but it would be great to know of some non-candy ideas (my waistline would appreciate it).

I normally put in the cheap fillers at the end of the weekly ad. Look for Weekly ad at the top of the page (or Next weeks if you want tomorrow). Scroll to the bottom and you’ll see the cheap fillers for the week. I may go with gloves for dish-washing this week. I’m trying to stay away from the candy too!

I can’t get the Tone coupon to print. Is anyone else having issues?

My Walgreens won’t price adjust for coupon overage, so the $10 MM for the Bayer Contour or Breeze2 Glucose Monitor is a no go for me. 🙁 I’ve been told if the value of the coupon is higher than the cost of the item they are unable to take the coupon. I’ve even had Walgreens not take a coupon that was only 1 cent more than the purchase price. This seemed a bit extreme to me, but it’s hard to dispute without a coupon policy to refer to. I’m fairly new to Walgreens and so I’m still trying to understand how it all works. I was just curious if anyone else has had this problem or if it’s more of a YMMV situation.

If you have the Bayer it’ll still work for you even if that’s the case. The coupon is “Up toe $30” so just like a B1G1 coupon, it’ll just prompt the cashier to enter the amount. So there’s no overage in the coupon, the big money maker comes in when you pay $0 for the monitor and get a $10 RR back. So go get some meters! 🙂

I LOVE your site, expecially when you map out exactly what to buy. I love to shop but I have a 2 year old son who gets grumpy so I have to shop fast! sometimes I don’t have the chance to look around.

Thanks for all the info! Love it! The Tone coupon is no longer available though, and on the scotch coupon, has anyone tried it? Just curious since there is no print limit if it actually works….

Bummer on the Tone coupon. I posted about it about a week ago so everyone could get it. I was even hoping to get a couple more. I had no problem with the Scotch tape at all. Just be sure to give the MQ first.

got 8 free rolls of Scotch tape at 4 different stores. My husband tried it and didn’t have any luck. You need to buy something else to absorb the whopping overage of 1 cent! 😉

Amy, regarding cheep fillers, I usually scope out the clearance endcap and can often find things like little sharpie markers for .24 or small hair things for about a quarter. Another thing I do is get rainchecks for things that I regularly use when they’re on sale and WAGS is out of them as they usually are – like the small cans of hunts tomato sauce for .35 or eggs for .99 or 4pk of Bays English muffins for.99 or Chhezits for .99 or tuna… -and then use them as filler items later. Or I check the food section for Clearance items and can usually find inexpensive beverages or food items to try for under a dollar. Right now my wags has lots of clearance items in the office supply aisle which are inexpensive and things we’ll use. Hope that helps!

Is anyone else having problems using RR’s on items that are suppose to print RR’s and they don’t print? I’ve tried 6 times at 4 different stores and when I use a RR to pay for an item that is suppose to print an RR…the new RR won’t print. Doesn’t matter what company the original RR is from or the amount OR how many items I have. I know all the rules of using RR’s and have been doing this for about 6 months, but all of a sudden over the last 2 weeks, it’s not working anymore!! The cashiers are all telling me that now if you use an RR to pay for an item, you will NOT get another RR no matter what!! They tell me that Wags is starting this policy to keep people from rolling the RR’s and not spending money. Anyone else hearing this? I hope it’s not true, but apparently it already is here =-(

Thanks for coming up with scenerios. I have a Walgreens that doesn’t always print RR…so sometimes it is difficult. There is also one manager that is not so customer friendly. The cashiers are great, but you can tell that they have been instructed by this manager to not let anything “get by” them. I am not trying to do anything illeagal, but sometimes it does get frustrating.

Just tried to pull up the scotch tape Q and it’s $3 off 3 rolls?? Anyone else having this problem??

Reply

Christie April 27, 2010 at 1:48 am

They may have removed it. There were 2 coupons on that pdf and one was for the tape and the other the 3 rolls.

Agreed, I missed the $1/1 coupon as well. I found a link to the same coupon, but with an expiration date of 5/31/2010:
