Walgreens Online: What Happened To The Projected Points?

by Christie- on August 20, 2020

Breaking news! Walgreens.com has removed the projected points line in the Online Order Cart Page. Also, once you hit checkout, the projected points line is showing 0 points to be earned. I did call, and a very friendly customer service representative told me that the points would be issued but the line was gone. When I asked if it was a technical error or were they changing the page, she told me she thought they were fixing the page because it appeared sometimes it shows the wrong points. Of course you and I know that the projected points are sometimes wrong. Whenever there is a Walgreens coupon involved they are not calculated correctly. Also, once you redeem points that may also change the projected points. Fingers crossed they will fix it to show accurately and not just leave us blind.

I DID place my Beauty Order today, and I hope that I get the points that I have carefully calculated to receive. I will let you know how this works out, but since the points are only issued after the order ships, keep in mind this may not occur until after the $7 WYB $25 Beauty Offer has expired. So just decide if you want to place your Beauty Order calculating your points off the top of your head. I have faith in you guys ๐Ÿ™‚ If you place a Beauty Order and get your points or don’t get your points, PLEASE be sure to leave us a comment to share with everyone else. Sometimes it’s one single item that isn’t shipped fast that holds up an order and the points aren’t issued until all the items in the order are shipped OR cancelled, so maybe some of you get your orders shipped wright away.

UPDATE: I got my order finally shipped to me, and earned 0 points. I did call but they told me there was an error on having the Balance Rewards see what it was I bought (I bought a bunch of beauty), so I should wait a couple more days for them to fix it, and the points should be applied. The agent was kind enough to give me the 10x Everyday points manually right away. BUT I do see the kind reader who let us know they gave her all her points manually. Yay! I noticed she called earlier so then maybe by the time I called (which was only late because that’s when they shipped my last product); they decided to handle it differently. OR, maybe you get a different agent and they handle it differently. When I look at my purchase history, it reads exactly what I bought but when I click on the “Points Activity” in my app, it reads I bought “UNKNOWN,” so if your order looks the same, maybe that’s why I was told to wait.

(Thanks, Lily)

I ordered on Thursday as well even without a points estimate, hoping for the 7000 points on $25 beauty purchase (ended up spending about $28 on beauty altogether after the 20% off code and the clipped coupons) AND the 10x points multiplier. The order shipped today, Saturday, and they only gave me…… 40 points (on a $54 order that went down to $35 after coupons???). I tried calling customer service today but they were already closed. Will have to try Monday, I doubt they are open on Sunday.

I called too & she told me to wait til evening–I told her that things might sell out, but I did wait & I got lucky–none of my stuff sold, and I was able to see that projected was over 24,000 points on my $38.00 order! Yeaaahh!!

Addition to my August 23 post: I ended up calling customer service, and they added the points to my account manually.
