Walgreens Updates From the Field 6/29

by Christie Bisbee on June 29, 2014

Starbucks Refreshers Money MakerHere are some updates from my Walgreens shopping trip to help your trip go a bit smoother.

STARBUCKS DEAL: The Starbucks Refreshers and Single Iced Coffee Money Makers are working perfectly. The coupons go thru smoothly and are not interfering with the $1 Register Reward printing. Sometimes when the coupon and the RR are the same value they are coded the same and therefore the coupon prevents the RR from printing, but not in this case so enjoy this yummy money maker.

Walgreens Deals (Thru 7/5)
Buy (1) Starbucks Refreshers 12oz or (1) Iced Coffee 11oz $1

Beauty EventBEAUTY & PERSONAL CARE POINTS: the Walgreens Beauty and Personal Care Points offer is back at Walgreens thru 8/30/14! You’ll get 50 points for every $1 spent on Beauty and personal care products including Oral Care. This is on top of any any other points or Regsiter Rewards that are available in the ad.

And if you didn’t get the coupon in your ad, or just don’t want to have to remember to scan it, you can go HERE to add this to your card, no coupons needed.

Revlon Money MakerREVLON DEAL: You may want to check for clearance Revlon. Erica found clearance Revlon nail polish for $1.49 and $1.24. She used the $1/1 Revlon Nail Product, exp. 7/19/14 (SS 06/15/14 R) to get them for 49¢ and 24¢ and they produced the $3 Register Reward! SWEET. 🙂 (Thanks Erica!)

Scope Deal at WalgreensSCOPE DEAL: If you missed my update earlier today, and haven’t yet printed your Scope coupons, do it now. These coupons are scheduled to disappear sometime before end of day tomorrow. I don’t know if we’ll see them in July. My store was running low on Scope, so I printed them and am planning to stock up later in the week after their shipment.

Be sure to look for the large Kool-Aid canisters that have 23.9 oz. (25% more free) because they are ringing up at $2 and producing the $2 RR! Yay!

I just attempted to purchase the Starbucks MM and the system didn’t print a RR. The store associate is telling me it is because the item is free. Has this happened to anyone else? Could it be that my state is tax free? Any suggestions?

Just tried a different Walgreens and didn’t have a problem. I think it was that particular Wags/

Hey Claire! I have had this happen before. It is usually the printer machine or that the particular flavor has not yet been flagged in their system. At my stores, the manager will void the transaction and try a different register. If it still doesn’t work, sometimes, they will just add the amount at BR points instead. 🙂 HTH

My state (TX) is tax-free and I used the coupon and got the RR with no problems at all. He/she doesn’t know what they’re talking about.

I had one store tell me I was not allowed to use the coupon on the Starbucks because then It wouldn’t charge me sales tax.

Not true at all.

One of my Walgreens has told me that they cannot accept manufacturer coupons on items receiving register rewards making them free. I haven’t tried it since.

My store no longer carries Scope Outlast or Scope Dual Blast. They don’t even have a spot for it. Is this happening anywhere else?

Lauren June 29, 2014 at 5:59 pm

Yes- The two stores I went to no longer carried them as well.

Didn’t have any problems with any of my rr printing, my store had 3 iced coffees but do not carry the refreshers. The canisters (cool-aid also), the 10 pk singles and the pitcher packs are all printing, even the caffeine ones! All three types of the double toothbrush pks are printing as well. I am getting 100 points for each toothbrush. Anyone else getting 100 points?

Yes, as long as you’ve scanned the coupon (you only need to scan it once), you should get 50 points for every dollar spent in beauty, personal, and oral care products, so that’s 100 points for the GUM toothbrushes (wish they rounded up).

Oh I was thinking it was supposed to be 500 points! lol

Are these bonus points supposed to show up immediately on your receipt? I got the coupon in the paper and was sure to have the cashier scan it, but did not notice my points increase even though I’d purchased multiple beauty products…

Yes they should show up on your receipt. Just call Walgreens Balance Rewards customer service and they can add them for you. I would then go to the link I provide in the post and make sure it’s added to your account.

does anyone know if there is a printable Revlon nail coupon?

Reply

Christie Hardcastle June 30, 2014 at 2:36 pm

There was but it’s no longer available. But check your printed coupons, you may have printed it and mine was good till 7/12.

I checked in the June/July Walgreens booklet and found a $1 off coupon for Revlon nail. It didn’t take off the discount at the register but the manager came over and did the override. Not sure if every manager will do this. Worth a try!

Christie, my RRs have expired. Is there anything I can do about it?

Reply

That will really depend on your store but in most cases they don’t accept them.
