I am a fastidious expiration date checker. The Slimfast Snack bites were all expired in October, 2013. I alerted the sales associate who checked it out, then promptly removed them from the shelf. Went to the Wags down the street, same thing but with the Slimfast snack bars. This is not the first time, sadly. I’ve found quite a bit of expired food product on the shelves – several weeks ago it was the beef jerky. Again, notified the clerk and it was removed. In all the years I’ve shopped at Publix, I may have found one thing expired – it just isn’t allowed to happen there. Disappointing though – just because it is clearance it should still be in date UNLESS there is a sign clearly disclosing same. I really wanted to try the snack bites and I otherwise enjoy shopping at Wags!
