Walgreens: Updates From the Field 1/27

by Christie Bisbee on January 27, 2013

Here are some updates from my Walgreens shopping trip today to help your trip go a bit easier.

K-Y Ultra Gel: There was a good stock of K-Y at my store. Be sure to check the expiration date on these, so you can get the longest shelf life possible. Also, when I purchased the K-Y and the Pur-Absorb in the same transaction one coupon or the other would beep. Finally giving the K-Y coupon first seemed to work or just buying them in different transactions. I have no idea why?! 😛

DHEA 50 ct: I found this in the vitamin section and there was a shelf spot for it at my store.

Mg217 Psoriasis Ointment 3.8 oz $6: I found this in the section where you’d find itch cream and those kinds of products.

Pur-Absorb Iron Supplement: Look in your box to see if you have a $2 coupon on these! So even if you don’t have the printable you can use the $2 coupon found in the box towards a second box for a nice little money maker!  Some of you may even have a box of this from a previous deal last year so check your stockpile.

Balance Rewards Tip: This is also a great week to turn your Balance Rewards points into Register Rewards. If you have Balance Rewards points in your account, you can use them to pay for the RR deals this week to make it easier to roll back and forth between the two. Here is a deal idea for you using 18,000 points…

Be sure you check your receipt after each trip. I keep getting cheated on my balance rewards. I’m beginning to think this program is too much trouble. Have you noticed…..(example) 1000 points with a $25 purchase and the item is priced at $24.99. Just a penny short for the points. A trick to get you to buy more.

this happens everywhere. Even in Rite Aid and she told me that the manufacturer’s will not refund them if they are short. It is only CVS that lets you get away with cents

with the coupon inside the boxes of absorb, there is a short survey and you mail to them to receive a free gift.

Great job! Yesterday I did the KY deal twice, 2 diferent transactions. I had a $2 and a $3 MFQ so my OOP, including tax, was $7.66 and I got back $12 in RR (2 $6 RRs). I then bought a Pur Absorb for $10, DHEA for $7, used a $2 MFQ on Pur Absorb, both $6 KY RRs, paid $3.84 and got back $10 RR and $7 RR. Today I bought 5 Suaves for $10, 1 KY for $5.99, used the $3/$10 Suave coupon, the $2 KY coupon for a total of $10.99 – $10 Absorb, paid $1.61 and got back a $6 KY RR, and earned 3,000BR.

Try IE, if you aren’t already on it. Firefox is iffy for me with Java, but IE seems to work in those instances.

Couldnt find the DHEA at my store, even the manager didn’t know where to find it. I did get the pur-absorb and ky with no problems. My store had Turkey gravy on clearance for 39 cents each and Karo syrup for 94 cents. I was pretty happy.

I didn’t get to shop today so haven’t seen the RR’s yet. Can someone tell me what each one shows as who is is from? Sorry – very bad grammar – hope that made sense.

Just came across your website. I had the same problem with the pur-absorb and KY coupons. I bought the two items, gave the $3 pur cpn, then the $2 KY cpn….the machine would beep, delete the $3 cpn, and say that I no longer had an item that matched this cpn…krazy. Voided the transactions probably 4 times to try again. The manager really didn’t like me saying that their computers were screwed up. Then she wanted to show her ignorance by saying it was because I was using a cpn on an item that was “free”, so it would be like WG paying me money. To which I THOUGHT…EXACTLY…lets do it that way. Save you and me the paperwork. Ended up seperating it out and going to town.

i did a few different transactions today. I was trying to do the bogo 50% gillette shave gel deal with the bogo coupons and the ky with $2 ky man together and it would not take both coupons for some reason. it would delete the other coupon. i tried it two different ways so becareful to watch the screen and make sure your coupons are working after they are scanning. just read a previous comment here where someone tried another transaction with the ky and another coupon where they would fall off. Im thinking the ky coupons dont like to be used with other manufacturer coupons.

I bought 2 KY (in sep transactions). Then on my 3rd order I bought 3 pizzas and 2 candy bars. I used b2go free pizza q and tried to use the two $6 RR from the first two orders. The 2nd $6 RR kept beeping and the cashier couldn’t get it take it. On that order I had a total of 5 items and tried to use one mfg q and (2) RR. I don’t under stand why it would not take the 2nd $6 RR. Christy or anyone, do you know why it wouldn’t take the 2nd RR? Is it because they were both $6 RR from the same product even though I was not buying that product on my 3rd order? Confused………..

How much was your total after coupons, if it is even a penny below the 12.00 the computer will not accept the second 6rr. I have had to run and find some cheap piece of candy to make up the two cents, its a pain but it has to be exactly 12.00 before tax or they will not work. HTH
