Great Deal on Nice! Trash Bags & Nuts

by Christie Bisbee on January 17, 2012

You can get a couple of great deal this week on Nice! products. Nice! is the name for the revamped Walgreens brand. You’ll get a coupon for $2 OFF your next order of $2+ when you buy $10 worth of Nice! products. Combine that with some sales this week and you can grab a great deal.

These Nice! 45ct Tall Kitchen 13 gallon bags are ringing up as part of the $4.99 sale (regularly priced at $7.49). Buy two and then throw in another small Nice! product to get the $2 back. I grabbed the 6pk of Nice! Raisins which are $1 each.

***DEAL IDEA***
Buy (2) Nice! Trash Bags 45ct 13 gallon $4.99
(1) Nice 6pk of Raisins (or other small Nice! item) $1
Total = $10.98, Get Back $2 Register Reward
= $8.98 for everything!

Or you can get a great deal on the Nuts that are 2/$5 this week. I grabbed (4) packs of the Almonds for $2 each after the Register Reward.

***DEAL IDEA***
Buy (4) Nice! Almonds, Peanuts or Mixed 2/$5
Total = $10, Get Back $2 Register Reward
= $2 EACH

I just wanted to mention that I did this deal last week when the same buy $10 get $2 coupon back was running. The $2 coupon you get back isn’t really a register reward, it is more like a walgreens coupon that can be used on anything. So basically, it does not attach to an item and so you would not need a filler to use it if all of your other items had coupons. At least that’s how it printed last week for me. Just thought that might help somebody!

Thanks Jen – yes it printed like that for me too, just the black barcode. I didn’t realize it didn’t attach to anything so YAY! Thanks for the tip. 🙂

Correct. Same coupon this week (on the top instead of Manufacturer’s Coupon it says Walgreens Stockup Coupon).

Cashier wouldn’t believe me – I said cool, let me grab something else and I’ll show you :). So bought another box of South Beach bars, used a regular RR and put the Nice coupon on top.

Oh, one other thing – at least here in Michigan, which of course may vary by state, it reduces the taxable value of your purchase.
So for optimal value, use on a taxable item :).

yes! As a cashier who UNDERSTANDS and uses RR’s and coupons… it’s a simple store coupon that just reduces teh value of your order so, yes, tax is lowered! and can be used in conjunction with any purchase over the value of the coupon regardless of any other coupons used.

I didn’t realize this was still going on. How much longer do we get this deal for?

It’s all month long but some prices vary during the month. So like this week the trash bags are on sale.

The bleach is $1.19 or something this week! And I bought them for 2/$3 last week! Grrr! Haha. But still good deals can be found throughout 🙂 Thanks Christie and everyone else!

I did this deal today, buying two boxes of trash bags and three boxes of raisins for a total of $12 and change. I paid using 2 South Beach RRs. The $2 did not print. I inquired about it, and the manager informed me the deal was valid last week. When I got home I found the deal advertised in the monthly booklet, so I ran back to the store. The manager then told me it did not print because I paid using RRs. I questioned this because the brands were unrelated. Thankfully another manager was present who agreed with me. After the two discussed it, and after bringing in a third manager, they did decide to grant me the $2. I shop this Walgreens at least 3 times a week, so sort of embarassing for just $2!

Christie, I’m curious, could you shed some light on why this might have happened? Has anyone encountered this? Thank you!

Honestly Amanda – it should have printed. I used SB RR to pay too. Did it print anything else? It could have been out of ink, paper, turned off, etc.

Thank you! I sincerely appreciate the response. I did another transaction immediately after (for more SB bars) and that printed, so who knows…I just feel better knowing it should have printed.

I learned how to shop Walgreens here, thanks to you, and visit the blog daily for new deals. Thanks for all you do to help us out!

A cashier at my store said that their catalina machines were having issues (they were getting new ones in a few days) and would randomly shut off and not print RRs for people. Maybe they were just having technical difficulties?

I would bring your receipt to the manager and show them the ad for this deal in the January Coupon Book. It should have printed regardless of how you paid. My guess is one of the products was left out of the deal by mistake and caused it to look like your total was less that $10.

Thanks so much for posting this deal! I realized yesterday that we were almost out of garbage bags, so I did the transaction you listed with the 2 garbage bags and the raisins (my son loves little snacks like that). So glad it happened to fall during the right week!
