FREE UP2U Gum Starting 9/25!

by Christie Bisbee on September 23, 2011

WOO HOO! Looks like we’ll have FREE Up2U gum starting Sunday 9/25!

Up2U gum will be $.99 with in ad coupon, there’s also a $1/2 MQ and a $1/2 Walgreens coupon in the October Coupon book that you should be able to pick up at your store starting on Sunday.

If you have nothing else if your order the last coupon (from the monthly book) will beep and the cashier will need to adjust the coupon by $.02.

***DEAL IDEA STARTING 9/25***
Buy (2) Mentos Up 2 U 14 piece $.99 (w/in ad Q)
Total = $1.98
-$1/2 Mentos Gum UP2U Pack, any – 09-11-11 SS x10/20 or 08-14-11 SS x9/30
-$1/2 Mentos Up 2 U Gum, 14 pieces (5486) – October Walgreens Coupon Book
= FREE!

You should be able to use both Walgreens coupons as Walgreens “accepts one manufacturer coupon and applicable Walgreens coupon(s) for the purchase of a single item”. It’s not unusual to have two Walgreens coupons on one item.

Yay, my hubby will be very excited about the FREE gum! 🙂

Just to double check since I have a few of these coupons, this would work for free gum even if I bought 8 packs of gum, had 4 manufacturer’s coupons, and 1 Wag book coupon, right?

Right! 🙂

Alisa: you are so funny! Your post made me literally LOL!! I love your attitude! I dreaded the cashier that doesn’t like me couponing and now you just changed my mind! They just hate it that we are not paying full price like they do otherwise they would be ecstatic that we coupon!! Thanks for making my day!

Gum not Gun! :). Question do I have to have 8 of the Walgreen Coupons from the ad or will one be good enough?

Just one from the october coupon book & 1 from the ad.

If i buy 4 packs of gum and use 3 coupons (in-ad, wags, mfg), would i be able to pay with a RR? since i have 3 coupons and 4 items? Or does the wags coupon count as 2 even though i’ve only given them one? Thanks in advance.

Kelly September 23, 2011 at 6:22 pm

if i had another item and a filler.. i mean.

tina September 25, 2011 at 4:24 pm

the coupon policy is that you can not have more manufacture coupons than items being purchased RR’s count as manufacturer coupons but store coupons do not count in that number. I do believe that when the coupon is for 2 items like the $1/2 then it counts as 2 so you may need a filler for each RR that you use (they have some small plastic halloween tumblers 8 for $1 using an in ad coupon which I used as a filler but you do not have to get all 8)

My neice is super excited and guess what I am giving out for halloween? I’m sure that there will be plenty of free candy in October too. I told my grandma and my inlaws that I am handling their halloween bowls this year hehe.

So is there any specific order to hand over these 3 coupons? I know that the man. q goes first, but then does it matter for the in ad q or coupon book next? Thanks for anyones help! Ps I just saw the ad and it says limit 4 : (

Melissa September 24, 2011 at 8:55 am

Does anyone know how closely Wags follows the limit? Would they only allow me to buy 4 gum in each transaction or would they allow me to buy more? Thanks!

Also was just wondering in general – do Walgreens coupons allow for overage? Does it have to be of the same brand or could it be anything for that extra 2 cents?
Thanks!

My Wags will not allow more coupons than items bought. So I in-ad oupon and 2 from the Oct book will not work for me if I buy only 2. Maby 4 would work better?

i cant find this coupon in my 9/11 ss…. were there 2 ss that week??

Reply

Melissa September 24, 2011 at 10:35 pm

Ok same question everyone is having:
So if I have 2 manus for 1/2 and 2 wags from the booklet and the in-ad, that counts as 5 or 4? Am I going to need a filler?
Next question… can they just scan the same wags coupons over and over or do I need to get like 20 of those little booklets lol, I know they keep an ad at the register and will scan that over and over but didn’t know about the booklet

I went to 2 different walgreens this morning and neither store would allow me to use all 3 coupons. they said we can only use one of the walgreens coupons

Melissa September 25, 2011 at 1:15 pm

The same thing happened to me. I called corporate and they said that the October booklet coupon is actually a manufacturer’s coupon. So you can use the in ad coupon and either the October booklet coupon OR the manufacturer coupon. Drats!

Yah I found out later when I got back they disabled the one in the book until after this weeks promo is over

Reply

nell September 25, 2011 at 8:25 pm

Oh no! So it won’t work all week then? : ( did a manager tell you this? I’m just wondering if they just said that or if its the truth. Was really looking forward to this deal!

FYI…I’m a cashier at Wags & that’s BS! If you bust out your wags book first before ANY Q’s the register will take off the correct amount depending on how many packs you have so if you have 4 packs (the limit to purchase sale items in 1 TA) it will auto deduct $2…then bust out your wallet & OH MY more Qpons! Then give them the Q from the paper. It states in plain language the book Q is NOT a manufacture Q in our coupon policy. I don’t know why a cashier would have issues? I try to find deals for all my customers (of course I was a couponer before I started working at wags too…). The only thing they are allowed to do is down grade your Q amount to the actual cost of the gum so if it’s .98 after the wag Q they will deduct the .98 not the dollar. But rarely do any of us know exactly what each item costs after the Q’s have been deducted. Get a copy of our policy and don’t be afraid to use it! Happy Qponing!

Thanks Shelly!
So is Barbara’s comment true that is has been disabled? I haven’t tried any other coupons in the coupon book to know if they all aren’t working or just that one.

Just wondering if any of the wags employees have been briefed to not let this deal work or if its just a bug in the system?
Thanks!

The coupons in the Walgreens Monthly book did not get disabled just activated a little slowly. With so many coupons and ads starting this past weekend for our stores, and coupons overlapping, the system got a little overloaded. I even bought some of the gum today after I got off of work and all 3 coupons worked perfectly. Happy Couponing.

Thanks Katie! I’ll have to try it out! I had promised my hubby some gum! 😉

I went to my walgreens today and they said I cannot use all three coupons. I ended up paying for 4 packs at .49 cents each!!!

I went to a few different stores yesterday and was successful in all transactions, BUT the coupon in the Oct. booklet was not working properly no matter what order the coupons were rung in. The cashiers didnt give me a hard time but they seemed to be confused as to why the booklet coupon wouldnt scan since I had clearly bought the right product. They did enter it manually but it took FOREVER!!
