Yes I was wondering about that because it is spend $10 get $5 rr and if the total is under $10 with coupons then the rr might not print.

Susan July 11, 2011 at 1:38 pm

The total needs to be $10 before coupons. I did it yesterday and used three $2 Coupons and it worked just fine.

I bought 3 items(same items mentioned in Christies post) and used 3 coupons but the RR didn’t print.I really wish Walgreens would get it together with this program because I never know what to expect when I shop there.

I just went and looked at my receipt. I bought the Clean Cut nail clippers, Tini Slant Razor and Brow Shaper. The nail clippers only rang up $2.79 but my total was still over $10 because the tweezers were $4.19 and the brow shaper was $3.49. I think that the nail clippers were priced incorrectly. If yours were too, then you might not have hit $10.

right…I was just about to tell her the same thing. Hers probably rang up 2.79. I think in the pic above they have the clip n catch and clean cuts in the reverse spots. I did a different order with the 1 clip n catch and 2 brow shapers and that worked as well.

Yes it was the clean cuts.I went back and looked at my reciept. They rang up as 2.79 and that was before handing the cashier any coupons.I always wait until after they ring to hand my coupons(even though some of them protest) Too late to do another transaction though as I only have 2 coupons left and 0 in register rewards since spending them this morning. 🙁

Same here in Miami, I didn’t get the 5RR although I got the $2 revlon coupon. My total before cpn was 12. I also wonder why the Catalina did not print. 🙁

Call or email Catalina. You need to have your receipt. I didn’t receive a Catalina for a recent purchase. I emailed and called and received it in less than 10 days (even though they tell you it may be 6 to 8 weeks). It is a pain, but worth it in the end.

Hi Jan,
I replied, but my response is “waiting approval”. Probably because of the email address. Just check back tomorrow.

Does anyone know if this deal works in a “points test market” area?

Dan July 11, 2011 at 2:11 pm

I got even luckier! I bought 4 of the Clean Cut Clippers @ $3.99 Then they all 4 rang up for $3.99 – 30% (They were on Sale!)

$2.79 Each with the $2 off coupon = $0.79 each

And It still printed a $5 RR, and an extra $2 off Rev coupon!

$1.84 Money Maker!!

oh, that’s a good one too!

If you need tweezers I did this deal:

Tweezers reg price 7.99 sale price 5.59
2 pairs of nail clippers reg price 3.99 sale price 2.79

total before coupons: 11.17
minus (3) $2/1 MQs = 5.17
minus $5 RR = 17 cents!!!!

(at my store the clean cut clippers were reg price 3.99, and the clip and catch were reg price 4.99, which is the opposite of what the pic above is showing–I think those are in the wrong spots, cuz the catch one is usually more)

doesn’t the coupon state $2 off ant purchase of $3 or more. The nail clippers were only 2.79

I have a moneymaker suggestion for the $2 Revlon Catalina. Target has a package of Revlon emery boards for $1.87, so they’re a $0.13 money maker. (Just be sure to have other items to absorb overage.) I used my three Catalinas there yesterday, and they generated another $2 Cat, plus a $5/2! The cashier did question the Cat since it has Walgreen’s name printed on it, but I simply pointed out that it is a manufacturer’s coupon and then she took it.

I just wanted to mention that I think on this specific deal, it has to be $10 AFTER the 30% off. Also, I bought some $1ish nail files to help me get up to the $10 and the RR printed, so it’s not only for the ones in the nice packages.

I got 2 Flirty Eyes Curlash at $4.19 ea (after 30%off) and 1 nail clipper at $2.79(after 30%)) and got the $5RR so $0.17 for the 3. And to my surprise it printed another $2 Sally Hansen Beauty Tool catalina. So now I have $2 Catalina and $1 q from ALL YOU June. Any idea where else I can get another coupon? lol! I want more curlash! lol!

Cocoa July 13, 2011 at 8:07 am

forgot to mention I also found the hair remover wax strip kit on clearance for $3.99 and I have (2) $3.00 printed q so I grabbed 2 of those. =)

Can I combine the Revlon catalina from this offer with the Revlon coupon in the July coupon book? Just wondering.

I didnt get the 5RR either. My total was $10.45 after tax and I used two $2 Qs and one $3Q (from all you aug2011). I spoke to manager and a visiting supervisor and all they told me was that my Qs got the total below 10, so no cat. I am really frustrated with Walgreens. I think I am not going there any more. They need to get their act together. So frustrating.

Dipty,
If your total was only 10.45 AFTER tax, your before tax total wasn’t above $10 (I’m assuming, but I don’t know your tax rate), that is why your RR didn’t print, NOT because of coupons. Coupons should NEVER impact whether a RR prints because that’s not how the registers are programmed to work. I’ve had ONE person try to give me that same reasoning at Wags and only one. These employees DO NOT know what they’re talking about. Manufacturer’s coupons are like cash (as far as stores are concerned). They take the coupons you pay with and get reimbursed for them 100% from the mnfct (Dial, P&G, etc) plus usually a small handling fee, so these DO NOT affect your total to earn Register Rewards, Catalinas, etc. However, all RR that require a certain dollar amount spent (i.e. spend $20, get $5) ARE based on before tax amounts. The only thing I’m not 100% sure on is when the products are on sale if it’s always the sale price not the original price that applies to getting to your total required to get the RR. I’m pretty sure its the sale price, NOT the original. So in this case you’d have to calculate up to $10 after you take 30% off of ea product, not before.

I didn’t get the RR a few weeks back on buying the men’s dove stuff and it was buy $15 worth get $5 RR back. I had $15 before tax and coupons. After paying with Qs and cash. No RR came out. I spoke with the manager and he told me that it would have produced a RR if I hadn’t used the Qs. He was kind enough to show me and said to please call corporate because that has been an issue lately and the stores are catching the flack for catalina deals which are out of their control. Unfortunately, he couldn’t help me.
