Updates From the Field 6/19

by Christie Bisbee on June 19, 2011

A few quick updates from my trip to help your trip go a little easier!

SUAVE REGISTER REWARD DEAL
If you do the Suave deal look for these packages with the bonus lotions attached. They also are working for the Register Reward deal and ringing up at $2 each.  (Thanks Cara!)

You can also buy the Suave Lotion that includes 25% more FREE. That is ringing up $3 (just like the other Suave Lotions) and also working for the Register Reward deal.

GATORADE DEAL
This Mail In Rebate seems to be the same one they did before. So if you did that Mail in Rebate for the Gatorade products I don’t believe you are eligible to do it again.

FINESSE DEAL
I’m still finding the Try Me Free Rebates attached to many of the Finesse products and many of you are finding them as well. that would make them a $3.50 Money Maker so keep your eyes peeled! (Thanks Allison!)

How did your trip go? Find any deals? Let us know! 😉

Keep your eyes peeled for bonus BOGO packs of the Lysol anti-bac wipes. They’re ringing up at the $2.99 sale price and are printing the $1 RR. Buy 2 packs and use a $1/2 coupon, makes it only $1 each!

my store did not have the Walgreen’s brand of omeprazole(generic of Prilosec) that was in the add, and they were rude to me about it, finally substituting the 42 count box at the 15.99 sale price (which is the same as a 28 count plus 14 count free)…the stores just seem so UNEDUCATED, I should NEVER know more than them!

I called corporate and they took my compliant (and I’ve already had a call from the store) and wondered why the store had such a hard time substituting…corporate stated that the store should have just offered to substitute it in the first place.

The Walgreen’s closest to me is such a PAIN, which is why I try to go to one a little farther away when I can…but my rewards were expiring so i had to go…

SUPER FRUSTRATING!

I hear you!! When the main store manager has to be educated by you, the customer, about their own store poicies, you have to wonder. You think if they work that hard to become manager, they wouldn’t dare let ANYONE know more about anything when it comes to the operation of the store. But that would be in a perfect world. 🙂

I go out of my way to go to a very nice coupon-friendly Walgreens. The one closer to me is terrible and I’ve contacted corporate about it a few times. I can’t say enough good things about the store I DO shop at though. 🙂

I imagine that, while couponing is probably a part of the curriculum a prospective manager has to take, they get the majority of their knowledge from on-the-job experience. The difference from a ‘NICE’ Wags and an ‘UNEDUCATED’ one is probably the manager’s customer service skills and not their actual knowledge. If they would only show some compassion, both parties could leave with positive feelings. I’m fortunate; my Wags has been great.

I have a question about the Finesse. I bought 2 using 2 $1/1 coupons and using a $5RR (from Gillette) to pay for it. The receipt contains only those two items and clearly shows that I paid nothing for them. Can I still use the “Try Me Free” peelie?

My Walgreens had the Colgate Sensitive enamelprotect on clearance for $3.19 (retail was $6.29) that was also ringing up as BOGO FREE, I used 2 $1.00 off coupons from the June’s ALL YOU magazine, making them about $.60 a piece. 🙂

Got a real good deal for Gillette Deodorant $4.49 buy one get one 50% off. I used the B1G1 q and (2) $1 off q from P&G insert. All 3 q’s worked and the get 1 free took the higher price so I ended up paying $0.25 ea.

You need to make sure you are careful and do not use 2 $1/1 Q’s combined with a B1G1 Q…the store will not get reimbursed for the extra $1/1 Q you used, and if too many people stack Q’s incorrectly, it will hurt all of us. Thanks—

My bad… I am a newbie and I thought if I did it wrong the register would beep. I’ll be sure to not to do this again. Thanks for letting me know.

Went to my local Walgreens this morning, the cashier I usually see is always friendly and lets me know what deals there are. This was my trip:

2 Xcel Fabric Softner B1G1 Free $3.49, 2 Nabisco Oreo Double Stuff Cookies 6oz .99 cents each, 1 Gillette Body Wash 2.99 = $8.46 – $3 ($1 off 2 cookies 4-8 oz & $2 off body wash) – $5 (Tide/Downey mail in rebate gift card) = TOTAL OF $0.46 cents!

The Gillette Bodywash is on B1G1 $2.99 w/in ad q. I used 2 $1/1 P&G 6/05 insert so I got 2 for $0.99 ea.

Reply

Kristen June 19, 2011 at 7:14 pm

the B1G1 coupons were ringing up $3 off for me too, but my checker caught it and brought them down to $2.

I’m hoping to find a walgreens that has the kids suave bodywash on sale, because that is what we REALLY go through here. Finding good kids bodywash/shampoo is always great here with 3 kids!

Can someone help me out… Where are you finding the palmolive dish soap coupons?

Reply

Carlye June 19, 2011 at 8:02 pm

I found 7 of the .99 wisks (12 loads) with the $1.50 off coupon (expires 7/30)! One did not have a coupon on it but I was pretty sure it did…oh well.

I also bought 2 (8 ct) Resee Cups and 1 Ban (on sale for $1.99 – .75 q). I had $10 RR expiring soon so I used this to pay for my order. Total OOP: $1.16!!! Plus $9 in coupons I will definetly put to great use!

I am fairly new to walgreens and I am really confused why the finese deal is not in my area, Utah. It wasn’t in the ad but I thought it might have been an unadvertised deal, however, they didn’t ring upon sale, and I didn’t get get a RR… Sad!

The Finesse is just the new white bottles Clean & Simple the others are not included.

Has anyone received the Gatorade rebate from
Last time?

Reply

Sam June 21, 2011 at 1:12 am

I would like to do the Gatorade deal with the mail in rebate. However, I was curious if it would work if I used register rewards. Has anyone tried this in the past?
