Walgreens Advertises Come Stack Coupons!

by Christie Bisbee on May 11, 2011

For those of you who continue to have issues stacking a MQ with a coupon from the Monthly coupon books, I want to just point out this ad that appeared in my insert this past Sunday May 8th. You may want to see if you have it in your insert too.

As you can see, this Walgreens ad for Zantac is encouraging you to come in and buy Zantac for $17.99. Then it’s telling you to use the “$3 Walgreens Instant Value Coupon Savings” which is a coupon found in the May Monthly Coupon book AND a $1/1 Zantac Coupon found on the adjacent page in that insert. After stacking both coupons “Your Final Cost” is advertised as $13.99.

Clearly this ad in enticing you to come on in and STACK both a coupon from the Monthly book and a MQ coupon found in your Sunday insert.

You can find more ads like these by clicking on “Walgreens Ads” under Categories along the right column of my site. I suggest keeping these in your coupon binder, just in case!

I did this yesterday but stacked it with the $5 coupon I had printed off their website!! And it was a bonus pack and had like 30% for more! Got it for $9.99 and picked up my free 8×10 from last week to count as my extra item!!

I live in Arizona, and by my house I have 3 walgreens within 10 minutes of me (kind of like a triangle area). Two of the walgreens won’t stack now and the one that I shop at often will still stack. I was just looking at their coupon policy online and they say you can stack, but according to checking out at the two that won’t accept their own coupons as their own, they say they are manufacture coupons. 🙁 Luckily my favorite location will still stack. 🙂

Call the corporate and explain the situation. They, in turn, will call the store manager to explain the coupon policy on stacking.

Thank you soooo much for posting! I’ve always been very polite and tried to explain to the cashier and manager at the Wags near work, but they would always turn down the stacked Qs. Next time I will show them the page…it’ll be sweet victory.

Thank you so much for the post – The Walgreens near my house will not allow stacked coupons and even the Walgreens customer service line was telling me that the coupons could not be stacked. Next time I will bring a copy of that ad…Hopefully that will help!

Thanks for reminding me of this. Our store and the other stores in the area are starting a new coupon policy for the area (within corp guidelines, mostly about limits) and one of the new things was no more stacking from the monthly book. I snapped a picture of this and am showing this to my manager today.

I just dont get why all these managers feel its there need to ensure that us couponers dont get a good deal – They are getting refunded for the MQ and Walgreens is offereing an additional coupon – WALGREENS, not them…. its the COMPANIES CHOICE, not theirs, all they are doing is upsetting customers cause they dont believe in what WAGS is doing… they should be let go for not following the big boss.
