Updates From the Field 1/30

by Christie Bisbee on January 30, 2011

Here are some observations from my trip today that will hopefully make your trip a little bit easier!

ICY HOT DEAL
The Icy Hot No Mess Vapor Gel for Kids is also producing the $3 Register Reward and ringing up $3.99, so that means FREE after the $1/1 coupon! You can purchase this one if you prefer over the adult one.

IcyHot No-Mess Vapor Gel for Kids $3.99
-$1/1 Icy Hot on any – 01-30-11 SS x4/31 OR
-$1/1 Icy Hot, (Exc.1-ct. Back Patch) – 01-02-11 SS x3/31

Total = $2.99, Get Back $3 Register Reward
= FREE!

Also, a couple of you e-mailed me to let me know that you didn’t get the Icy Hot Register Reward when you used the $3 Gold Bond in your purchase.  These are from the same company and both Register Rewards are for $3. So DON’T use the $3 from Gold Bond to buy Icy Hot!

ARNICARE DEAL
The Arnicare printable coupon is a big old beeper. It’s obviously for the right product but it’s coded incorrectly. You can ask your cashier to try manually putting it in.

Another option is to look inside the Arnicare for a coupon, several of you reported finding a $1.50 coupon inside the package that didn’t beep! I was not that lucky but I’ll check another store and see.

SINEX DEAL
Several of you have e-mailed me to say that Sinex did not roll for you today. I am plum of out Sinex coupons and Register Rewards so I could not try it. However, since 5 people e-mailed me today about this I’m going to advise you NOT to try rolling the Sinex!

Happy Shopping! 🙂

The Sinex worked for me at 9:55 this morning. It wasn’t advertised and the price displayed read $6.99. I asked the pharmacy to scan for me and it was $5. I did get a $10 RR for it! I’m also in Texas (Austin area)

oops! i used the gold bond rr and a rr didn’t print for me so the manager just used the icy hot for adults and gave me the rr. he’s a pretty nice guy so it was no big deal.

Was there an icy hot q in today’s SS? I know q’s are regional, but I didn’t even see it listed on sunday coupon preview. I’m hoping I’m just missing it, because I really would like some for my little one who has a cold 🙁 Thanks in advance for your help!

I did the snackerz overage in two stores today. At the first store, I gave the Wags Q second. At the second store though, the cashier had the ad all ready and scanned it first. But my MQs did not beep? Any idea why? I bought 6 and used 3 $1/2 Qs so I obviously got overage.

Also, incidentally I noticed a $2 RR for Capri-Sun priced at 2.99…goes through almost end of Feb. I thought that was a good price for CapriSun 🙂

On checkout at the second store I also got a $2/1 Kleenex MQ and a FREE Lean Pockets MQ…I wonder why I got these? Lol. I bought the arnicare, snackerz and a gallon of milk in that transaction and used a $3RR from Natrol.

I had no problems with any of the coupons today:) Had an awesome shopping trip well over $300.00 worth of stuff cost me oop $18.00 PLUS have $10.00RR Left. Plus, my lady at walgreens is the best if coupons beep or I have to many she just pushes them in for me (and takes me at the perfume counter so I can take my time with all my transactions) Thanks for all the tips 🙂

Jennifer, I also got the kleenex and hot pocket q’s the other day. I bought kraft salad dressing, and kleenex. Thanks for posting the icy hot kids! That will be very nice to have on hand since the winter here seems to be dragging on!

With regards to Jennifer’s post on the KLEENEX and LEAN POCKETS manu. Q printouts:

Like Jennifer, my husband bought the Arnicare, Blink Eye Drops and the Icy Hot No Mess Vapor Gel in one visit. But he did not receive the MAN Q’s for the Kleenex and Lean Pockets.

So, maybe they printed out for Jennifer’s purchase of the Snackerz or milk? I’m going to try it tomorrow to find out; I’ll let everyone know how it goes!

If it doesn’t, at least I’ll have milk to drink with my Snackerz. 🙂

The 1.50 arnicare coupon inside the box beeped for me last night, but I had a nice cashier…

Thanks for the tip about the arnicare coupon. It was inside my box – but it’s just a tiny insert wedged in the back/bottom of the box. I didn’t even see it yesterday.

Thanks for the heads up ladies!! Just be sure to profusely thank all your cashiers. I was lucky enough to have the same nice cashier twice a few weeks ago when I tried doing some other deals. I got the Lysol Hands Free thing for $1 or whatever so I just gave it her since she was unable to find it herself and specifically mentioned it. It’s great to pass on the savings. Enjoy your finds! I’m going out later in the week after the icestorm to do mine. I live in Indy. Thanks!

I heard a new one today. The arnicare coupon beeped and the very nice cashier called the manager over. Out came an asst. manager from another store, whom I had met before. She said and I quote: “when you have an item on sale and you get rr’s back for the total amount, you can not use a coupon. Plus, as far as she was concerned, when an item is on sale, period, you can not use a coupon.” I laughed and said really? That’s a new rule isn’t it? She said no, that’s the way it has always been. I politely said to my cashier, thank you, and I’ll just go to another store where they know actual coupon rules and don’t make them up as they go.
I thought all of you might just want a laugh today. Too funny.

Seriously, I admire all of you Wags shoppers. I enjoy this site and appreciate Christie’s hard work, but I have tried several Walgreens near my home and ALWAYS have some sort of a problem. I don’t think a good deal is worth my time and aggravation. I am always very nice, thinking that will help but it doesn’t. Today I had a cashier ask me if the arnicare coupon was fake. Did she expect me to say yes??? So I went to another store, and there the cashier would not take any internet printed coupons without the manager’s approval. She didn’t even try to scan them to see if they beeped. She seemed to just assume they were fraudulent. When the manager came, she gave me trouble over the 35 cents coupon for Cello sponges. I told her she didn’t have to take it, but I would write a letter to corporate telling them that she was willing to lose a customer over 35 cents!! She pushed it through….lol

After all these stories obout BAD Walgreens experiences, I will add my GOOD story from last night! I was doing the Arnicare and Icy Hot deals and of course had trouble with the Q for Arnicare. The cashier scanned it and said it went through. The total was a bit higher than I thought it should be and I had to use an extra RR to cover it. After I got to the car I checked the reciept and saw that the $2.00 Q did not come off. I went back in and the manager very nicely voided the whole transaction, gave me my RR back and we started over. I love that store!

my local walgreens was out of arnicare today and I asked for a raincheck. The cashier said they don’t give rain checks for RR items on sale, anyone know if this is correct? I have checked the company website and do not see anything mentioned.
