UPDATE – This is printing again!
There is a NEW $2/1 printable coupon for Bic Triumph pens available HERE. The Bic Triumph 2pks are in the ad for $1.99 this week. But keep in mind if you try to use a $2/1 coupon on the $1.99 Bic Triumph it will beep and the coupon will have to be adjusted down.
According to the Walgreens coupon policy, cashiers are supposed to adjust coupons down. However, in my experience finding a cashier or even a manager that knows this and will actually do it is like finding a needle in a haystack.
Amber at Coupon Connections let me know that she also got a $2/1 coupon in her 01-09-10 SmartSource insert (Thanks Amber!). I know in my area it will be a $1/1. If you are lucky enough to have a store that will adjust it down, then YEAH! FREE pens for you! 🙂 If you aren’t and you get the $1/1 in your insert here is another option…
Buy
3 – Bic Triumph Roller 2pks
Total = $5.97
Use
2-$2/1 Any Bic Triumph Roller or Retractable Gel Pen 2pk+ PRINT
1-$1/1 Bic Triumph Roller or Retractable Gel Pen 2 pk or larger – 01-09-11 SS x2/28
Total = $.97 or $.33 each pack
If you only have the $2/1 and they won’t adjust you could only use (2) and would end up paying $.66 a pack.

Fixed.. Thank you so very much!
Yeah, you’re welcome! Glad that fixed the problem! 🙂
Christie,
You are so right about Wag employees and knowing how to adjust a coupon in accordance to THEIR coupon policy. There is one manager at one of my local WAGS who recently told me that an ANY coupon means it’s only for an item that’s above the $$ off; so my Poise coupon (from WALGREENS) for $4 off any POISE product couldn’t be used on a $3.99 item. I don’t know if it would do any good to email Wags because he’s a nice man, but he doesn’t get it!
Sorry, I had another frustrating encounter at WAGS tonite. Lesson learned: don’t go in there when he’s there. It just AIN’T worth the aggravation to explain it the entire time he’s looking at me with this aren’t-I-so-tolerate-of-this-customer countenance.

print and take with you!
In the event that any item’s selling price is less than the value of the coupon, Walgreens will only accept the coupon in exchange for the selling price of the item. Coupon redemption can never exceed the selling price of an item and no cash back is ever provided in exchange for any coupons.
I’m glad to know I have an excellent Wags store and manager.. only had one cashier so far that I refuse to go to now.
Let me ask this. If you give a $2.00 coupon for a $1.99 item and they adjust the coupon to $1.99, do they get the extra penny when they turn the coupon in. My guess is that Walgreens gets the benefit of the extra penny. Why do they care if the customer gets it or not?
Beth Ann –
You know, I assumed that he knew his policy since he seem somewhatknowledgeable about coupons. I think it may be time to catch up with him and show it to him. Thanks!
Melissa –
He’s the only one, along with the young MALE cashier who looked at me with bewilderment, that doesn’t get it (YET)
Rachel –
Because it means changing their basic knowledge of coupons. Know how may people resisted changing their belief about the world being flat?!
I guess this coupon is out of prints already. I got the same message as Beth even though I did click on the “Click here for….” link.
not working for me either.
me either
For the ones that are having problems adjusting the coupons down. I had to call 1800-….. and complaint about not following the coupons policy and all of them are now nice to me adjusting down. They immediately send the manager a copy of the policy. They have called and apologize. I have so many complaints in the same district that the district manager called me an apologize. One get me more time to fix the problem, but now every time I go the 4 of them they have other attitude. So, call the 1800 number, they will listen , gave you case number and if the manager does not contact you, call again to follow up the case and it will escalate to district. Just be patient but they will learn, and I got $25 and $10 for my troubles. I hope it helps. Do not give up.
@ Rachel, the extra penny thing is a good question. My guess is that it probably depends on the cashier and/or manager. Today when I used my coupons the cashier scanned 3 with no trouble but the 4th one beeped. I even warned him about it before he started to ring me up. The manager told him to adjust down the coupon and cross off the $2 and write in $1.99 on the coupons before putting them in his drawer.
@Carmen Your troubles are not worth $35! And companies wonder why they lose money 🙁
In South Florida, the coupons only came in the Sunday Sun-Sentinel, and not the Miami Herald.
The Herald only had 2 Inserts, while the Sun-Sentinel had 3 inserts, 2 Smart Source, and Red Plum.
HTH
@guest in re @carmen. the troubles are worth it.. if they do it to her. how many other people are they doing it to.. obviously corp. knows the rules and passed them on to her local store.. if it wasent this week it would have been next week with the troubles from the store.
I say WTG Carmen!
Yay! I got the coupon this time!
I think its dead again.
No coupon there when I click the link.
