Here are a couple of updates for you from my shopping trip that will hopefully make your shopping trip a better one!
NOXZEMA DEAL
If you are going to buy the Noxzema razors this week (and who doesn’t love FREE razors), here’s a way to make your purchase a Money Maker!
My store had coupons inside the Noxzema Triple Blade razor that could be used on the 4 Blade Razor! So I used my -$1/1 Noxzema Spa Shave 4-Blade Shaver 4-pack, Super Smooth Triple Blade Shaver 4-pack, Premium-Pivot Twin Blade 12-pack or Bikini Shaver 3-pack, Any – 08-08-10 RP on the Triple Blade and then the $2/1 Nozxema Spa Shave 4-Blade coupon from inside the package to buy the 4 Blade razor.
You can actually see the coupon inside the package and on the back it should also let you know there is a coupon inside!

HALLS REFRESH DEAL
If you run out of coupons for the Halls Defense deal there is a coupon in todays SmartSource that you can use. It won’t make it a money maker but you can get (2) of the Halls Defense for FREE in each transaction.

JERGENS DEAL
I had some issues with the Jergens Register Reward deal printing today. I purchased the 25% more FREE bottles, and although the Register Reward tags were right in front of them they weren’t printing the Register Reward.
I remember having a similar problem in the past with a John Frieda bonus size deal so I was really paying attention. I don’t know if this was unique to my store or if this is happening everywhere. So if you try the bonus 25% more pack, pay close attention to make sure your $5 RR prints!

If I had a quarter for each time I refresh this page on Sundays waiting for ‘updates from the field’ I don’t think I would have to coupon any more! LOL! Thank you so much. This is the post of the week that I look forward to the most. 🙂
I know earlier in the month I tried the Jergens deal. When I had both normal size the RR printed, but when I had one 25% more and one regular the RR did not print. So I assumed it was just as you said before, the bonus packs do not work. BTW I love this ‘updates from the field’ post as well 🙂
I have BOGO Halls Refresh coupons (exp 03/11) that I found on a tearpad at Winn Dixie a few months back…wondering if $2 in RR will print….

Candace, only one $1 RR will print even if you buy two of the halls.
Christie, I believe the some packages of the 4 blade spa razors have $1 coupons in them as well.
Nice! They didn’t at my store but I only made it to one store today. I have family coming in so most of the day was spent cleaning! I often think it would be nice to have a larger house until I have to clean. Then I’m happy to stay put! I’ll have to check one of my other stores tomorrow. Thanks Maria!
Are some of the SS or RP inserts regional? I’m in southern Minnesota and bought a few papers to specifically get the Halls coupons to use at Walgreens (the rest of the coupons would be bonuses) since winter is fast approaching (ick!). However, I didn’t receive any in either paper! Why?!
Carrie – Yes, often coupons are regional and there isn’t really a way to know exactly what you’ll get in your paper until Sunday. However, that’s where a coupon clipping service comes in. Try My Coupon Hunter or Ebay.

LOL! I love this update from the field posts too! I’d run to do the deals that I’ve highlighted and come back and check to see if Christie’s back from the field and what goodie she has in store!
I really appreciate and look forward to the updates from the field also. I have to drive over a half an hour to my nearest store, so if I need to make changes to my scenarios I can figure many of them out here before I go—very much appreciated.

I had an odd run at wags today with using the Noxzema coupon from a previous insert.
Anyone running into problems using the “$0.75 Noxzema Product (10/31/10) SS 09/19/10” on the noxzema razors that are on sale this week?
The cashier wouldn’t take the q because it beeped. She called the manager…
Manager- It shows a picture of noxzema cream
Me- Yeah, but it reads as ANY noxzema product
Manager- Well, we wouldn’t get paid if we use it on razors
He then goes and gets a noxzema cream and rings it up and the coupon works on it. So he then considers himself a genius, I guess and thinks that proves that it only should be applied to the item in the picture.
But the attitude was that I was trying to use the incorrect coupon and that didn’t set well with me at all.
I feel the coupon wording didn’t match the coupon coding if it didn’t work on ANY noxzema product as state.
How would any of y’all have handled the situation and/or would you make a point to mention it to noxzema about their wording or with walgreens corp. about the problem?

Belle – Totally not your fault. The coupon says any, in my opinion the manager should have put it through. If the manuf. wanted it just on the cream then it should read as such. I hate the “well it’s not in the picture” argument. Like they have the room to put a picture of EVERY noxzema product?! Grrrrr. (That’s me growling!)
I actually had something like this happen at kmart during their super doubles. I had visine $2coupon -> $4 doubled. It was about $4 shelfprice. Well the coupon beeped and the cashier said, ‘well this only has alergy visine pictured. so it is only for alergy visine and you bought dry eye’ (or something like that I don’t remember exactly what I bought) and I said ‘do you really think they have enough room on the coupon to picture every single type of visine they make on it? I ended up getting my free visine 😉
I couldn’t find the Halls Refresh (in the flavor that’s free) today at the Brookhaven, MS store. Found 2 other flavors but not that one.. Anyone seen them in another part of the store besides with the cough drops?
My store has an endstand with coughdrops on it and they had a bunch on there (as well as the regular spot).

Yeah, I agree the idea that every item that a coupon covers would be pictured on the coupon is absurd. Then when the manager rung up the cream and the coupon worked you should have seen how smug he was about it…
SO I have now emailed Noxzema and Noxzema shaving to find out if the product would/should have been covered and if the store would have been reimbursed.
I will follow up with Walgreens too.
I know there are good days and bad days with couponing, but I don’t have to put up with the unnecessary bs. *ahem*

The same thing happened to me! She said “Oh no, this is only for noxcema face items and lotions and stuff. I said it states “any”. Well its not coded for that, so I’m not going to push it through, thats wrong……….. Psh, what’s wrong is not let me use a legit coupon!!!

Carrie- I live in WI and I buy the Star Tribune. Their was no SS in my papers. I’m glad to know it wasn’t just my papers. My husband picked up my paper. When I pick up the paper I always check it to make sure the inserts are in there. I have came home before with 2 paper and one of them will be missing an insert. The week before when I went to get the paper I went though 10 of them before I found one with all the inserts. Each paper had 2 GM inserts and a RP, but no SS.
I tried to use the Hall’s coupon from ALL YOU Oct. It wouldn’t scan(it had been in my back pocket) and the cashier punched in the numbers. It beeped. She handed it back and told me I didn’t purchase the item. I LOVE this cashier. She has been one of the best I have ever worked with at Walgreen’s. I took her word on it, thinking I bought the wrong kind. When I got home I carefully examined the product and the coupon and I believe I bought the right stuff. Did any one else’s ALL YOU coupon “beep”?
Yes, mine beeped but I used it on the sale a couple of weeks back and could not find the product exact on the coupon. A couple days later I was back at the Walgreens and they had restocked the Halls refresh and the exact one was there. The coupon did not beep with that purchase…
This happend to me also. I am in northeast Ohio. The manager said the RR is good for the 8 oz. size with 25% more which would be 10+oz. She adjusted something and it worked.

…I finally heard back from Noxzema…Well it is now owned by Alberto Culver? I got a response by email-

Then today got a letter from them by mail with two coupons. One coupon is for a free noxzema FACIAL product value up to $5.50 and then a $1 off coupon for a FACIAL product. 🙂
I didn’t pursue it with Walgreens, but I decided to have an overdue talk with the SM who had rejected the coupon, because he has been very negative lately. I am glad that I did, it cleared the air and things have been better. *knock on wood*
