Thanks to the fabulous staff at my favorite Walgreens I got one seriously AWESOME clearance deal today.
My Walgreens (and I suspect all stores) are going to stop carrying the Cottonelle 12 pk big rolls that are 2 tiered (like in my picture) and instead they will be carrying the 4 tiered packs (pictured on the front page of today’s ad). So, to make room for the new packs they need to get rid of the old packs.
My staff let me know that they were in the process of putting the old packs on clearance for 75% OFF and would I like some? ARE YOU KIDDING?!!!! Cottonelle is in the ad for $5 each today so that meant $1.25 for a 12pk of toilet paper! PLUS there is the register reward deal this week for $3 RR WYB (1) 12pk of Cottonelle and (1) Cottonelle Fresh Wipes!
I really got lucky that I was in the store when this happened. They had a total of 10 cases (4pks to a case) and when I left there were only 2 cases left! I wouldn’t run out to try and find this deal but certainly keep an eye on the old Cottonelle 12 pks in your store. If you are lucky enough to find them on clearance…

1 – Cottonelle 12pk on Clearance for $1.25
1 – Cottonelle Fresh Wipes $3
Total = $4.25
Use
1 -$.50/1 Cottonelle Toilet Paper PRINT
Total = $3.75, Get Back $3 RR

If your store has the kind of 12pks I’m talking about, I’d just keep an eye on them. Eventually they are going to need to get rid of them to bring the tall skinny roll deep 12pks so just check whenever you are there. I was SOOOO happy!

Just ran to Walgreens since its a block away. The whole isle was empty. saw the cottonelle 12 pk signs but not a pack in sight. They did have the new 12packs you were talking about in the front of the store. But none of the old.

Wow how can they just go 75% off right off the bat? The store I work at, when we clearance something I believe it’s usually 25% off max, and it normally sells during that time. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen anything 75% off :O
We sold all of our cottonelle before it got a chance to hit clearance.
It DEFINITELY pays to be nice to the employees. I’ll often give coupons for free items to my favorite cashiers and it’s worth it just to see their faces light up. For as much crap as we couponers think we take, I’m sure it’s nothing compared to what they deal with everyday.

I was pretty excited! And honestly if it had been 25% off I think it would have sold but I think they just needed to make the space like ASAP.
Cottonelle isn’t my #1 toilet paper choice but at that price… who could say no! And it’s literally money flushed down the toilet anyway. 🙂 And I’m in FL.

LOL My store had them at 50% clearance last week before the RR add came out. They were sold out last Friday. I did get a few packs then.

Mine are still $5.00 too but they were located by all the other clearance items. 🙁

Wow…you are lucky. My 24hr store did not have any. Iwill keep checking. By the way I was very nice to the cashier as she coughed all over everything and put my items into a bag then handed it to me! ;{

Still $5.00 in St. Louis too. Hopefully they go on clearance soon, just received a free tub of cottonelle wipes coupon in the mail. Wahoo!!!!
Okay – soooooo disappointed! My store already had the new Cottonelle out (stacked 4 high) and no old ones on sale. Furthermore, I didn’t get a register reward for my V8 or V8 Fusion – Finally, the coupons I printed for what I thought was V8 was actually $1/2 V8 Fusion. I did also have the $1/1 V8 Fusion as well. THEN – I forgot to show the in ad coupon so the mgr had to refund me a dollar. Guess what, in my next transaction, me and my cashier forgot the stinking in ad coupon AGAIN!!!! I didn’t notice it ’til just now. I am beyond annoyed. Also, when I asked why the V8 Register Reward didn’t print out, she said (wait for it) B/C I USED A COUPON. I nearly wept. So I whipped out the sales ad showing the Schick picture with the register reward and telling us to use the coupon in our Sunday paper and that’s when she called the manager. The mgr proceeds to tell me that yes, you can use a coupon and get the Register Reward, but you can’t use a RR and get another RR. Now, at this point, I would usually go into my schpiel about being from different manufacturers, etc, but I just said, okay, so no problem with my getting this Schick, right? Right. Ugh. so upsetting, I ended up having a transaction of $11 out of pocket and I just was not prepared for putting up that kind of dough. Annoyance abound. (Not to mention the customers getting huffy behind me – it’s 2 am, when do you want me to come use my coupons?)
Sabrina – Well you did an amazing job of keeping your cool all things considered! Good for you for whipping out the Schick in the ad! Hopefully this won’t happen again but the last thing I’d ask this manager to do is to ring up the V8 with you paying cash and see if the RR comes out. I will say I have had it happen to me at ONE store where they rigged their machines so if you gave any RR or coupons you wouldn’t get the RR. Obviously I have never been back to that store.
My stores still have lots of these and they are still priced at $5. Will definitely be keeping my eyes on these. Was able to print two new sets of coupons too, thanks for the link!

This deal is already super, duper but it might be even sweeter with the Caregiver’s Marketplace Rebate. I just looked at the form and the Cottonelle wipes apply as well as lots of other items Walgreens has had on sale recently. Have you ever done this rebate? Just wondered if it was legit.
