Grateful Giveaways #2 ZeroWater

by Christie Bisbee on April 25, 2011

Necessity is the mother of invention, ZeroWater technology was developed to solve a mother’s fatigue from dragging gallons of bottled water jugs home from the grocery store. With the only in-home filtered water system that meets the FDA’s definition of purified bottled water, ZeroWater’s patented five-stage ion-exchange filter consistently delivers the only filtered water to measure 000 parts per million of total dissolved solids(TDS).

What does this mean to the average household? Great tasting water that is good for you, with ZeroWater’s patented technology you can have water free of heavy metals (arsenic, chromium-6, benzene, lead, aluminum, chlorine, chromine, copper, perchlorate, mercury).

The Zero Water 23 Cup Dispenser is a great money saving, convenient way to enjoy refreshing and good tasting water. I was able to put the dispenser in my fridge and not have to worry about pulling a huge pitcher in and out, just use the spout to enjoy clean water anytime. Because it’s so easy and tastes so good, we found ourselves drinking more water. It also meant less trips out to the recycle bin with no water bottles to worry about.

You can also use a nifty tool provided to measure the amounts (TDS) in your tap water. While Zero Water will reduce it to just that, Zero, Tap water has been found to be as high as 400 in some parts of the country! And even conventional filtered water comes in at about 115. If you are looking for fresh, healthy, tasty water for your family you may want to check out ZeroWater. Plus, enter “zwmom” at checkout for $15 off a two pack of filters or 8-cup dispenser.

One lucky Wild For Wags reader will win a prize pack with ZeroWater 23 Cup Filter Dispenser and an 8pk filter refill pack valued at $120

Entry is simple! You just need to answer the question below by leaving a comment on this site! You can even gain up to 3 bonus entries for doing each additional item listed (just make sure that you leave one entry for each one — up to a total of 4 comments.) As a reminder, comments left on Facebook, Twitter or other posts will not be included.

REQUIRED ENTRY:

1. Let me know why having pure clean water is important to you.

BONUS ENTRIES:

1. Follow Wild for Wags through a reader or the daily e-mail digest HERE.

2. Follow Wild for Wags on Twitter HERE or Facebook HERE.

3. Follow ZeroWater on Facebook.

This giveaway will remain open until 11:59 p.m. EST, Friday, April 29th. Any comments left after this cut-off will not be counted. The winner will be selected randomly and will be notified via email within 48 hours after the close of the contest.

This giveaway is part of the Grateful Giveaways Event being hosted by myself and 11 other bloggers. You can increase your chances of winning one of 12 prizes, by visiting each of them and entering the same way as you did here. You have plenty of time to get to all of them, since the contest will be open for five full days.

EACH of the 12 participating blogs has their own prizes to give away so make sure to enter on each blog for the best chances to win! Use this Spreadsheet to keep track of your entries!

As one final reminder, you will want to check out the terms of the giveaway by visiting the Grateful Giveaways: Facebook page. Just click on the TERMS tab at the top of the page. (Note that by entering this contest, you agree that you have read the terms and are eligible to enter this contest).

Drinking pure, clean water is one of the best ways you can do to nourish your health. Also, bottled water primarily puts a strain on the environment and it actually requires a lot of energy and money to generate and ship bottled water. Another health concern is that bottled water transfers to many chemicals into the water and researchers believe that certain chemicals from the plastic bottles are linked to some cancers…Not something I am comfortable with at all.

We dont drink a lot of water because of the taste from the tap and the cost of store bought! This would mean so much to our family! We WANT to drink water, but go for something from the fridge instead. This would be healthier!

Water is a hot topic in my neighborhood. We are truly in an Erin Brockovich situation with that water is contaminated and causing health problems. People don’t even give it to their pets! Imagine…bottled water for dogs, cats, and even hamsters! To add insult to injury, the water company charges outrageous rates (at one point people had bills as high as $800/month!) and they have the audacity to ask regularly for rate increases. Our community has joined together to fight the water quality and rate issues and we’ve had some successes (and some failures) but it is an ongoing battle. Here is a link to a news report (this happens to be from 2007 but it’s the only link I had handy): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZuG6uPo1RU

I know the winner is selected at random, but believe me when I say that we could really use this! I’ll have to look into buying one.

Our water here has so much clorine in it that you can smell it if you’ve been away long enough to be desensitizd to it (like I was after a trip to the south a little while ago) we don’t drink tap water here for anything that means lugging many gallons of water home every week. I drink 1-3 liters of water alone a day

A body needs water to survive and thrive. Most of us don’t drink enough water. Clean, fresh-tasting water with no toxins makes my family want to choose water over other beverages–you can’t beat that!

Having clean, pure water is extremely important to our family. We are on well water and see purification as a first line defense against contaminates that may seep into the ground water and we may not know about. We love well water, but also the added protection of knowing it has been filtered.

It is very important to me because our local water is literally unsafe to drink half of the time. We get letters every other month or so from the city stating that our water wasn’t treated properly *months ago* and they’re letting us know after the fact. Now most of us all rely on bottled water for drinking since it cannot be trusted to be safe at all times!

My kids favorite drink is water. They would choose that (and do) over pop or sugary kool-aid any day! Sometimes I can smell the chlorine in the city water that comes from my tap….that cannot be good for my childrens young bodies to be ingesting! This would make it so convenient for them to grab a glass or fill up a sports bottle to drink.

My son loves water–to the point that he is obsessed. As a 6-year-old, one of the few things that he gets in trouble for at school is getting out of line to get water from the fountain in the hallway. At night, he grabs a bottle from the fridge to keep by his bed. He drinks it with every meal and carries a bottle around the house AND around town with him.
Another important reason for ME to have fresh, clean, GOOD tasting water (notice the emphasis there), is because I have a slight addiction to Diet Coke. And I really need to get away from it and drink way more water.

I would love to have clean, cold water ready at all times–yum!

As the mother of a baby and a toddler what I put in their bodies is so important to me and what can be more pure than water. We found out last week that our well water is not as pure as it should be, in fact it doesn’t meet EPA guidelines so until we can get a filtration system in place we are drinking bottled water which is not only bad for the environment but costly so this prize would really help us out.

Having clean water to me is important because we have a baby and a 10 year old and I’m not okay with putting just anything in their body. I want to know it’s the best for them that it can be. When it comes to my family, I would rather be safe than sorry. This would also save us a lot of money since we will no longer have to buy Nursery water and bottled water! 🙂
