Grateful Giveaways #1 Snoopy

by Christie Bisbee on April 25, 2011

Our first giveaway will be sure to put a smile on the face of any Snoopy or Peanuts!  The Peanuts comic strip by Charles Schulz that began in 1950 and lasted for 50 years, is as popular as ever. Snoopy has become one of the most beloved comic strip characters, along with Charlie Brown and the whole gang of Peanuts characters. (Lucy is my personal favorite!) Peanuts.com offers all kinds of great updates and information on all things Peanuts and all things Snoopy.

I own a couple Snoopy T-shirts, including the one I received in my prize package. They are super comfy, light weight and perfect for summer (and did I mention adorable?) The Peanuts Collection Coffee Book is the ultimate must have for any Peanuts fan. This scrapbook style book comes complete with reproductions of memorabilia. Housed in it’s very own slipcase, The Peanuts Collection is chock full of reproductions of animation cells, letters written by Charles Shultz, and other insider information sure to keep a lucky fan immersed for hours.

Other Peanuts items included are an insulated lunch bag, emblazoned with the words “Happiness is a Full Tummy”….the Blu-ray of the new Peanuts movie “Happiness is a Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown” (which includes a digital copy)….as well as a beautiful Peanuts figurine featuring Linus and Snoopy.

For anyone of a certain age (ahem!) or for any parent who wants to introduce the great legacy of Charles Shultz to the next generation, this is an excellent collection!

Peanuts Worldwide is giving, one lucky Wild For Wags reader a prize package that includes The Peanuts Collection Coffee Table Book, a Hallmark Happiness is Hanging Out Together Figurine, a Hallmark Happiness is a Full Tummy Lunch Bag and a Blue-Ray/DVD called Happiness is a Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown and a Snoopy T-shirt.

Entry is simple! You just need to answer the question below by leaving a comment on this site! You can even gain up to 3 bonus entries for doing each additional item listed (just make sure that you leave one entry for each one — up to a total of 4 comments.) As a reminder, comments left on Facebook, Twitter or other posts will not be included.

REQUIRED ENTRY:

1. Share your Peanuts favorite memory; be it a comic strip, character or even a scene from one of the classic holiday cartoons.

BONUS ENTRIES:

1. Follow Wild for Wags through a reader or the daily e-mail digest HERE.

2. Follow Wild for Wags on Twitter HERE or Facebook HERE.

3. Go to the FAQ page on Peanuts and then come back and leave a comment sharing something new that you learned about the Peanuts Gang Comic Strip.

Giveaway will remain open until 11:59 p.m. EST, Friday, April 29, 2011. Any comments left after this cut-off will not be counted. The winner will be selected randomly and will be notified via email within 48 hours after the close of the contest.

This giveaway is part of the Grateful Giveaways Event being hosted by myself and 11 other bloggers. You can increase your chances of winning this prize (as well as all of the others on this site), by visiting each of them and entering the same way as you did here. You have plenty of time to get to all of them, since the contest will be open for five full days.

If you haven’t already done so, you might want to print out this spreadsheet to help guide you through all of the entries on all of the blogs.

As one final reminder, you will want to check out the terms of the giveaway by visiting the Grateful Giveaways: Facebook page. Just click on the TERMS tab at the top of the page. (Note that by entering this contest, you agree that you have read the terms and are eligible to enter this contest).

Disclosure: I received the same gift package that the winner will be receiving to facilitate my review. I did not receive any compensation to write this post. The opinions are all mine!

I was introduced to snoopy and the whole gang when I was 4 years old from my grandparents. My passion and fondness for Charles Schultz has traveled through every step of way through my life. I am now 35 and have 3 children and they too share the <3 I have for peanuts. We watch the videos and read my extensive library of comic books through the year. My grandfather passed away last week and as I was in the farmhouse looking in photo albums that he kept himself I found another pose/picture of myself with my Snoopy radio that I received that Christmas. Rest Forever In Peace my angel Grandpa and enjoy speaking with my childhood hero in the heavens.

My favorite memory of the Peanuts is watching the A Charlie Brown Christmas with my brother in our pi’s. My favorite part is when Charlie Brown ultimately gets is a small, sickly looking tree, which is rapidly loosing its needles. But, Charlie can see how much the tree “needs him” .Linus saves the day, somehow able to bring the tree back to life, and make it look much healthier and stronger. But it is when he explains the meaning of Christmas that the “gang” gets the point of Christmas, and what Charlie Brown was trying to do.

Risti April 29, 2011 at 7:44 pm

I adore Snoopy! The best memories are snuggled up in front of the fireplace eating chocolate and reading the comics. My favorite Snoopy t-shirt is fading, must find a new one soon.
