Earlier this week I printed a $2/1 Tone Body Wash coupon making that deal a $1.01 money maker. not sure where the link to the coupon is now or if the coupon is still available to print.
Unless its been reset, the Tone coupon reached its limits a couple days ago. If I can find the link, I’ll give it another try, but I haven’t seen anything new posted about it.

I went to my walgreens to get the scotch tape and 1 of the $1 coupons needed to be adjusted to .99 and the lady said “we can’t adjust it down bc thats coupon fraud!”

Beth, this deal will work but you will have to buy a small filler item as well for transaction #2! You have to have the same number of items as you do coupons! Since you have 2 coupons, you need 2 items! I always buy the $0.15 laffy taffy for fillers! 🙂

Yes it will. You’ll pay $5 OOP on the first transaction, but you can roll the $5 RR to the second transaction no problem.
I’m sorry to say that that deal will not work. Walgreens will not print out a RR on something when you use a RR to pay for that item.
That’s not true Kim. Her transactions will work fine as long as she adds a filler in #2. The only time that it won’t print another RR is if you use a RR from the same company to purchase another one. For example, if you use a Hershey’s RR to buy another Hershey’s product that is supposed to print a RR, it won’t print. Hope that makes sense.
Yes it will – you can roll Register Rewards as long as the RR you are using is not in the same “family” as the item you are using it on – example: if you tried to use a P&G RR to buy a P&G product, you wouldn’t get the second RR.

Can you guys help me figure out how it is that you get the Axe body spray or deodorant for $0.75 after buying 4? I can’t seem to get it to work out that way.
Ok I solved the mystery! – There’s a $1/1 that should have been included from making life better.
$16 – B1G1 (2) = $8 – (2) $1/1 = $6 – $3 RR = $3 divided by 4 = $.75 EACH
But aren’t they 3/$12 before the RR? So that leaves you paying $8 after the B1G1 and then -$3 for the RR so $5 total, divided by 4 equals $1.25 each.
No, they are listed at 3/$9.

Thanks for the great website and the valuable info. I have a question reguarding asking my Wags manager to special order product for me on the upcoming week specials. First, when should I do this so as to be able to get the sales price, secondly, will I still get the RR that come with the product, and is this a big hassle for them or not.
It just depends on the manager if they are willing to do it. I would talk to them about it and see what they say.
It really shouldn’t be a hassle for them and it’s more sales but some won’t do it.
I really really REALLY hope that this good deals are available in NY. The ads here are WAY shorter and don’t even include many things on sale (such as the Dove deodorant and Gillette deodorant that is on sale this week). Items like those are completely absent from the ads… very upsetting.
Laura, our Walgreens is much smaller than the one we get the sale paper for in our Sunday paper. However, as long as we bring the big sale paper with us, our Walgreens price modifies it to give us the sale price. (and it still prints the RR). They said the ad for our store is not as big because it’s a smaller store.

For those of you with an employee/military discount, have you ever had problems having a RR print b/c of the discount? I had a very rude manager at Wags in West St. Paul, MN tell me the RR for Softsoap body wash will not print b/c it’s spend $6 get $4 RR. This has never been the case in the past when it says 2/$X get $X RR.
Of course, using the family discount I cannot be as firm as I would like… 🙁 Will have to call Catalina to verify! TIA

I have the discount and unfortunately the RR for Softsoap is a $ amount trigger for the RR and not a quantity trigger. Catalina has explained to me that on any “2/$x with a RR” deals, that sometimes they program it with a dollar amount trigger and sometimes a quantity. It’s VERY frustrating and I still don’t understand WHY they would ever use a dollar amount trigger (aka why do I need to be punished because of my discount, due to the fact that I would need to buy more in order to get the RR!). The best thing you can do is contact corp, and maybe if they get enough complaints about it, they might finally work with Catalina to get the issue resolved. Most managers around me were nice enough to just re-ring the body wash and give me the RR though. Hope this helps!

I have a close friend that works at WAGS & she does the RR deals all the time using her employee discount. She has never complained that a deal doesn’t work for her because the RR doesn’t print when she uses her discount. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen but using the employee discount, for the most part & from what I’ve seen/heard, does not effect if an RR prints.
I have had the 15% discount for well over a year now and I will 100% back up my prior statement. With the discount and a “get a RR when you buy $x amount”, you have to surpass the threshold AFTER the discount has been applied (just like the F&F discount days).
I can guarantee that sometimes using the discount definitely DOES effect a RR printing or not on 2/$x promotions with a RR. Many of my cashiers have also complained about this same issue to me as well. In my contact with corp about this, Wags has been more than eager to blame Catalina, and I can see their logic in that, however, Catalina seems to be completely unwilling to do anything about this issue either.
P.S. A prime example of this would be the Oscar Mayer items that are 2/$3 with a $1 RR this week which printed just fine for me. Even though I only paid $2.55 for both, it was programmed w/ a quantity of 2 which triggered the RR to print perfectly. And the Softsoap body wash which is 2/$6 did not due to Catalina programming it with a dollar threshold of $6 (which is not reached w/ the discount), rather than a quantity of 2. According to Catalina, there is no obvious way of knowing which way a promotion will be programmed ahead o time, which is annoying to say the least!
So I guess what I’m trying to say is that the assumption that the discount does not ever affect the RR printing is definitely incorrect. It’s hit or miss, really.
I can’t comment on the employee/military discount, but I can agree with a certain rude manger at the Wags in West Saint Paul. He refuses to adjust coupons or item prices so the Q’s will scan and does so with an attitude.
Chrissy and Ashley… Make sure you do the surveys on your receipts and complain!!!!! We get copies of those surveys (the comments) and it really does help. And is you have a comment, please also do the survey. It’s nice to hear the good things too instead of always the bad.
So sorry that the managers you deal with are rude and not helpful. I have an awesome manager! The Walgreens that I shop at is in the “ghetto”!! I say that with a chuckle because my husband laughs everytime I head out there. However, the manager there is super wonderful!! Any time the RR have not printed, they call him, he comes up front rings something else up/re-rings the items, gets the RR to print and then void the new transaction. Always so helpful and sweet. I’m even thinking about getting him a gift for Father’s Day!! They are soo pleasent. Crappy location but wonderful employees!!
Can someone help with this scenario? I purchased tape & body wash that resulted in a $4 RR. I then turned around and bought 2 boxes panyliners 2/$6. I had $4 RR & $1.50 manuf. coupon. Cashier said coupons wouldnt be accepted, I needed to buy something else. why? She mentioned something about taxes, I didnt understand her. I went to my walgreens mid afternoon. I usually am NEVER in there at that time. I ran into a manager that was so rude to me.
They didn’t have any of the deli creations at all, so I looked around for someone to ask if they were getting a shipment in soon (I saw a truck outside). I didnt fine anyone and i waited for 5 minutes. so I then pressed one of those call buttons. She came up to me and I asked her the question, she took a look at my binder, and said no get a rain check.
Then as she was walking away she mumbled something about you XXXXXX coupon people. I didn’t make out the word but I am more than sure that it wasnt pretty. Later at checkout i found out she was the manager. The gillette body wash had rung up 4.99 instead of 3/$10 and i had them look into it. It was the wrong size, my mistake BUT they had alot of them and the spot that they were at, clearly had the 3/$10 signage. I should have gotten them at that price. BUT i didnt feel like arguing with her, cuz she didnt like me to begin with cuz i had coupons.

Regarding the Suave/ Caress/ Dove Men RR deal…. I plan on buying 2 Caress body washes and 2 Suave shampoos. I have a $3 RR from Dove left over from last week. If I use this to pay for part of this transaction will I have a problem getting the new RRs to print? I guess my question is: Are Suave and Caress in the Dove “family”?? Thanks!

Because of all the couponing and Register Reward abuse, yes abuse, the companies supplying them really only mean for each person to get one not many, you don’t even leave any product on the shelf for real patrons who may actually be a repeat buyer when the stuff isn’t free, any way it has gotten so out of control that it is impossible for managers to get their work done because they are constantly being called away for rain checks because of the greedies or so the greedies can get even more, more, more of the stuff they would never ever buy in a normal situation, or their reg rew didn’t print, too many coupons, not enough items, blah blah blah. Walgreens will soon have to pay someone to just be a coupon attendant who only helps coupon queens and makes orders, they will need their own binder just to put all the queens’ names and numbers and what they want ordered this week.
