There are so many possibilities with this P&G deal, especially Sunday when both the coupons from the 09-26-10 and the NEW insert are valid.

I haven’t checked my coupon yet for the full details, but could you buy 4 Secret Deod, 4 Olay Bar Soaps and one Olay Quench Body Wash to equal $30.16, then if the coupon says buy (1) Deod and get $5 off Deod and Bar soap (since the coupons says off Bar) even with only those coupons and the RR you are at .16 for all of it. Would this work? If it did, look at all the filler items you’d already have!
In the second scenario could you pay with a higher RR?
Diana – You could use a $2.50 RR but if you wanted to use something higher you’d have to buy more stuff. Since Wags won’t let you use a RR that is more than your total.
Let’s see if I can do this on my phone. I’m just working with two P&G September inserts since I’m never positive what will show up in our paper.
2 Olay foaming washes $3.58 each
2 Gillette deodorants $3.99 each
2 (2) Olay bars $2.24 each
2 Olay Regenerist facial cleansers $5.19 each
2 each of: $2 q on wash, $2 deodorant, $1.50 on bars, $3’on Regenerist.
Total is $30 less $17 in qs. I think. If it has to be over $30 then replace one wash with one Secret deodorant and use a 50 cent q.
Oops. The Gillette qs are $1 each. Total qs $15.
Also, the trial size Secret didn’t have a sticker by it saying it was included when I stopped by this afternoon. The other ones did.

How about 5 Secret deoderants with 5 of the olay bar soaps using 5 $5 off coupons?
LisaCarol – The trial sized Secret is in there just so you can use another $5 coupon, you don’t need it to reach the $30 since you are already over $30.
Jennifer – You might not be able to use the last $1.50 coupon. The way it usually works w/MQ at Wags is if you have $20 in Olay coupons for example you need to have at least $20 in Olay products. If you have $19.99 in Olay it won’t work. That being said, P&G coupons occasionally will allow you overage into something else. It doesn’t happen frequently but once in a while it will with P&G. However, I don’t want to create scenarios that may not work so I had to make sure that the amount of Olay being purchased didn’t exceed the value of the Olay coupons being used. Hope that made sense! 🙂
Brittany – The P&Gs now say “no more than 4 of the same coupon per transaction”. So I had to keep that in mind when creating the scenarios too. They really want to challenge us! 😉

My issue is today when I tried to use three $3 coupons for Alka Seltzer, it beeped on the second one. SO the cashier read the coupon and it said “limit one coupon per purchase” and they said thats why it didn’t go through. So tonight when I am clipping coupons, the $5 off says the same thing. I am curious to see if this will work!
Christina – I don’t know why it beeped but it’s not because it says one per purchase. If you were buying (2) you were purchasing (2) and you could use (2). If it said (1) per transaction that would be different. You should be ok with the Olay.
Guest – You are buying (4) Olay so you can use (4) of the $5/1 but not the other ones.
Lisa – You are buying (5) Olay and using (7) Olay coupons so you’ll have to drop (2) of the Olay coupons but you could use (2) of the secret coupons if you have them.
I apologize for posting this again but it’s more fitting in this entry.
How does this look? I’m new to Walgreens and I’d like to try this scenario. Do you see any potential problems? Can all these coupons really be used in one transaction? I only had 3 coupons for the Secret deodorant instead of 4.

The Secret coupons are off the Secret, the $5/1 are off the Olay.

I did the P&G deal this morning. I bought 7- Olay 2 pk bars ($2.46 ea), 4-Secret deo ($3.99 ea), 2- 8pk Kit Kat bars ($1 ea). I used 4- Buy Secret get $5 off Olay bars… cpns, 4-50 cents off Secret, 3- $1.50 off Olay bars…., and $5 RR from Alka Seltzer deal.
As usual at the register with cashier and Asst Manager, a debate of using 50 cents Secret with $5 off Olay bars. They read it over and over. The Asst Manager said let’s see but I can’t give you the full amount of the $5 off the bars since the bars are $2.46. I said OK.
My total OOP was $16.31 incl tax. Not such a good deal because I was not able to use the full face value of the coupons. So be aware. I did get the $10RR, so with coupons and RR; $6.31 my final total.

My second scenario worked EXCEPT the foaming face wash doesn’t appear to be included.I substituted a Gillette deodorant and a corresponding $2 Q.
Register Rewards were not printing on some items at my store, so they were issuing gift cards. They issued me one for the Zarbees, however, I was told they would not issue one for the P & G because it had to be $30.00 after coupons to get the $10.00 reward. I know this isn’t correct, but is there something I can show her to prove I am right that it is before coupons? I was told I could return tomorrow to talk to the manager.
I bought 1 Olay Definity moisturizer ($15 on clearance), Olay body wash ($3.74 on clearance), Olay body wash $4.99, 3 Secret Deodorant ($2.79 each), got one free Old Spice body spray with coupon. All this totaled $32. I used another $13 coupons so my net was $19. The RR wouldn’t print out. However, the nice employees at my Walgreens forced a dummy transaction with items they new would work, gave me the $10 RR and voided their dummy transaction. My 10 year old son was embarrassed standing there at the checkout with me, but I walked away pretty impressed with their customer service.

Hi guys, I have a quick question, can you use the secret trial size in the P&G deal from above? I ask because I tried and I spent over $35 on Olay and Secret products and the $10 RR would not print, they said it was because I used too many coupons ( I bought 5 secret trial deodorants and 5 Olay body washes and used 5 $5 off Olay when you buy a secret product + 6.00 RR.
Candice- you can use it but it doesn’t go towards your $30. So just be sure that you are over the $30 without the trial size. You are just using the trial size to be able to use more $5/1 coupons on the Olay.
