I just signed up. No credit card, just your SSN over a secure network. They are affiliated with the Esperian company. I think they make their money by offering credit cards/loan information in advertisements/recommendations. Received my credit score instantly and should get it every month. I didn’t see anything suspicious.
Patty – You are exactly right, they make their income from ads and recommendations which you do not have to accept. If someone for example is given a tip on a lower interest refinance for example, and they end up doing it, I’m sure they get a commission. But it’s all just recommendations, and there’s nothing to buy.
I heard about them on NPR (national public radio) on one of my favorite radio shows Marketplace Money. I REALLY like that they don’t require a credit card or a “free trial” or anything like that. I’ve been very pleased! 🙂
