When your doing this deal, is there any certain way the cashier has to ring up the coupon? I got burned one time on a similar deal with purex.

I contacted my store last week and had them order 38 of the Right Guard & 4 of the Dry Idea for me so I wouldn’t clear the shelves & all 38 of the Right Guard had the free body wash attached. They also ordered extra to prepare for the sale because I gave them a heads up. I also got 4 packs of the Scott paper towels & a cookbook. I had a $10 gift card, so my OOP cost was only $15.06. I saved over $200!!!!!

I love my cashier @ Walgreens. She’s amazing and I’ll only shop there when she’s working. When they are out of stuff I have so much trouble at all my other stores.

38…really?

So I guess your store opted not to follow the new Walgreens policy I was told about where you are only allowed 4 coupons for a given product per person per day?

Very few stores in Florida are following the policy. I was getting my 4 when a customer behind me bought 16. The funny thing is that there was a sign taped to the checkout counter stating there is a limit of 4.

I’ve made peace with the fact that many couponers are going to get as many deals as they have coupons for, which could be up to 20 or more.

I’ve been shopping the new sales on Saturday afternoons for over a year, but now more and more people have caught on to that.

It’s a bit like telling everyone your favorite fishing spot. Thankfully, I’ve learned that life is more than a box of crackers….or free deodorant.

That actually isn’t corporate policy as of now. Maybe the manager or district manager decided they felt like doing that but that is not a nationwide corporate rule right now anyway.

If they each use one deodorant a month, you have enough for almost TWO YEARS! You don’t have to go so crazy, deodorant is free pretty often! I only get two each time there is a deal, and I have enough for a year, so I didn’t even get ANY Right Guard OR Degree this week, won’t need any for a while, but if I got two, it would be plenty.

It’s hard to get excited about free body wash/deodorant when I KNOW that it will be sold out no matter what time I get there. Just a few months ago I didn’t have any problems shopping at Walgreens. Lately, it’s been a race to see which store has items in stock still and it’s just not worth the gas money. Thankfully I have enough of a stock pile to last for a while on most things, but there will come a time when I need to buy more and I just hope this “extreme couponing” is out the window by then.

I don’t get it. If she ordered them ahead, KUDOS to her. She had enough foresight to plan ahead so other customers could still get theirs. It’s the ones that don’t order ahead and still take 38 that’s the issue.

As for the limits, none of our stores are limiting at all. Must be regional.

I agree that it’s awesome she called beforehand and didn’t become a “shelf-emptier”…just wish the stores would all fall on the same page. Fortunately I have a handful of them within a 10 mile radius so hitting two wasn’t too much of a big deal, but the way it was presented by both it sounded like it was a corporate thing (but guess if they received word from a regional level, for their purposes it did come “from corporate”).

Thanks and keep up the great work!!!

i got quite a few of these as well. I hit 8 stores and only took 6 from each. They are great with the little body washes. Each store had at least 60 or more still on the shelves, so no I did not clear the shelves. I wish I could have gotten more but I didn’t have enough coupons.

I walked my butt down to the corner where there is a boys and girls club. This is a rather poor town with few people even speaking english fluently. They were very excited that all the kids there today got to take home a deodorant (with free body wash for some)absolutely free. Boys got right guard, girls got sure (deal from a couple weeks ago). I plan to do that as much as I can…call me a shelf clearer if you will, but my whole community benefits, well neighborhood anyways. I just started couponing in May, so thank you Christie for teaching me wags. Its a great help and I like that I can pass out stuff for free.
