I keep hearing the same complaint from my coupon friends and I also have the same problem with Walgreens in Corinth. They are always out of coupon items. Even if you go in their store on Sunday, the shelves are empty of almost everything that has a coupon. Anyone else have the same problem?

I live in Las Vegas and the Walgreen’s stores are open 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week. Coupon shoppers arrive at the store between 10-11 pm and load their carts so that when it’s 12 am Sunday, they check out with everything that’s on sale. When there’s a limit on items, they bring in the “re-enforcements,” i.e., husbands, children, friends, etc. If you can’t shop at that hour, you’re out of luck. What I usually do is go Sunday morning to the very upscale part of the city where the residents can’t be bothered with coupons. Where there’s a will, there’s a way!!!

Usually for really good deals the shelves around here will be cleared an hour or two after opening. I always try and get there at opening if there are items I want. My store gets shipments on Thursdays, another store in the area only gets shipments on Saturdays.

Have you asked why they are out? I’m wondering if it’s a case of a shelf clearer or if they didn’t order enough etc. You could ask when they expect to get more, i.e. when do they get a new shipment.

Always ask for a rain check. You can then get the item next week and not be competing for everyone for the sale price. My store will give the sale price minus the RR. I have a rain check ready to use on Tampax Pearl from last wk for B1G1 50% off. In no hurry to use them; I only need to before my coupon expires 10/31. Walgreens and CVS are definitely very poorly stocked at times. You can also ad match at walmart for many items.

HEADS UP!

I got my 2 papers today and I did not have the Target Coupon Insert. Nor did I have a lot of the coupons that were listed for the Smart Source & Red Plum inserts. And of course, they were the ones I wanted.

Very, very disappointed. 🙁 So, for those who have yet to buy their papers, beware. I’m in Illinois if that helps.

Hope everyone else is luckier!
