Hi Christie

I read some blogs says that some people have a problem with the RR, they have been told that RR won’t print if you use it to purchase item that will have RR eventhough from different company/manufacture.

I went to Walgreen the other day to do some transaction but before I did it the cashier (it was the Manager) told me that the RR won’t print if I using RR for the transaction eventhough from different company and I asked is it new policy? he said yes. So I canceled to shop and put back all the item i was going to buy.

Before I left, I was thinking hang on a minute he might be doing it because he just being annoyed because I was doing many transactions (4 transaction).
So I decided just buy 2 things and use my RR paid it at different cashier, the RR was printing! thanks God!
so the manager lied to me?
I went to other Walgreen to get the rest items and my RR still printing and rolling.
I just worry that it might happend because to the blog I read it happended to some people, RR didn’t print (they use RR from different manufacture)
Do you know anything about this?

Christie July 30, 2011 at 4:30 pm

Hi Erwina – I have heard so many different rumors over the years that I take everything with a grain of salt. Not there will never be changes, but as far as a huge change that’s already happened… no. Nothing yet. So your manager was confused or is trying to stop people from rolling their RR at that store. (Which is pretty dumb since you’ll just choose to shop at a different Walgreens).

I’d stay away from that store and stick to a friendlier one if you can! :-)

Also, there are a bunch of reasons someone’s RR won’t print so don’t let that scare you too much!

Jackie August 1, 2011 at 9:26 pm

I was actually told something similar today in Winter Park, Fl. I bought the Goody Hair Clips, the Crayola Markers, and a sweet tea, and used a $3.50 RR that I had from the Cottenelle deal to pay for part of it. I used my debit card to pay for the rest. No RR printed at all at the end of the transaction. The cashier said “Well, you don’t get any RR because you used RR to pay for part of the purchase…we’re making A LOT of changes to the policies.” I told her that it was usually only if you used a RR from the same manufacturer, and she kind of huffed, and called the manager. The manager said the same thing that the cashier said. She said they didn’t print because I used RR…AND that you now had to buy all items that would give you a RR in separate transaction. I assumed she just didnt know what she was talking about, but when she tried to ring up the markers and the clips together to show me, no RR printed. She did them again separately, and they printed fine. Odd, eh?

mattie August 2, 2011 at 2:30 pm

I am a cashier at Walgreens and a couponer…the deal with all the confusion on register rewards is because each deal’s rules are set by the manufacturer issuing the coupon (RR are technically manufacturer Q’s) and administered by Catalina. Walgreens store level personnel–including the managers–really don’t know the rules set for each deal. Company policy is to never say “i don’t know”–we’re supposed to say “I’ll find out” but obviously some associates are making up explanations to fit the situation when in reality they have no clue. :)

Kerry July 30, 2011 at 11:08 am

There’s also a sweet deal on the Tide stain release. Buy 3 @ $3.99 each, use 3 $3/1 q from PG insert. Get a $3 RR when you spend $10 or more on these items.

It will end up being a $.03 MM :)

Mary July 30, 2011 at 11:50 am

The $3 coupon is not a match for the size on sale. Will it work, Yes. Is it ethical and correct coupon useage, NO!

amy July 30, 2011 at 2:39 pm

How can you tell what size is on sale?

noemi August 4, 2011 at 4:56 am

is the deal before coupons?
coz i bought several products, and the cashier told me that the total of the purchase must be after coupons before i get $3RR, so i end up paying almost $12 for the products.

Karen July 30, 2011 at 11:43 am

The Revlon coupon is only good at Walmart… walgreens will not accept this coupon

Christie July 30, 2011 at 11:45 am

Karen – If you actually print the coupon – it prints with NO logo so you can use it anywhere. Walgreens will take it as will any store that accepts printed coupons.

Jackie July 30, 2011 at 12:48 pm

@Erwina, I don’t know what is going on either, but I tried to use my RRs to pay for items that also had RRs and they did not print! I ended up returning everything and the cashiers had no idea why they wouldn’t print out. They were from different companies as well. I was hoping it was a problem with that wags.

Dianne July 30, 2011 at 12:55 pm

When does the Walgreen’s August coupon book come out?

Allison July 30, 2011 at 2:01 pm

Regarding the Pampers deal:

I am planning on using (2) $2 off Pampers coupons from the 7/31 P&G. Does anyone know a creative way to use the $2 off Mfr. coupon on next Pampers purchase that prints out with this deal. Could I use (2) $2 coupons and also use the $2 coupon that printed out + 1 filler, or will it not work this way?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Amanda July 30, 2011 at 5:16 pm

The last time they had this offer I was able to do 2 diff transactions. So here’s what i did

trans 1 – 2 pampers with 2 coupons. The $2 off thing printed

trans 2 – 2 pampers with 2 coupons. Also used the $2 off that just printed.

Now after trans 2 ANOTHER $2 off printed (which I wasn’t expecting) This happened about 2 months ago. So it worked for me and I’d ASSUME it’s be the same for you :) Good luck!

Ellie July 30, 2011 at 2:17 pm

I have a number of gillette BOGO free on mens body wash that expire 7-31-11. I notice that Wags has it BOG 50% off. Can I use two of the coupons on two bottles?

Amanda July 30, 2011 at 5:19 pm

I tried this on shampoo. They had a sale B1G1 50% off and I had BOGO coupons so I got 2 shampoos and tried to use one of my coupons and (of course) the register beeped! The cashier tried to type it in and it still wouldn’t go. So if you want, try it…but I’d assume it won’t go through.

Parker July 31, 2011 at 10:51 am

You would have to get 4 items to use 2 BOGOF coupons.

Natasha August 1, 2011 at 9:28 am

I used a BOGO for the Gillette men’s body wash on the “buy one get one 50% off” sale and I only paid 2.50 for both washes. You can use one coupon on the each pair. I did a second one with the same sale but this one was for BOGO Old Spice Body wash/deoderant and again paid 2.50 for both!

Domenik July 30, 2011 at 2:21 pm

FYI! If shopping in Indianapolis: All walgreens in indianapolis are going through renovations, so with the new registers u must do all adjustments, like in store coupons, price adjustments, and voids before adding manufacture coupons. Just something to know to help ur shopping trip move easier!

Michelle July 30, 2011 at 2:26 pm

The Walgreens Aug. coupon book should be in stores tomorrow, 7/31, but you may have to ask cashier b/c sometimes they keep them behind the counter, not out front with Sunday ad. The same coupons are also available on their website though here:

Renee August 3, 2011 at 4:14 pm

Thank you Michelle! I had no idea that these were available.

Melissa July 30, 2011 at 5:19 pm

You have Keri Lotion listed in your RR deals above, but I do not see this product in the Walgreen’s ad. Is it an unadvertised deal?

Christie July 30, 2011 at 5:27 pm
Jennifer July 30, 2011 at 8:50 pm

On the pantene deal 2/$7 if I use 1-$1 off coupons and a coupons for a free product will it still print me out the register rewards? Thanks!!!

Tina July 31, 2011 at 11:09 pm

I did that deal tonight and the coupons came off fine, but the “free product” coupon only came off as $2.01, because the 2 products ring up as “2.01 and 4.99″. Too bad, I was hoping to get the full product value of 3.50 taken off as this was a free product coupon. But yes, my catalina coupon did print out fine!

krazymoa July 31, 2011 at 11:51 pm

How are you able to get the $1/1 Pantene

Tammy July 30, 2011 at 10:13 pm

A month back while shopping in Dollar General I found some Ragu Q’s for $1.00/1. I grabbed a few of them and even though they do have DG’s name on them~ they are in fact MC’s. With Wags starting a sale tomorrow on Ragu 2/$3.00, this is going to be a sweet savings. The only problem is the Q’s expire tomorrow, so I will be in Wags tomorrow getting me some Ragu for .50 a jar. :)

Amy in Pcola July 30, 2011 at 10:34 pm

Can we use the Crayola Wags calendar coupon on the markers like we did on the crayons this week? Thanks!

Amy in Pcola July 30, 2011 at 10:36 pm

Never mind….that wouldn’t make sense b/c I’d have to purchase two to use the coupon and only get 1 RR. Sorry.

amie July 31, 2011 at 12:56 am

I should be able to do this:
Transaction 1: cottonelle deal (get 3.50 rr)
Transaction 2: Pampers deal (use 3.50 rr from cottonelle / get $3.00 rr for Pampers)
…and do each 1 more time for a total of 4 transactions, right? Just wanted to make sure this would work.

Andrea July 31, 2011 at 2:16 am

FYI… I just got back from Walgreens (24 hr). The regular raisin bran is NOT part of the 4/10 $5RR deal this week. :( Bummer because it’s my fave cereal and I had 4-$.70/1 MQs. The Q’s weren’t working and the price ended up being $5.29 each! YIKES!

I was able to use my MQ’s and RR’s and store Qs for everything else and my RRs printed fine. I think I got a pretty good deal. Got 6 bottles of Head and Shoulders, 4 packs of Cottonelle, 2 packs of Crayola Markers, the Goody hair clips, 6-11 cent folders and 2 packs of reeses for $14 PLUS got $4 in RR for next time. :) Had to do 5 transactions but there was nobody else in the line. There was a lady buying pantene and I gave her my $3/2 coupons, she almost cried (she had twin babies with her!). Happy to help other people out :) ALso left 2 $3/2 Q’s by the pantene for the next customer.

Cathy July 31, 2011 at 6:06 pm

I do that too. Yesterday, I went around putting coupons that expire today by the items they were for. I figure someone might really need a coupon I’m not going to use.

Lindsey August 2, 2011 at 11:30 am

I call that being a Coupon Fairy. I love it!

Andrea July 31, 2011 at 2:18 am

Also, does anybody know of a store (walmart possibly) that will honor the raisin bran deal and Rr deal so I can get my cereal for $.70/box? I thought I read somewhere that a store (I think it was walmart) honors the after RR price. Thanks!

Elaina July 31, 2011 at 3:52 pm

Some Walmarts honor the price after RR but some do not. It just depends. You can call yours and ask them. =)

Eye-sis July 31, 2011 at 5:02 pm

My coffee-mate coupon printed with no numbers on the barcode. Both of them, when i tried it, it was when i realized and they are no good. I have coupon for the coffee-mate bliss but it is not included. bummer!

Cathy July 31, 2011 at 6:02 pm

I bought the 2 Head and Shoulders for 8. It rang up 1 at 5.99 and 1 at 2.01. So using the B1G1 only took off 2.01 not $4. So even with the extra $.50 off 1 and counting the 2RR I had to pay 1.75 each. So are other people getting them for $1 each. They won’t let me do 2 coupons for off 2

Tina July 31, 2011 at 11:11 pm

That’s what mine did too, but I used a free Pantene product coupon and it only took off 2.01- not a full 3.50. Next time, I think I’ll save my free or bogo coups for Target!

Andrea August 1, 2011 at 12:44 am

I just looked at my receipts for Walgreens today… my head and shoulders rang up at 5.99 and 2.01 and with the BOGO it actually did the opposite of yours and took off 5.99! SO I got an even better deal than I thought I did three separate transactions. I just looked again… the first transaction it took off $4.00 but the other 2 it took off 5.99. Sweet deal!!

Jessica August 1, 2011 at 5:22 pm

I was just wanting to let you know that the coupons for the Free Pantene products can via snail mail this past week. I had ordered them for myself and 3 other family households. I offered to pick up their products at walgreens for them since they were $2/7 with the $2RR (they deducted $4.99 for the freebie) making them $2/2, I went back and forth with this deal and the Crayola Markers and Hair Clips, getting all this essentially free with the RRs!! I bought 16 bottles of shampoo and conditioner, 2 bottles of scope, 1 tube of toothpaste, 2 packages of markers, 1 package of flossers, 3 packages of hairclips, 2 candybars, 5 folders for $12.59 OOP and came home with a $2 RR!!! I turned those free coupons into money makers!! Great deals at Wags, once again!

angie August 2, 2011 at 1:24 pm

Does anyone know why the extra $$ off coupon would not print from the diaper deal? I bought two packs, used two coupons, and got the RR, but not the other one? Anyone know why OR how to get it since I was supposed to? Thanks in advance! :)

Kelli August 2, 2011 at 11:19 pm

Every time I have tried to do a deal with a dollar amount threshold for a RR or coupon, it does not print. Something about using coupons in the purchase messes up the register’s ability to recognize how much you spent, even if the total after coupons still meets the qualifications for the RR or coupon. My Wags manager is awesome and will always ring up my stuff again without coupons in a fake transaction to let my RR/coupon print.

Kelli August 2, 2011 at 11:21 pm

My pampers coupon in the infant care book specifically says it is a manufacturer coupon good at Walgreens. Has anyone actually tried using it in the manner described in this post and had success with it scanning as a store coupon?

Christie August 3, 2011 at 9:21 am

Kelli – these have been out for months and months and have been used in this way.

Kelli August 3, 2011 at 9:43 pm

Good! I was going to try it tomorrow but the wording on the coupon had me worried.

Lesa August 3, 2011 at 10:41 am

Had to share my “Cereal Steal Deal”!!! I went into walgreens today a little bummed because I had NO cereal coupons! But, I went ahead and got 4 boxes of cereal anyway with NO COUPON :( I bought 2 boxes of Special K with berries, 1 box of Frosted Mini Wheats, and 1box of Smart Start. 4 for $10 with a $5 RR not bad. When I got home I noticed that the Smart Start had a Try for free offer!!!(Mail in rebate) My walgreens receipt rang up the box of cereal at $2.99! So, I got 4 boxes of cereal for $2.01!!! Keep your eyes peeled for those “Try Free” Kelloggs Smart Start boxes and if you have coupons you can do even better than I did! Happy shopping!

I trying to get some clarification on something I had seen on another blog. I do not want to attempt this deal unless I get confirmation that this is okay(ethical) to do.

Huggies Wipes at Walgreens!

Huggies Wipes (3 Ct. Refill Packs), $7.99
$2/1 Coupon Walgreens August Coupon Book
$2/1 Coupon Infant Care Book (Walgreens)
$0.50/1 Huggies Baby Wipes, exp. 8/13/11 (SS 7/17/11)
$1.16 ea. after Coupons!

According to the blog when asked about using 2 Wags Q’s, the response was:
Walgreens Official Policy states that they accept “All Applicable Walgreens Coupons” which means they will take multiple Walgreens coupons!

Can you use a Wag Q from the Aug book and infant book on 1 item. Thanks in advance

HI ALL!! I normally get AWESOME Deals and have no real issues..however heads up the Walgreens Coupon for the $2/1 Kotex products details that its good for 36ct Tampons not the 18ct so the U by Kotex that are on sale for 2/$7 CANNOT be used with this and the 36 ct tampons are 8.56 ea..so you can only score this 1.50 each deal for Pads ONLY..boo for me! I did however notice this is a misprint in the ad..hmmmmm wonder if I should argue with the Manager..I mean 1.50 a box is quite the deal!

OH and is anyone having a problem with the Magnum coupon??? My wag could scan there but the manQ would scan for the Single Ice Cream bar…(although my awesome manager overrode it I have planned to get like 10 or so for special treats..) anyone else have this issue??
