I didn’t realize you could combine Walgreen coupons like you did on the Colgate deal. I’ll be interested to see if my Walgreen’s will balk at trying that.

How does the Colgate come out free if you can only use one manufacture and one walgreen’s coupon? They are each for a $1 off so wouldn’t you pay .99?

Julie Smith January 29, 2011 at 11:03 am

Is there a RR deal on the Colgate to combine with the coupons?

Reply

Courtney January 29, 2011 at 11:06 am

There’s a $1 RR when you buy Colgate. I was trying to figure that out too.

Christie, thank you so much! I’ve been following your blog since around October of last year, and I’ve actually become really good at couponing at wags. I know some people have stores that aren’t so coupon friendly, but at mine, they are always really excited at the deals I get! When the coupon book comes out at the beginning of the month, they help me to test out if the coupon will go with an item. For example, with the 6ct Childrens oscillococcinum vs the coupon for 6ct oscillococcinum. I always buy the items that help them out, the special buy items, and they always help me out too. Now, because of the instruction your blog has given me, I’m able to look at the ad for next week, or sometimes the week after that, and I can search up coupons, or look through my organizer and prepare deals and scenarios by myself. Your blog has helped me so much, so for that, thank you! 🙂

Oh, a Register Reward on Colgate! Well, that makes it clear! Thanks, all!

Don’t forget there is a $2/1 cottonelle on redplum.com

Reply

Janie January 29, 2011 at 12:57 pm

Barb, that q is gone. 🙁 It was gone in around 10 minutes. D:

No guys, there is no RR on Colgate! Both walgreens coupons work on this item. So, use 1 mq and both Walgreens coupons to make it FREE with $.01 overage.

Where are you finding the $2 cottonelle coupon on redplum?

Reply

Mose January 29, 2011 at 2:49 pm

It’s legal to use 2 Walgreens coupons on 1 item?

Reply

Christie January 29, 2011 at 2:54 pm

Mose – Copied and Pasted directly from the Walgreens Coupon Policy

When purchasing a single item, Walgreens accepts one manufacturer coupon and applicable Walgreens coupon(s) for the purchase of a single item, unless prohibited by either coupon offer.

You can read and print the Walgreens coupon policy HERE.

Wags Q, Diabetes & You, Winter

Is this a book? or newletter that you sign up for? Thanks!

Reply

Christie January 29, 2011 at 6:35 pm

Joy – It’s a magazine you’d find in Walgreens. You can read more about it HERE.

Mose – LOL, I don’t think you’d ever see that many different Walgreens coupons for the same item. Even 2 isn’t that common but it does happen. Sometimes they don’t both work but in the case of the Colgate the diabetes & you coupon was working with another Walgreens coupon, so my guess is it will again.

Mose January 29, 2011 at 5:47 pm

Cool! Can you use say, 6 Walgreens coupons on one item?

Reply

I printed the Thermacare, too. Looks like it’s limited to 1/person but you can do more than 1 per household if you just enter in another member’s info.

Does anyone know if I bought the Colgate today at $2.99 and used a manuf. q for $1/1, can I go in tomorrow and get the extra $1 from the Feb. book?

Love this website! Unfortunately, I live in Kansas City and so a lot of my prior planning is wasted when I get our local ad and it is filled with points rather than RRs (KC is a test market for a point system Walgreens is trying out). This point thing really is NOT cool. Wish they would give it up.

Question. I noticed today my store, has a lot of buy 1 get 1 50% off (ie Axe, Gillete, etc). Does it make sense to use my buy 1 get 1 free coupon? Does the register take off the cheapest one?

Reply

esther January 31, 2011 at 9:25 am

For the Herbal Essences, I have the BOGO and a $1/2. Can I use both of those? I see in the coupon policy it says you can use two coupons on a BOGO deal, but not sure about that combination…

Reply

Christie January 31, 2011 at 12:05 pm

Hi Esther – You can use a B1G1 and a $1/1 but not the $1/2, since it applies to 2 items. Hope that helps!

esther January 31, 2011 at 12:58 pm

bummer! thanks!

Reply

Kory Kipfer January 31, 2011 at 9:39 pm

Joy, It really depends on the cashier. In my experience, they usually take off the cheaper one as free, making it useless to use the coupon on a BOGO 50% sale. HTH

Sorry for this question…I am a newbie here and to walgreens!

I was curious if the following deal was something that is unadvertised…regional..or what because I could not find any signs in my store and the manager did not know…

Get $4 RR WYB Gillette Venus or Fusion ProGlide Razor System $9.99
-$4/1 Gillette Fusion Proglide Manual or power razor- 12-26-10 PG x1/31
-$4/1 Gillette Fusion ProGlide Manual or power razor -01-30-11 PG x2/28
= $1.99 EACH

Thanks for your help!

I was wondering where you get the Diabetes and You coupon book at Walgreens. I bought the Colgate today but did not realize I needed both store coupons so I paid .99. The sign said the price was 1.99 but that was probably th price after the store coupon I am guessing. I have the Feb book but not the Winter Diabetes book. Thanks!

Karen February 4, 2011 at 2:07 pm

The Colgate deal is a real hassle. I got 3 tubes with 3 MQ’s, the IVC Q and the Diabetes Q. They balked until I explained the coding. Then the Diabetes Q beeped; the register said “Not in File”. The mgr. hand-entered it, but only once for $1 instead of 3 for $3. If you don’t like tough transactions, I’d avoid this one!

Reply

Christie February 4, 2011 at 2:32 pm

Karen – It sounds like the Walgreens coupons weren’t coded in your stores computer. It sould just scan with no issues at all. You may find a very different situation at a different store.
