On the Almay deal – I had trouble with this one last time. Register beeped, and the store wouldn’t let me use the $4 on the one that is the half off. Anyone else have trouble with this one….?
Is this the part of the coupon policy I should show them?
Sale Items

Walgreens will accept manufacturer coupons for an item that is on sale.
In the event that any item’s selling price is less than the value of the coupon, Walgreens will only accept the coupon in exchange for the selling price of the item. Coupon redemption can never exceed the selling price of an item and no cash back is ever provided in exchange for any coupons.

—meaning they will or should adjust it down?

I think they changed their registers in the last month or two… coupons that used to have problems don’t anymore it seems like. I guess we’ll see tomorrow when I try..

Doesn’t make sense… but that is how I read the policy as well.. it actually works better for me if they do dummy down the coupon as I get an employee discount and it messes up some of the deals sometimes…

You can do a buy one get one free. and use a $3/2 just fine and they don’t say hey.. you can only get 1.50 off…cause the other one is free

I had trouble with the Almay coupons, I got 4 of the facial cleansing pads, but the scanner would only take 2 of the 4 coupons. The cashier said it was because it was a bogo 50% off. One rang up as 5.99 and the other 2.99. Anyone else have this problem? Also, be careful of the Revlon lip stick with RR. I bought a peach, it didn’t print a RR. We went through several before we found one that would print the RR. It was Mauve I believe.

Add Nivea shave gel to your trip for a moneymaker. They are advertised bogo, but they are also cheaper (mine regularly $3.79 on sale for $3.03) and get 3000 points wyb 2. Use the Facebook $3/2 to make $2.97 on two 🙂

I went ahead and tried it – – no issues on the Almay and I did the package towelettes, the tubs, and the little qtip make-up wipe things.

Colgate coupon only scanned for the green flavor.

7up TEN and the other TEN flavors were 99-cents a 2L with a 55-cent coupon on them making them 44-cents each.

I had 2 coupons yesterday that would not go through. Both were thoroughly legit. One said it exceeded the price of the item, which it didn’t. I wish they would get their stuff straightened out, it’s getting old. They did put them in by hand, I have to give them that much (but some Walgreens won’t do that).

That’s what happened with my Colgate ones today. So they had to adjust the price of the item.

The last time the Almay coupon was $4/1 and the sale was B1G1 50%off, the store I shopped at reduced my coupon down to cover the cost of the 50% off item, it upped my out of pocket slightly, but with the points it was still an excellent deal, so you may have to tell them to adjust the coupon down on your items in order to use all of your coupons.

You know what kills me on the “adjust the coupon down” issue..I’m guessing that Walgreens makes money on this deal with the coupon clearing houses. They are going to send thru the coupons as they are printed, and get the full reimbursement, so I think they should be giving the consumer the full coupon, even if it goes over their price of an item…we can’t help that they are pricing items below printed coupons!!. I’d like to be proven wrong, but really doubt they get reimbursed less than the face value.. I know on the “get it free” coupons, they’ll write in the price, but not on those that they adjust down….Would like to see if Walgreens will comment on this somewhere, or prove me wrong.
