If I redeem my points for this offer, can I still earn the 5000 points? I am asking because this offer is different from other typical offers,i.e. Buy $10 and get 2000 points.

You can. When it’s a quantity deal like the buy 2 get $5 points, you can spend points and still earn points. It’s the threshold deals like, spend $20 get $10 where you won’t earn if you use points.
