Your picture for Purex say buy 1 get 2 free, not buy 2 get 1 free which is how it is listed. Can we use that many coupons with 4 being free?

The deal is buy 1 get 2 free–check your local ad, it should be there too. And yes, you should be able to use that many coupons bc walgreens corporate coupon policy allows usage of coupons on free items. Their coupon policy can be accessed online on the walgreens website. Last time they had this deal, I was able to use coupons on all 3 bottles with no beeps.

Yes. It is buy 1 get 2 free. I picked up 6 this morning using 3 of the $1/2 coupons. Happy day.

And also…I bought 2 Cottonelle toilet paper that was on sale and I received a $2 Catalina back…wasn’t expecting that. Was that supposed to happen?

Reply

Shelly August 25, 2013 at 5:59 pm

Yes, it is a nationwide Catalina deal. If you buy 3 cottenelle you get a $3RR. Not sure how long it lasts. But with the in store coupon and mf coupon it makes it a sweet deal.

Were the purex coupons regional? I cant find them in my 8/4/13 redplum 🙁

Victor August 25, 2013 at 5:07 pm

You’d think Walgreens would stock up on the purex since they were b1g2 but nope, been to two and sold out

Reply

Jackie August 25, 2013 at 5:27 pm

Victor, get a rain check so when the stock is replenished, you’ll still be honored that price! I always do that when items are sold out!!!

Reply

Sandy August 25, 2013 at 10:33 pm

Agreed. Last time, a coupon came out after the sale and those with rainchecks got better deals.

Jackie August 25, 2013 at 5:25 pm

I made it 2 my local Wags and barely got the 6 I bought. Not only I used three $1/2 mfr cpns, I also used my $2 RR, making my final price $4.58 for all 6 b4 taxes! That $4.79 price is amazing. I know this won’t stay on the shevles long. But next time, I will go a little early! 🙂

Victor August 25, 2013 at 5:41 pm

Thanks Jackie! I was going to do that, i was just venting Because every time they have a good deal Unless I’m there Sunday morning right when they open I can’t get the deal! Some Sunday mornings I just can’t do that lol waaaa

I hear ya and feel your frustration, Victor. I’ve been there and done that. I’ve missed sales in the past too. As mentioned above, obtaining a raincheck can sometimes help you get better deal when it’s on sale again than it was when it was sold out.

I bought 6 of the Purex and used 3 of the $3/2 coupons. no beeps. But I also tried to buy 2 Bic disposable shavers that are on sale at $3.99 and 50% off second one. I had 2 $3 off coupons and the cashier said I couldn’t use the second one. Didn’t even offer to adjust the amount to actual cost. Is it their policy to adjust? I read their policy online but it is confusing to me. Thanks for your help!

Angie August 25, 2013 at 6:39 pm

Helen you SHOULD NOT have used the $3/2 coupon on the purex. You misused that coupon, as it is for the larger bottles

Reply

Jackie August 26, 2013 at 10:20 am

I agree w/Angie, Helen. That $3/2 coupon is good for the 128 oz/54ct or larger only, not the 50 oz bottles on sale. Stores don’t get reimbursed for coupons that are improperly used.

Did anyone have trouble using the $2 coupon on the reach toothbrushes @$2.99, get a $2RR? My register reward didn’t print out, and the manager said it was because I used a manufacturer coupon. She said you can’t use a manufacturer coupon and get a register reward. Is this a new Walgreens policy?

Sharell August 25, 2013 at 9:32 pm

My coupons wouldn’t scan, even the ones in the paper, so they put them in manually but they printed the RR. I didn’t have the coupon for Purex either, but my store was really stocked this time!

Katie August 25, 2013 at 9:33 pm

I used the $2 coupon and got the RR. However, the coupon wouldn’t scan so she had to put it in manually. I go on Sunday mornings on my way to church and there is always the same cashier. . .and she is the BEST!!!

I had the exact thing happen to me. It was at the unfriendly store, so I just returned it.

Reach MQ’s, especially IP’s, always seem to have problems scanning. BUT my MQ’s today scanned fine, but no RR printed. A manager and I tried 2 registers in the store but still nothing would print. So he gave me rewards in the form of points.

Reply

Jen August 26, 2013 at 8:01 am

I also had issues with the $2 MQ for reach, printing my RR. They corrected the two, I used $1 MQ and my RR printed just fine.

Reply

Norma August 25, 2013 at 9:33 pm

They had to enter my reach coupons but I did get the RR. In arkansas

Reply

Hanna August 25, 2013 at 10:20 pm

Don’t understand why Walgreens still has an issue with the Reach coupons… This is what the 4th time they had the sale? I did receive the Reach RR, but it was painful as the last time I had done it.

Reply

Amanda August 25, 2013 at 10:34 pm

This time my coupons for the Reach toothbrushes actually scanned tgis time. My RR did not print but I showed the cashier in their ad about the RR, so she just adjusted the prices on my next transaction to compensate. I was planning on using them that way anyway, so it worked out just fine.

Do the stores ever honor a RR that has been expired by two days?

Reply

Michelle L. August 26, 2013 at 12:12 am

I have a really nice cashier that let me use two that expired yesterday, the 24th. Even though they were expired the RR did not beep.

Reply

Lynn August 26, 2013 at 1:58 am

Honestly? RR’s never beep if they’re expired (my experience), so unless your cashier notices, it can’t hurt to try it. I never say anything and it always works.

Uhm, that would be fraud.

Amanda August 26, 2013 at 7:09 am

I forgot to mention in my post that my Walgreens did not have Kleenex marked at 99 cents and the ad says 85 counts, which of course my store did not have. I had a nice employee that tried all the Kleenex for me to try and find the one that was on sale. It ended up being the 100ct boxes at my store that rang up at 99 cents.

melissa August 26, 2013 at 8:52 pm

Still shows online 4.79 for the gel pacs

Reply

Kim August 26, 2013 at 10:28 pm

They charged me $5.99 too & the sign said $4.79. I didn’t realize it until I got home.

Reply

Jamie August 27, 2013 at 10:30 am

My store has them for $5.99 too. I told the cashier I thought it was $4.79. She checked the sign and said ‘ nope they are $5.99’ Still a good deal but I wasn’t very happy since online it even says $4.79 for 3

As a former Walgreens employee i would like to fill you all in on the reach coupon/ register reward issue. It IS NOT against the coupon policy to use a manufacturer’s coupon on a register reward item. The reason the rewards do not print is because the coupon is the same amount as the reward, so the system thinks that you are trying to use the reward to pay for the item, which I’m sure most of you are aware will not generate another reward. Most cashier’s will manually enter these coupons, which will allow the reward to print. But every store is different, so its really best if you make friends with your regular store management team. They will be your life savers in the end. They can also do special orders for you, so the people who feel the inventory is never enough might consider talking with your managers about that option as well. For the most part, the stores are willing to work with you because it helps their sales

Why was the Kool Aid deal only on Sunday?

Reply

Andrew August 28, 2013 at 8:56 pm

I’m in Southern California. I went to 2 WG today, and the Purex are no longer ringing up @ $4.79, but $5.79 (orig. price). Hope that helps!
