My Walgreens Ad says “Nestle Chocolate 3/1.50”.. How did you get the sale then?

Reply

Christie December 6, 2011 at 1:15 pm

It’s part of the sale. There are even signs up at my store for both the Giant Chewy and regular Sweetarts.

I noticed the coupon in the Wags book has a size restriction. The deal was advertised on the shelf and the sign even advertised the coupon, but the sweet tarts are not the size that is listed on the coupon. I felt guilty buying them lol Did anyone else notice the size restriction on their coupon?

My store had signs up advertising the Sweetarts as part of the sale with the coupon, just like yours did. I don’t feel any guilt buying something that the store is advertising as on sale.

My guess is that they probably intended the coupon to read 1.4-2.1oz since that’s what was included. Regardless, once a store advertises something as a certain price I expect them to honor it.

Darn! my store did not have them up. Oh well

They should scan on sale even without a sign up. I would try it.

At my Circle K there are tearpads for $1/2 Wonka singles, exp. 12/31. I’d calculate that out but it would make my head spin…

Here you go
Buy 6
TOTAL 3.00
Use 3 1.00/2 coupons
scan the .75/3 candy walgreens coupon (inside december book)
TOTAL= -1.50 <– got you self a money maker

You might be able to use the walgreens coupon 1.00/6 that prints out DEPENDS on if it is a walgreens coupon OR manufacture (if its a manufacture you CAN NOT)

SORRY IM NEW, BUT WHAT IS A CATALINA?

Reply

LaToya December 7, 2011 at 1:38 pm

Catalina is actually the name of the service of coupons to use on next purchases that come out of the little machine next to the receipt machine. Grocery stores in addition to Walgreens have this. For example at Albertsons they’ll have a buy this and get a $2 Catalina which is store money to use on your next purchase.

Why do you assume employee should know about an unadvertised catalina deal??

Reply

Jessica December 7, 2011 at 2:49 am

the coupon states sweet tart chewy or original. It will not cover laffy taffy

Jessica December 7, 2011 at 2:47 am

Just FYI you can keep buying six of these over and over!! When I used the coupon I got from my 1st transaction on the 2nd one it still printed another coupon for $1.00 off 6. I ended up buying 18 sweet tart chews and 18 regular!! My son was with me and was so happy and excited to share with his buddies at school.

Anyone know if the CAT will still print out if I start Trans #1 paying with a RR? – thinking it’ll be OK….but has anyone done this?

Reply

Sarah December 7, 2011 at 8:35 am

Yes, I did this deal last night – paid with a RR and still received the Catalina. I bought 6 of the chewy SweeTarts, as well as 6 Snickers Nutcrackers and the Revlon nail polish. Used 2 mfg coupons and the in ad coupon for the Snickers, the booklet coupon for the Sweetarts, and a Dove RR. I did receive both the SweeTarts Catalina and the Revlon RR. It was a great night!

Keep in mind that if you are only buying 6 SweeTarts, per transaction #1, your total is $1.50 So I wouldn’t waste a $2 RR on that (you would lose $0.50 value of the RR).

Reply

LaToya December 7, 2011 at 10:48 am

LOL – that’s exactly what I did was waste the $2 RR. Ah well. I still have an $8 one to play with this weekend.

I did this on the Giant SweeTarts and also the SweeTart rolls…..over and over…2 different stores…no issues. Tried it on the Spree and the Laffy Taffy and it was a no-go. So definitely just these 2 products.

My waggs cashier always looks grumpy but I always tell her how greatfull I am for her and her help. Today I went to do this deal and she scanned my cat. coupon at the time of purchase! I got 12 sweet tarts ( I got a few rolls and a few chewy so I didnt clear a shelf) for $1! I have 12 stockings to do for our adopted family so I stopped there, why clear a shelf when its not needed!

My store only had 4 giant sweetarts left, so I purchased those and 2 bags of chewy sprees, and still got the $1 off 6 coupon.

I rolled several transactions, sporadically, the catalina only printed $0.50/3 coupons. But all in all I spent less than $8 and ended up with 42 sweet tarts, for my boys to take to the kids in their class for the christmas party. Spent an average of 18 cents each. Thanks. What a money saver!!!

My Walgreens had the sign up for 3 for $1.50, and I was able to use the Wags coupon just fine and got my $1.00 Catalina each time and did the deal 3 times.

But when I got home I realized my 2nd and 3rd receipts said $1.08, not .50 plus tax. I looked and for some reason, they rang up the Sweet Tarts as buy 2 get one free…so when they did it that way, I owed a dollar for 6 instead of just .50. And yes, I did use both the Wags book coupon and the $1.00 catalina.

Should I go back and tell them they weren’t rung up correctly?

I got different amounts on my Wonka Q’s. I was using them as filler items and this is how it went on my 6 transactions:
T#1 B3 got .75/5 Q
T#2 B6 got $1/6 Q
T#3 B6 got $1/6 Q
T#4 B6 got .50/3 Q
T#5 B3 got .75/5 Q
T#6 B6 got .50/3 Q
Not sure if I am going to use that last Q because I think I have plenty (30) to make my live sour…
