Bought 4 pretzel m&m’s and 1 blistex, used 4 $1 off cpn for m&m’s and 1 $2RR from last week, paid $7 oop.
Then went and bought 1 Brachs Candy Corn, 1 Gerber Graduate little crunchies and 4 Ben and Jerry’s, used 4 0.55 cpns, 1 $2/2 wags for b&j and my 5RR and 2 RR from 1st transaction and paid $1.55 oop.
Less than 9.00 dollars, not bad.

I’ve been rolling the M&M RR into the Hyland’s meds. For 4 bags M&M’s, 2 boxes jello, and 1 Hyland’s I paid $1.39oop and was left w/a $5RR!

do you have to have the walgreens Q for the revlon or is there a code that the cashier could just input into the register?

Reply

Brandon September 18, 2011 at 5:42 pm

Unfortunately the Wags Q in the 7/24 SS only has a barcode so there’s no code to be given 🙁

Reply

ali September 18, 2011 at 8:01 pm

The code for the $2.00 off Walgreens Revlon coupon is 5829. It is not on the coupon, but someone else mentioned it, so I asked the cashier to try it and it worked. I have the actual coupon myself, but I want to help out anyone else that doesn’t have it. Also, I think the Revlon BOGO 1/2 off sale is starting again on 9/25, which means that it will be in effect in my store on Saturday. Soooo…on Saturday 9/24, the 40% off, BOGO 1/2 off, and $3 RR WYB $10 will all overlap. (the $2.00 Walgreens Revlon Q expires on Saturday, too.) To sweeten the deal even more, ask your cosmetics advisor if they have the $1.00 off Revlon manf. Q. Mine had a tearpad on hand that they received for the Revlon “Saturdate”. 🙂

Did any one have an issue with the revlon deal above not printing a RR.I tried 3 times and not one printed. Thanks

Yes, I did it and it did not print, but my friend did it at the same time and hers printed. I don’t understand why.

Is this WAGS coupon the same that was around about a month ago or so, code was like 2956 or something?? Or is it in the september coupon booklet??

Reply

Rosy September 18, 2011 at 5:26 pm

Do you have a scenario without the wags coupon…. I can’t find it anywhere?? 🙁

Reply

Brandon September 18, 2011 at 5:51 pm

Without the $2 Wags Q:

Buy 2 Concealers @ $5.99 each = $11.98
Use (2) $5/1 coupons
=$1.98 get back $3 RR

or you can do the first Deal Idea to get the foundation but you’ll pay $4.98 and get back $3 RR, so still not a bad deal.

My wag’s would not let me use there 2 dollar off coupon, they said although it say’s Walgreens only it is still a manufacturer’s coupon.. bummer!!

Does it have to be $10 value AFTER coupons?? I’m a little hesitant about doing the “buy x amount, get x rr” deals since I’ve had mostly bad luck with them.

Reply

Cindy September 18, 2011 at 7:07 pm

You have to hit the $10.00 mark after using the $2.00 wag coupon, then u can start using mfc. Thats the way I’ve been doing it and i get the $3 RR… For example (2) $6.99 items (6) $4.99 items total is $26.35-$16.00 wag cpn: $10.35 then you use (8) Revlon mfc: total $2.36 and you get the $3 RR.

were do u find out about the monthly specials? I did the M&M’s but 2 Pretzel and 2 coconut and did not get RR. Was going to ask cashier why but since it is an unadvertised monthly special didn’t know how to prove my point…

Reply

Jennifer September 19, 2011 at 11:29 am

What size bags were you buying? The store I work at doesn’t carry the coconut M&M’s in the big bags, so I was curious. The RR deal is only for the 9.9 and up I think – somewhere around that size.

Dina September 18, 2011 at 6:34 pm

One of the wags did not have the Hyland’s (there was a spot for it, on the very bottom shelf, cleared out shortly after opening.) The other did have it. I saw it with the “random children’s meds” in both stores – the stuff there is no real category for, like the saline for clearing out their noses, etc.

I found plenty of the Blistex in each of the stores that I visited. Unlike the Rite Aids I’ve been in, my local Wags all seem to have a “lip care section” so you don’t have to go hunting around end caps and tiny little cardboard displays…:)

Anyway, got two Blistex and one Hyland’s. Also used the Tom’s of Maine coupon in this week’s paper for .99 ToM toothpaste.

I did 10 bottles of nailpolish. 9 at reg. price of $4.99), and 1 at reg. price of $5.99. Used 1 of the $2 Walgreens q, and 9 $1 Revlon q’s. $1.50 OOP not including tax, and got the $3 RR. If I would have counted correctly, I should have given 10 $1 man. q’s and paid only $.50 OOP. Still did really well. 🙂

I had luck with these today. I looked at my fav store and they didn’t have any. Then I tried my 2nd fav store and looked in the feminane care aisle and to my surprise they had some. I had (3) $2.00 q’s. So free for me today.

Reply

Yes, I did this twice today (got 6 packages)…they were in the regular maxi pads and were the “thin” Poise liners — at one of my Walgreens, they didn’t have the tag for the RR deal, but they did at another Walgreens. I also had some of the $3 catalina’s…such a good deal!!

I went to walgreens and ALL the revlon stuff was marked at $9.99 (like your picture)…. I don’t get where you are getting the $5.99 and $8.99 prices?

Reply

Christie September 18, 2011 at 8:51 pm

Lucy – did you have them ring it up? The ones labeled as $9.99 will ring up $8.99 (40% off of the regular price of $14.99). Have them actually do a price check for you and you can confirm.

I did the Revlon deal with the concealer with both the $5/1 and $2 Walgreen q. It did not print the $3 RR and the cashier said it was because it had to be $10 AFTER coupons. She said it does that with some manufacturers Even though I do not think this is correct, but it was still a $2 MM. ($5 would have been better!)

Reply

Sharon September 18, 2011 at 9:31 pm

I should have kept reading your blog postings. I see why it didn’t print out a RR now! $10 BEFORE the Walgreen coupon!

Some Wags has one better at the beauty register, not the regular cashier…$2 Wags Revlon Q off EACH item on top of the 40% off. If your Wags has the coupon, it’s even better than the $1 Revlon q that was supposed to be in Sunday’s insert.

My store was out of pretzel M&M but I asked if they had any in the back and they checked but were out. I told the cashier the story and if she would be willing to take them for other ones they had and she said yes. They rang thru!!! I was so glad I asked cause I got the ones I liked!! There are 2 walgreens in town and one treats me like a thief and the other is so nice. I love their store and give them candy every time I go and tell them how much I love them. I gave them mentos this trip.

Hate when customers call cashiers nice for helping commit coupon fraud :/

The coupon specifies that it’s only good on the product mentioned. Yes, the coupon works on other ones… But that doesn’t make it the right thing to do.

Reply

Lorrie September 19, 2011 at 1:00 am

Arcy- one of the wags treats u the right way! Hopefully you’ll figure out which one and change your ways so the rest of us can keep using coupons the legal way! An honest mistake that happens once is understandable, but you clearly acknowledge this to be fraudulent use of a coupon. Go ahead and flag me…..but SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!

Reply

Erynn September 19, 2011 at 4:37 am

You’re right, Lorrie. It’s like stealing candy from a baby!…err, candy from the manufacturer. Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.

Reply

guest September 19, 2011 at 11:18 am

People need to relax. A store giving a replacement item for something not in stock, is not wrong, and definately not coupon fraud. I think it is great when a store is trying to be accomodating, I just wish more of them would be as helpful as the one Arcy was at.

Reply

lorrie September 19, 2011 at 1:57 pm

actually yes it is coupon fraud! Read the description on those coupons…good for 1 bag pretzel m&ms. not one bag of any kind! so no i wont relax. i need to coupon to keep my family afloat during hard times. i do it the right way and dont appreciate people screwing it up for the rest of us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reply

Guest September 19, 2011 at 3:39 pm

Being accommodating by substituting a sale item is one thing, but allowing you to use a different coupon for it is fraud.

Reply

guest September 19, 2011 at 4:12 pm

A store voluntarily substituting one item for another is not coupon fraud. Listen to the word, “substituting”. If it was coupon fraud, then I can assure you that walgreens would not allow it to happen. I have been couponing for many years, and “shelf clearers” and “fraudulent couponing” bugs me like you wouldn’t believe. This however is far from coupon fraud. It is simply using a coupon on a replacement item that the store is allowing. If the store didn’t allow that to happen, then yes it would be coupon fraud.

Reply

Guest September 19, 2011 at 4:28 pm

You’re basically contradicting yourself. If the store didn’t allow it to happen, then it would be coupon fraud? So if they said, no you can’t do that, and she did, it’d be coupon fraud? hahahahahha.

Reply

guest September 19, 2011 at 4:37 pm

That is exactly what I am saying. Hahaha.

Reply

Lorrie September 19, 2011 at 5:33 pm

It’s not the stores right to substitute the coupon unless it’s a store coupon for a store brand. I’m pretty sure they didn’t get permission from m&m mars to do so, therefore……….fraud!

Reply

yvonne September 20, 2011 at 6:32 pm

A couple weeks ago, I bought Safeway brand ketchup cause they were out of the Heinz brand that I had a coupon for. The manager allowed me to substitute for another brand and I was still able to use my coupons. She said that when the Heinz stock came back in, she would scan both and still get credit for the coupon. She didn’t scan the coupon at the time, but rather just deducted the amount from my balance. She said that this was ok. Is that coupon fraud?

Reply

Guest September 20, 2011 at 7:57 pm

It definitely is! Look at it from Heinz point of view, they have to reimburse a coupon for an item they didn’t even sell!!!

Reply

margaret September 19, 2011 at 12:51 am

i got 10 different eye shadows…they had 10 different colors LOL anyways 9 said they were 4.99 regular price, and 1 was 5.49 but they all rang up 3.29 on sale, so they were all 5.49 regular 🙁
then the wags q only took off $18 not $20 and I only had 6 MQ so I was supposed to pay $4.40 oop but ended up paying $8.90 oop…thinking I should go return a couple and get my money back but not sure which one is the one that DIDNT take off the wags q.

Reply

Nicole September 19, 2011 at 9:41 am

Ok I’m very new to this couponing stuff (but thank you so much for your help). I’m just a little confused about the coupons. Like when you have 2 of the $5 off revlon coupons. How do I get 2 of them? Am I supposed to buy 2 sunday papers? (And some other deals list using like 8 coupons for 8 products. Buying that many papers gets expensive?)

And another question – I don’t know if I’m reading these things right. So for the example I cut and pasted below,You are saying to use 1 of the $2 off 1 coupons that were in the July 24 newspaper smart saver coupon section and the coupon expires 9/30. But how does that end up taking off $4? Is there another Walgreens coupon I’m supposed to use?
(1) – $2/1 Revlon Cosmetics, any – 07-24-11 SS Wags Q x9/30 (Takes Off $4)

And in the comments above, people mentioned coupon codes. What are they, how do I use those?

Thanks in advance for helping.

Reply

Anna m September 19, 2011 at 10:27 am

The $2/1 wags q is only for walgreens and not a manufacturer coupon so it will deduct $2 from each item just as if you had one for each item. The code is the code for this coupon. Some walgreens will allow you to give them just the code instead o the coupon but not al.

Reply

Becca September 19, 2011 at 10:40 am

Nicole,

Your are right … you do need to buy a second paper to get a second coupon. At this time they aren’t a printable coupon, so get as many papers as you need coupons. Your second question is about the Walgreens ad from 7/24. Because it is a WALGREENS ad (often referred to as a Walgreens in ad, all you need is one of those for your purchase, even if you buy several items in a purchase that match the in ad coupon. After the cashier scand your ad, Walgreens magical computers multiply the in ad coupon by as many matching items you have in that purchase. If you have 2 Revlon items in your purchase and the cashier scans your Walgreens in as coupon, it will take off $4. If you have three, in your case, Revlon items, it will take off $6. And as an extra bonus, the Walgreens in ads don’t count against your coupon count. By now you know that if you want to use manufacturer coupons, you can only use one per item. So if you are buying 2 Revlon items, you can only use 2 manufacturer coupons (the ones you’re getting from the paper inserts)But with these BONUS in ad coupons, it means that you can use regular manufacturer coupons on your same purchase as well as the Walgreens in ads, and only the manufacturer coupons count against the number of coupons you can use! They are like a little Wags gift!

I went to get the revlon deal at my Walgreens today, however the $5 coupon would not work on the concealer – only the foundation. I asked her to void the transaction and I took my coupons back and left to regroup. It clearly says $5 off any age defying product. But the machine said none of product purchased when it came to the concealer. Anyone else have the same thing happen? Should I try another walgreens?

Mayra September 19, 2011 at 1:26 pm

Lisa- I just did the Revlon deal this morning here in Columbia,SC using the $5/1 coup on the concealer. I bought 2 concealers at $5.99 each and used 2 $5/1 MQ. The coup went through without any problems and the RR printed just fine. I wonder what could have happened?

Mayra and Kat: Thanks so much. After reading your responses I decided to try another Walgreens – and it worked!!! Yay!! Thanks so much!!!

It depends on the items you purchased. They may not have come up to the $10 spending requirement AFTER the Wags $2 Q was deducted.
For example. I would have had to purchase 4 lipsticks @ $4.59 = $18.36, LESS the $2Q (4) = $10.36 meeting the “spending” requirement of $10

Reply

Dena September 19, 2011 at 12:59 pm

is the $5 coupon regional? my paper didn’t seem to have one.

Reply

Penny September 19, 2011 at 2:15 pm

The foundation is $15.99 at my store.

Here’s a nice MM on the Revlon:

buy 3 of the concealers = $17.98, less $6.00 WAGS cpn (3x$2) = $11.98 (so it’s over the $10 mark)
Less 3x$5 mfr cpn= $15.00

$3.02 MM + $3 RR = $6.02 MM!!! Just make sure you have something to eat up the $3.02 overage.

Reply

Madison September 20, 2011 at 12:47 am

Has anyone done it this way and got the $3.02 overage? I know that some registers will automatically adjust the wag’s q so that you don’t get the overage even it you have other items to absorb the overage.

Reply

Veronica September 21, 2011 at 5:44 pm

So I went today to score on this revlon deal, and sadly, after 4 attempted transactions, it didn’t work.

I tried using the Wags coupon code – $2/1 which did take.
However, using the concealer and foundation, the $5/1 coupons would not work with the wags.
When I tried to use the manufactuer coupons only, the first $5/1 coupon took, but not the second? I am very confused.

Could this have been a machine error? She said that even after attempting to override, it wouldn’t let her do so.

I am going to try another Wags tomorrow – hopefully better luck.

Reply

Chris September 21, 2011 at 3:25 pm

So for this deal, we need to give the Walgreens coupon first in order to get the deal and RR? I thought we had to do it the other way around usually? Thanks in advance!

Reply

Amanda September 22, 2011 at 2:14 am

I always give my manufacturer coupons first and then my Wags. I’m not sure if there is a correct way or anything, but this works for me without any problems. Hope that helps
