Just got back from doing this deal! Just a heads up though….the manufacture’s coupon is beeping. My cashier pushed them through but she wasn’t happy about it.

Unfortunately I don’t think this would work. The in-ad coupon for 2/$3 has a limit of 4, so #5 and #6 would ring up as normal price (whatever that is). Someone please correct me if wrong.

I work at Walgreens and unless something has changed recently, all the Hot Pockets will ring up the normal price and then when the coupon is scanned, an amount will be deducted for all the Hot Pockets making them $1.50 each; not just the first four. That’s the way it’s always been. We have limits on the products, but don’t enforce them unless someone is shelf clearing. It would take so much extra time to actually enforce every single coupon limit. The computer scanner would have to do it for us, and for now, that isn’t happening.

i did it today and last night-no problem. I was buying 3 at the time, and another point, I got ham&chesee AND pizza one only. According to my “friendly”cashier, she informed me that somehow deal does not work on philly chese ones. One of the Wags Q will not go thru.
I did not try this, but I took her word for it, and skipped my favorite kind.

I dont understand how this is supposed to work because you have to scan the in ad coupon which takes off roughly 1.50 for each hot pocket you buy and that shows up as a wags coupon so if you try and use the $1 off 2 from the walgreens book it wont take it since you already took off a walgreens coupon

“When purchasing a single item, Walgreens accepts one manufacturer coupon and applicable Walgreens coupon(s).”

You can sometimes stack Wags Qs and the above is from their coupon policy, Walgreens coupons is plural.

Make sure you do MQ first then Wags Qs. Good Luck! πŸ™‚

It works πŸ™‚ Just did the deal yesterday!
My cashier had to call a manager b/c it wasn’t accepting my RR I was using. Manager scanned them in a different order (in ad coupon, mfr coupon, wags coupon and then RR) and it went through no prob! πŸ˜€

Thanks Lindsay for the heads up on the coupon sequence. My fav cashier scanned in that order and nothing beeped!

I wasn’t worried about shelf clearing. I meant the in-ad coupon actually states “Limit of 4” so technically you should only get 4. Not sure how sophisticated the machines were to recognize only 4 are allowed to be $1.50. Guess I’ll have to try and see.

When an IVC says a limit of 4, that is a ‘cashier imposed’ limit. The register has nothing to do with it. ‘Most’ Wags cashiers will not give you ANY problem with 4, 6, a dozen.

wanted to let you know about a deal i found in my area.

they had only 3 of the hotpockets so i brought up 3 of the lean pockets to get my six. the lean pockets were ringing up at .75 each! i have no idea how it ended up working out but it was a super great deal! i ended up going back and doing another transaction. i got 3 more lean pockets for $2.25 total then used the $1 off wags book coupon which took off $1.50 because i had 3 not two so i ended up with 3 boxes for .75 total!!!!! i went to another wags in my area to see if they had the deal there too (for my mom) and they had them in stock but they were ringing up the normal $2.99 there. its in a different city so its probably a regional thing but its worth price checking in your area! πŸ™‚ it made the deal even that much better for me! crazy πŸ™‚

Just got back from the store and tried to use W’s 2/$3, $1 off 2 plus $1off 3 manufacture c on 6 hot pockets. The clerk wouldn’t let me use 2 wags coupons – both 2/$3 and the $1 off of 2. Ths manager stood right there and said no, only one or the other!!!

Reply

Janine August 24, 2011 at 6:33 pm

Oh I forgot, the clerk read on the $1/2 w’s coupon that is says “not valid with any other offer”. Its frustrating with the inconsistencies between stores!!

Darn I hate working! LOL! The coupon ‘is no longer available’………. πŸ™ I love these, just bought 4 with a $.50/off coupon and had planned to buy more before Saturday…. Oh well, I guess it’s only 50 cents difference πŸ™‚

If you have a Bi-Lo in your area, they are on sale there for 2/$4. Use the 50 cents coupon which will double plus the wags IVC Q as a competitor for .50 OOP

Deana Smith August 25, 2011 at 12:37 pm

JBC, how will this work? If they are 2/$4 that’s $12.00 to start with, then minus the walgreens ad @-$3 bringing it to $9.00. Then minus the .50cents on 3 boxes bringing it to $7.00..how is that a good deal? Am I adding wrong here??

Has anyone tried this on the Lean pockets?
