Is this a new Just for Men rebate or is it the same one they had out last year?

Hi, I don’t know if this is everywhere or not but I had the BOGO for the Suave lotion and body wash. The lotion was $3 and body wash was $2. When I got to the register and used my coupons it took off $3 on each coupon so I got all 4 products for $4 plus my $3 register reward which made it about 25 cents each. I also wanted to say since I’ve been couponing Walgreens has become my new favorite store. Before couponing I would look at the circular but would think how expensive they were. I never figured I could get such good deals on health and beauty by using coupons. Thanks for all you do and for bringing us coupon scenarios to get the most for our money. It takes some of the worrying out of the process although I still get very nervous at the checkout worrying if the coupons will ring up right and if I put the orders together right so all my register rewards print, then people giving you dirty looks cause you’re holding up the line, the cashiers getting frustrated, and making sure I have enough fillers, etc. Shwwww!

Camille June 18, 2011 at 9:27 pm

The register also automatically took $3 off the $2 body wash for me.

It did for me too, and I pointed it out to the cashier and she said that she was not going to fight the computer and that she would just keep it at $3….I was not going to argue with her for giving me $1!

If you have more then 1 transaction and there is anyone behind you then the best thing to do it to do the first one and let someone go. Today because I had 2 transactions I did my first one and then let the entire line go and then I did my last one. Yah it took me an extra 15 mins to check out but no one was mad and frustrated and the cashier and manager were really nice

I’m the same way. I don’t think I ever went into a Walgreens before I started couponing. I just thought stuff was too expensive. Now if I had my choice it would be the only store I shopped at. I took a couponing class and they said CVS was the easier of the two to shop at. I couldn’t disagree more. Who wants to keep track of a card and worry about limits and all that. I don’t think Walgreens coupon policy is difficult at all. Pretty much you buy something get the RR and you buy something else that isn’t the same product manufacturer you just purchased. What is difficult about that.

Sean June 18, 2011 at 8:04 pm

It can be a little intricate. For instance, 1 coupon per item. That is unless you have a coupon for $1/2. It attaches to two items. Coupon cannot exceed the price of the item. Unless you bring the coupon policy, you can almost guarantee that. And it is not as simple as don’t buy the same product with an RR or you won’t get another. If you buy a product from the same manufacturer printing an RR of the same value, you won’t get another. So I can’t use a $5 RR for Tidy Cats cat litter to buy Dove products if they are printing a $5 RR or Lean Cuisines if they are paying a $5 RR. I think you can get burned during the learning process, and that can be frustrating. Once you get it down though, it can really pay off!

Haha! That really sums it up! I try to keep my purchases small and have built up my confidence that way.

I was wondering about the Walgreens Infant care booklet, are you only allowed to use the coupon on 1 item, or will it take the $ amount off all items that are associated with it?? I have Huggies coupons from the company that would make the diapers AND the Wipes a great deal, but I only have 1 Walgreens coupon for this.

Reply

Brandon June 18, 2011 at 8:01 pm

Almost all Walgreens store coupons will take the amount off of each item. For example, if you have a $2/1 diapers store coupon and you get 2 packs of diapers, the coupon will deduct $4 when it’s scanned. Also, the cashiers don’t have to collect the store coupons so you don’t have to clip them out of the book and you can reuse them again and again.

flo June 19, 2011 at 5:52 pm

not anymore my store takes the coupons now which they never used it. they said corp. policy has changed and they need them..sad too

Amie June 18, 2011 at 9:46 pm

Just and FYI: The Huggies diaper coupon in the Infant Care booklet is for the “big” pack and didn’t work on the jumbo pack at my store. I was only able to use it on the wipes. It may work on the box of Huggies diapers, but I don’t know since it is often a better deal to buy smaller packages. I’ve been to some stores that scan and return the coupon since they don’t need it and some that keep it. The coupon will multiply in accordance with the number of items you buy.

They are spotted by many of us at the pharmacy area where they might have a literature rack or a table(that’s where I found them) where people wait for their RX.

I found mine a few months back on display at the cosmetics counter. Then I got a second one in the mail from American Baby magazine just last week! The subscription to American Baby is free.

They won’t work at my store either. The Big pack is NOT the Jumbo pack….or whatever the wording is. too bad, really would have been a good deal.

Last night I stopped at our two Walgreens in town wanting to buy more Walgreens brand diapers. Found 1 pack on the shelf. when i came to the register to pay, I was told that they, according to Corporate office, have to redeem my coupon from Infant care booklet. When I asked if they have any booklets, the cashier said “No, we had to get ours at the other store” (I was lucky to get one long, long time ago). She also said that they are NOT going to get this booklet at all because they had lots of troubles with it, they cannot enter coupon codes anymore, and they must take coupons at the time of use. If I wanted more, I should buy them on EBay, she said (!). According to this employee, someone took lots of those booklets and sells them of EBay.Now they are hiding all other booklets behind the counters. In short, I decided not to waste my coupon on 1 pack of diapers. Anyone else heard a story like this at their Walgreens? I never had problems like this at our stores: cashiers would scan a coupon and give my booklet back to me or just enter the code. Now both stores saying the same story, so it must be true?????

Reply

Christie June 19, 2011 at 1:50 am

You might have a district manager telling his stores this but no it’s not necessary because there is no place to redeem them. They’d be taking them and throwing them in the garbage at the end of the day. And to tell you to go buy them on Ebay?! Seriously! There’s nothing wrong with actually doing that but I can’t believe that was the response you got!

Wow Christie you were up late answering messages! You really are dedicated! Are you a “night owl” like me? Thanks for your help.

Last week I bought the Wal-fex and gave the coupon code (without having the coupon) to the cashier. She entered the code manually. No problem whatsoever.

Some rebates will give you the after coupon amount. I haven’t done this rebate so I don’t know if you’ll get the pre or post coupon price. I’d rather you be pleasantly surprised than disappointed!

I went this morning to do both the Garnier monthly RR and the Sparkle/Soft Scrub/Renuzit monthly RR deal, and I was told they’d both been discontinued. 🙁 I had some RR I needed to roll, so I made do with some other deals (although spent a bit more than I’d planned). Any idea why? How can we tell which ones expire and when?

Thanks!

Reply

Christie June 19, 2011 at 4:13 pm

Emily – did you try it? Or did they try it for you to see if it would print? All the signs were still up at my store. I never believe what they tell me. 😉

Reply

Emily June 21, 2011 at 8:34 pm

Hm, I didn’t actually try it, but all the signs were down and the manager told me they had discontinued it. My Walgreens isn’t exactly known for its customer service, though, so I guess I’ll have to be more forceful next time and ask! Thanks!

Regarding the deal:

*Get $10 RR WYB Applied Nutrition Easy Absorb Calcium $10 (thru 6/25)
-$1/1 Coupon Inside the Box!
= $1 MONEY MAKER

USE: $5 off applied nutrition supplements from the Wag’s June coupon booklet
+
$1 off applied nutrition supplement from Wag’s Answers, Vitamins and Supplements Booklet (located at pharmacy and hanging in booklet holders in medicine aisles). This coupon is reportedly a manu. coup., but, even if it is a wag’s coup, you should still be able to use it (according to wag’s coup policy). I haven’t used mine yet, but I am going today. I will let you know the outcome.

= with coupons + RR: $6 Money Maker!!

I got my typical RR today, but along with it I got a manufacturer coupon for $2.25 of Duracell batteries. It was in color and printed with the RR. Anyone else had this happen and with any other stuff?

I’m hoping to find the Kellogg’s. There was a tear-off card at Kroger’s for a free AARP membership with 3 UPC symbols from Kellogg’s cereals (10 oz+). No receipt required, just the UPC symbols. Am looking forward to getting this for my mom, maybe even grandma 😉 if she’s lucky 😉 lol.

I just got back from Walgreens and am a little peeved about the John Frieda deal. I bought 2 of the root lifters originally priced at $6.99 with a store promotion of buy one, get one 50% off. I then gave the cashier 2 of the $5/1 John Frieda coupons. She called over the manager who told me that since the second item was only ringing up for $3.50, he had to adjust the second $5 coupon down to $3.50. This left the total cost at $2 instead of .50 as I had planned. I was highly irritated, but didn’t know exactly what to say to defend the transaction I wanted to make. Is it Walgreens’ policy to adjust the coupon down that way? What could I have said, Chrisitie?! I hate when I have to argue/convince the cashier to push a deal through, it can get so awkward and upsetting.
