Updates From The Field 10/31!

by Christie Bisbee on October 31, 2010

Halloween being on a Sunday this year is making for one crazy day but I did make it out for a quick shop.  Here are some of the things I discovered…

VICKS DEAL
I was very happy to find that the NyQuil Sinex is again included in the Register Reward deal this week! There were no signs at my store but it rang up $5 each and sure enough the Register Reward printed out! So here’s how to have a nice little money maker with these…

Buy
2 – NyQuil Sinex 2/$10
Use
2-$4/1 Sinex Product, any- 10-10-10 PG

Total = $2, Get Back $5 RR
= $3 Money Maker!

OLAY/SECRET DEAL

I had no problem with this deal. I had to adjust a little bit based on what was at my store but all my coupons scanned with no problems. I think this should be a pretty beep free transaction for everyone! In fact I think the only problem you may have is if you have a cashier that thinks he or she is the coupon police and doesn’t understand the coupons or gets confused. Otherwise, it’s an easy great deal!

ORAL-B CROSS ACTION
I am getting really annoyed at my store lately. Again, they didn’t have several of the coupon from the November coupon book programmed into the computer, including the CrossAction coupon. It had nothing to do with the using a MQ or not. It simply wasn’t programmed into the computer at all.  I had a similar problem with Glade last month at my store.  So, not sure what’s going on there.

ZARBEE’S DEAL
On a happy note there was a TON of Zarbee at my store! Yeah! 🙂

I cannot say thank you enough for posting these deals. The Zarbee’s worked great! I did the Olay/Secret deal and was sooooo excited! I’m making gift baskets for my adult nieces and nephews for Christmas and these are perfect! On a hair-brained note, I got over zealous and bought more papers so I could do the deal again, forgetting that the secret Q was from a different week… Oh well, I’ll work it out 🙂
Thanks again!!!

I had the same problem with the toothbrushes. I had a VERY kind cashier who price modified the toothbrushes down one dollar to make up for the coupon. I am headed back out to do the Sinex deal now. Thanks for all you do!

Did you all get the $4 sinex Q in today’s newspaper? I didn’t. Bummer. 🙁

Cindy – No it’s from 10/10 and from 9/26.

Had a horrible time with the Oral B Wags coupon. One store said that I had used too many coupons and so the Oral B Wags one “wasn’t necessary” and refused to even discuss it. Another store after 5 minutes of arguing (and trying the “oh well!” tactic with me, like I was just going to ignore the fact that I was losing $2?) only price adjusted ONE because she said that I got the other one for free anyway. What a pain!

Our store didn’t have the Wags Q either so they changed the price to $.99 to make up for the RR.

I had the same problem with the Oral B but they manually entered it. I’ve found that is I go and check out at the cosmetics counter it is normally younger girls and they just enter in the coupons manually if they beep.

I had problems with the Oral B IVC also. I also checked out at the cosmetic counter and she showed me that is was a different type of oral b cross action toothbrush for the IVC, not the pro-health cross action.

The toothbrush coupon wasn’t programmed into the computer at my store either but the manager just price modified it….love most of the people at my store! Thanks for the great deals!

The same happened to me with the Oral B toothbrushes, the cashier tried to tell me that it was beeping because it was a different kind of toothbrush when I was really getting 2 Crossaction, she called the supervisor, she came in and did it manually but only wanted to do it for 1 because she said I was getting the other for free. I argued because I was right, I said that I was buying 2 toothbrushes regardless of the method of payment so I should get $1 discount per each. I dont know if she understood or just didnt want to spend more time with me so she just entered it again. The down side was that I couldnt pay with any of my RR since she entered it manually, it counted as 2 more coupons and I did not have any other fillers at that moment so I just had to pay $4.86 oop but it included a Zarbee so I got $6 back, hehe!.

Coupon codes are downloaded from coporate, so if it didn’t make into the system, store employees didn’t know about it until someone tries it. Once brought to a managers attn, he can fix it so it will work.

I did the Olay/Secret deal. No RR printed out-the manager said the total needed to be $30 after coupons. He gave me $10 cash anyway but said that those deals only work with the after-coupon total. I called the corporate office and they agreed with the manager. So who is right???

My PG RR printed out last night. Didn’t do the Olay/Secret deal as posting by Christie, but I did my own and it went ok. I had tonnes of coupons as well and my final total went below $30. But… $10 cash is cool too! 😛

I know the cash is cool, but hate to be stubborn about something that I’m actually wrong about. If the corporate office says it has to total $30 after coupons, then why is everyone getting the $10 RR?

I read on another site that the Sinex/Vicks RR is rolling – fyi 🙂 Haven’t tried it to confirm but hopefully someone can!

Just did the Sinex and Zarbees deals today in Central Fla. The manager told me that the “1 per offer stated” language meant I had to do separate transactions. I did 1 Zarbees transaction, used the RR from that on my Sinex deal (along with filler items), and then used the Sinex RR on the second Zarbees deal (with another filler item). I got:
(1) 1/2 gallon milk
(2) Zarbees cough syrups
(2) Sinex
(2) Walgreen’s brand hand soap
(1) oatmeal pie
(1) bottle of Walgreens nail polish remover

Total OOP: $4.34
Got back: $6 RR (from second Zarbees deal)
So it ended up being a MM day for me; hope you all have the same luck!

I did the Olay/Secret deal buying 4 of each & using 4 $5 off coupons & I did get the $10 RR. The only issue I had was a cashier that thought she was the coupon police & grumbled the whole time that she shouldn’t be doing this.
