Walgreens Says Stack Coupons!

by Christie Bisbee on August 15, 2011

For those of you who continue to have issues stacking a true manufacturer coupon with a coupon from the Monthly coupon books, I suggest you look for this advertisement on the back page of the ad for this week. Notice anything interesting?

Right in the ad they are encouraging shoppers to come in and stack the “In Store Coupon” which is a coupon from the August Monthly Coupon Book AND the $.50/1 additional coupon savings in most Sunday papers. The ad shows a final price of $3.50 AFTER BOTH COUPONS.

I know many of you are told at your stores that the coupons in the monthly book can’t be stacked with a manufacturer coupon. As you can see from this advertisement on the back of this weeks ad, these are store coupons and you can stack them.

You can find more ads like these by clicking on “Wags Advertisements” under Categories along the right column of my site. I suggest keeping these in your coupon binder, just in case you need them!

I also have trouble stacking the coupons from the Infant care booklet also, they say its a manufacturer coupon. I say yes thats the verbiage on the coupon BUT i cannot use the coupon anywhere else. Its frustrating!

Funny -my store told me the infant care book was a mfq today so I couldn’t use it with the othe mfq I had. I don’t get it, the infant care book is a wags book. I’ve used it plenty of times combined with mfq’s with no problems. Today it beeped!

Unfortunately, she might not be exaggerating. I went to my Walgreens 15 minutes after they opened. They were already out of the floss, I grabbed the last two expo markers on the rack and the Dove was mostly gone. I walked past a lady that had several (at least 10) packages of markers in her basket and several bottles of Dove. I was able to find the Dove at another store, but they were sold out of markers and none had the floss. The second store I went to had only been open 45 minutes. I had a conversation with the manager at the 24 hour Walgreens near my mom. He said every Saturday night around 1am they get ransacked. They’ve tried to limit people to one of each RR item a day, but he says they will check out at the pharmacy then at the photo counter, then the cosmetic counter and then the front. He said he practically has to chase them around the store. They’re sold out of most of it by 2am. I had this discussion with him a few minutes after a woman was literally yelling at him b/c they were sold out of some things at 8am Sunday morning. She was screaming about it not being fair that they let people come in and buy everything. They were restocked by Tuesday.

I’ve had the same issue at certain Walgreens, unfortunately. I’m fortunate enough to have quite a few in my area, though. I know some people only have 1 though, and that would be a bummer.

I just did this last week & I had no problems. However, I printed the $1/1 coupon from their website, & not the august coupon book. Could they have all been used?

I JUST had a problem with this! They would not let me stack both coupons. It was after I got home that I looked at the ad again and saw that they printed that….I’m mad and I’ll be calling the store tonight 🙁

Is the cat still printing on these when you purchase 2?

I recently went out of state MS and the cashier wanted to take my WALGREEN infant huggies wipe coupon, “I said you dont need the coupon it’s a store coupon, it’s mine from the infant care booklet! Also, they didnt have the Tressame rewards in the system and the manager said I USED TOO MAY COUPONS….I laughed said I never heard of such a thing, he tried (blaming coupons on me) & on the 3rd try he gave me 5 in cash. I had my coupon policy. He tried to tell me the rules, I posted the rules right back.

I wonder if this is why my store had none on the shelf and a sign saying that they would be substituting “real soft” for the rest of the month…?

It’s funny how it says it’s “like paying” 3.50…You are paying $3.50! lol

My only problem is I can’t have more coupons than I have items, so if I’m buying one thing and want to stack coupons I have to buy a small filler to go with it.

technically it’s “LIKE PAYING $3.50” because you’re still paying sales tax from the $5 cost. so if the ad said you ARE paying $3.50 then some people start arguing that the tax should be lower. yes, i cashier… and yes it happens.

Could be that, but some/most areas pay tax on the after coupon price.
