Money Making Calcium All Month Long!

by Christie Bisbee on May 31, 2011

I found this display in my store advertising the Applied Nutrition Calcium Deal as a monthly deal running thru 6/25 with the $10 price all month long!  I’ll be trying this one out on Sunday for sure. That means there should be more stock coming in and more time for everyone to grab this deal.

Get $10 RR WYB Applied Nutrition Easy Absorb Calcium $10 (thru 6/25)

I’ve had a lot of questions about the $5 off coupon in the June Coupon book for Applied Nutrition Supplements. I didn’t post that coupon in my match ups or in my scenarios because I suspected it wasn’t going to work (although I was crossing my fingers in hopes that it would on Sunday morning!). The coupon currently is not working for this product, although it is working for other Applied Nutrition products. I will say the wording on the coupon is rather vague.

Regardless, it’s still a GREAT deal! Remember there is the $1/1 Applied Nutrition Triple Calcium x12/31/13 coupon that I wrote about Sunday. It can be found inside the box along with a whole bunch of other coupons! So we should have Money Making Calcium all month long! WOO HOO! 🙂

I tried this at two different stores. One gave me a $5 money maker, and the other did not. The coupon does not say excluding, it just says supplements, and this is a calcium supplement, but I didn’t feel like arguing that point. Regardless, I only got one coupon booklet from my two boxes…

It will be a YMMV as far as the coupon goes in the June booklet. I opened the box and looked inside before buying it to make sure the booklet was there. 🙂

When u say it worked for you, did the coupon actually scan or did they price adjust it? I had one store price adjust for me on Sunday, but I was wanting to know if it is actually scanning now?

There is a $1 Applied Nutrition coupon in the Walgreens pharmacy coupon booklet that came out a month or so ago. Are those WQs or MQs? That is, could I stack the booklet one with the one in the box?

I bought the Applied Nutrition Calcium yesterday. The $5 coupon in June booklet did beep, and the cashier did not accept it saying its for only those products pictured.

But, I was able to use both: the Manufacturer Coupon found in the box and the one in the Vitamins and supplements booklet without issues. None of them beeped. So, it was a $2 money maker. Hope that helps.

That’s interesting, since both bar codes are the same. I wonder why no beeps. Anybody else try this?

Nice! A $2 money maker is better than $1. I will try the coupon in the vitamin/supplements booklet when my store has them in stock! Thanks for the heads up, Smita.

The $5 coupon in the June book beeped, but my store entered it manually. The coupon states only that it is for supplements, and the word supplement is on the bottom of the box. That argument worked for me with little resistance!

I did the same thing at my Walgreens my cashier just void the transaction and rerung it a 5.00 sale price and the RR printed too. Can’t beat that.

I used the coupon to buy another calcium and it didn’t give me my register reward so I returned the calcium and went ahead and bought it without the coupon…

Two friends have called corporate and were told it ($5 wags) should work on that product. I don’t think the store is going to believe that or call them for you if it beeps though.

The manager at the Walgreens I went to wouldn’t push the coupon through. She knew it was going to print out a $10 RR so she said she won’t do it.

The 5.00 coupon beeped at my walgreen’s as well. Cashier forced it through…didn’t want to but called the manager and got the OK. So 5.00 moneymaker…nice!

The cashier at my local Wags needed to call the store manager over because it beeped on her, but he read the coupon, said it had nothing on it stating that it was only for certain Applied Nutrition product, and happily adjusted the price down for me to $5 – and the $10 RR printed too! I will be rolling that one over for next week! 🙂

dont understand why it works for some people and not for others. not fair, really. either all wags should take it, or none should. 🙂

yay! going to try this! this would be an awesome moneymaker!
Where are those walgreens supplement coupon books located at? My store never seems to have any coupon books but the monthly ones. Can you print them out online like you can the monthly books?
My store makes me hand over those coupons and even the ones in the ad, its stupid because I know they don’t need them unless they are manufacturer coupons.

So if you get your hands on all the coupons, couldnt you turn this into a $7 money maker? the june book, the coupon inside the box and the vitamins coupon?

I used the $1 coupon from the vitamin booklet and it did not beep and the $10 RR printed. However, I think the coupon counted as a manufacturer’s coupon because the RR I tried to use to pay for the calcium beeped.

So glad it’s a month long deal — the 1 store in town was totally depleted of this item. My scenarios went down the drain again…..

It didn’t work for me! The cashier called the manager and he said it wasn’t valid on that item because of the RR.

Christie June 1, 2011 at 5:55 pm

Angela – What didn’t work? I had no problems with the $1/1 coupon and it’s perfectly valid on that product, there’s a big picture on the front of it.

If you are talking about the $5 coupon, that one does not work for the Calcium.

The coupon doest not work for this sale!! Please read the fine print!!! Not valid with any other offer!!! The register reward sale is another offer.

In that case ‘Not valid with any other offer’ would apply to all instant value Walgreens coupons used when a RR prints. It is simply not the case that the coupons aren’t valid because of a RR. They in fact work all the time. That is a weak excuse for Walgreens failure to honor their own coupon. Besides the RR is provided by a manufacturer, not Walgreens.
