Can the points booster be used twice, if I split the transactions up into two that are more than $25 each after sale and Walgreen’s Q’s?

Does a free item count? I’m thinking of the first aid bag, they were out at my store so I have a rain check for a free one. Since they will adjust the price before it totals, this will not go towards my $25 requirement, correct?
