Here’s my Walgreens Shopping Scenario for the week of 12/22. In this scenario you’ll get $10.23 in merchandise, after sales and coupons you’ll pay $3.73 out of pocket, and get back $2 RR, so it’s like you’re paying $1.73 for everything!
The Carmex lip balm printable coupon was available earlier this week. If you have this, you can do Transaction $2, so you can roll your points into the toothpaste. If you don’t have the coupon and can’t do Transaction #2, do not use the RR from Transaction #1 to pay for Transaction #2. It’s the same deal, and you won’t get another RR. If you have points saved up, you can pay for Transaction #3 with those. If you don’t have anything, just stop and save your RR from Transaction #1 for next week.
IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THESE TRANSACTIONS
-) You can’t have more MQ than items! Blue = MQ
-) You don’t have to do these in one day, just pick up where you left off.
-) I always bring some extra fillers with me to the register, in case of an emergency!

Hi! First, thank you for your wonderful and useful website!!!
I have a question regarding Balance Rewards and Register Rewards.
As per the Wag’s rules, BR can buy RR qualifying items and still get the RR. But, RR can’t buy BR qualifying items and get BR points. If this is true all the way, how come on some of the transactions above you paid your previously earned RR to pay for BR qualifying items and you still get the BR points. I am sure I have misunderstood the rules. Would you mind explaining this scenarios? I have a lot of RR and I am not sure if I can use them to buy items with BR and actually earn the BR.
Also, is there an expiration to BR points?
Many thanks in advance and thanks once again!
Johanne
You can use RR to pay for items where you are supposed to points and you’ll still get points. Just don’t use points to pay for something where you are going to get points – because you can’t earn points when you pay with points.
BR points expire on a rolling 36-month basis so you have quite a while.
Thanks very much! Now it’s clear. Thank you for all of your effort! I just started shopping at Walgreens using your deal scenarios and I saved a lot! I did the 25USD get 5USD deal and spent USD 24.8 and got back 25.75 back in RR and BR! Everything for free basically plus I made more! That was crazy!
I went back and did another 25USD get 5 USD deal again but did not get the 5USD back. I used RR that I have gotten back from the first transaction. Is this supposed to be correct?
Many thanks and I look forward to the next weeks’ deal scenarios!!! Yay!!!!!!!
