Walgreens Shopping Scenario 3/24

by Christie Bisbee on March 23, 2013

Here’s my Walgreens Shopping Scenario for the week of 3/24. In this scenario you’ll get $27.72 in merchandise, you’ll pay $5.72 out of pocket (or less if you use a Register Reward from last week to pay) and end up with $1 in Register Rewards and $2 in Points.

So it’s like getting everything for $2.72 or 91% off!

IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THESE TRANSACTIONS

Wanted to let you know that in Western Washington, I received a $5 off of $20 coupon. I was only purchasing the Starbucks offer (.99 get .99 Reward), which I did multiple times…

I found out sad news from my Walgreens today. They will only take one like coupon per trip. Instructions came from the corp office. Hopeful they will change this when they see how much money they will loose from couponers. So, all the gum I wanted did not happen. Those who have a store in their town, will be able to go by twice a day and every day to get around it. But those of us who live 32 miles from a store, will have to rethink the way we shop. I don’t believe in buying what I won’t use, but with buying for my mom and son, only buying one deodarant, toothbrush, etc.. won’t work. I do have 4 stores to chose from, so I could go to all 4 stores then revisit them before going home. A lot of time and work, but still worth it. Thanks Christie for all you do.

To Melissa. Two of my stores let me use more than one coupon to buy multiple like products but told me what was going to happen. One only let me use one like coupon. I am not sure when they will do this. This was just what I was told. The one manager said I could do multiple RR products just not multiple coupons.

Hey…I’m so tired of the number of “interpretations” you get from Corporate. I don’t believe any of them, unless they can show you in writing. So print out their coupon policy and keep it with. We still have one Walgreens saying that you have to take off the value of coupons first, before you can get to the dollar amounts often needed to earn points. Christie corrected this for me saying this isn’t true, but I still have yet to call in to the points rep. BUt this came from the Manager. I think they just pull things out of the air. WHy don’t they just put up a sign with all the scenerios. I bet you could just do separate transactions and you can buy then multiples. Give that a try. Go to the cosmetic counter first to check out and then go to the front registers. The last two trips to Walgreens it has taken me literally 20 minutes to check out very few items because they are so messed up with their registers, and how to take even their own coupons. They need a efficiency check or CVS gets my business as they already go all my perscriptions with the Scripts mess and I haven’t moved back. Shame on them for creating such a mess and making it so difficult to get the deals they promote. .

I had an assistant manager threaten to call the cops if I wasn’t finished in 6 minutes. Store was closing but I wanted to do two transactions after they refused alot of the coupons the first transaction. It took over 45 minutes for them to check me out. I only had about 15 items. The next week clerk told my husband they don’t use the Walgreens coupons, the product has already been marked down. Company definetely needs trained on customer service and coupon policies. Hi, I am new at this, but I must say I am getting very addicted to couponing. I have a quick question for you. Why did you have to split your shopping into three transactions?
