Scenario w/No Register Rewards 10/17!

by Christie Bisbee on October 16, 2010

Here’s a scenario that requires no Register Rewards to start. In this scenario you’d spend $5.60 out of pocket (OOP) before tax and end up with a $2.60 RR, so you’d essentially be paying $3 for $32.35 in merchandise! That’s 90% OFF! Have Fun! :-)

A Couple of Things to Note
*MQ are in Blue. Red are store coupons and don’t count in your total.
*You could take the $2.60 and buy the Mucinex that is FREE after Register Rewards. I like to keep my Scenarios at around $5 out of pocket, so that’s why I didn’t include it.
*You could do scenario 2 and 3 together but for those of you who are new and might feel overwhelmed I broke it out into 2.

on the second transaction #1 (lol) should it be 2 .50 Ricola coupons from the October book? Ive done the math over and over trying to reach .73 with the scenario and I think I finally figured it out..

Just thought id help out all the newbies, like me 😉

No Tiffanny the Ricola is only for $1/2 both the MQ and the Wags Q.
$9.98 (-$4.50) = $5.48 (- $.75) = $4.73 (-$1) = $3.73 (-$1) = $2.73 (-$2 RR) = $.73

Just a heads up. The Q for Nivea mens body wash is only a $3/2 not a $3/1 (at least in my Orlando paper.)

Lindsay – That’s applies to your paper but not for everyone. I’m sorry you didn’t get the $3/1 Nivea in your paper, you can buy it HERE.

I was wondering about the Brah Autumn candy- it is on sale with walgreens coupon for $.99 and this month there is a $1 RR if you buy 2 I think you could buy 2 for $1.98 and get $1 RR back making it 2/$.98?! Don’t know just noticed this deal and thought I might try it!

Thank you Christy, I guess where I am confused is to how the one .50 coupon takes off $1. Do they double?

It’s $.50/1 and you are buying two. With the Wags coupons it’ll automatically take off for as many as you buy. So if you buy 2 it’ll take off $1, if you buy 3 it’ll take off $1.50. Hope that makes sense! 🙂

I’m a WAGS newbie, can someone please tell me if this scenario will work?
2 nivea body wash – sparkle @ 2.5 = $5 use $4 off 2 Q = $1
2 nivea body wash – men @2.5 = $5 use 2($3 Q) = -$1
total = $0 + tax? or will the $3 Q’s be adjusted down?

Thans for your help!

Hello- I”m a newb that got over zealous. Well, I read your blog and the deal worked out great on the blog and in my head. so, I went by the Walgreen’s tonight after school to do the 3 transactions.

Transaction #1 was the correct amount at $4.87. But somewhere something went different on transaction #2. I ended up paying 1.37. (Which I think is a great price anyway.) I followed all the coupons you had listed and the same items. My subtotal was .97 and then .40 tax. (CA)

Did I do it right?

And then the men’s Nivea wash for all 5, I had to pay tax on totaling $1.31. Even though the subtotal was o.oo.

Kinda confused here.

Lynn – Some items might have been slightly different prices at your store. Also, you may have had to pay tax on some items at the pre-coupon price. In my state I have to pay tax on everything pre-coupon. But you did great!

Well, I took advantage of the atmosphere because there was no one in the store. So, I moved onto a #4 transaction and bought the Nivea womens body wash. I bought 6 and used (3) $3/2 coupons and then I tried to use the RR of 2.60 but couldn’t was told I had to have another item. (Duh, filler. Now I get it.) So the gosh darn Fudge Oreo thing was at the register. (In the back of my mind, I kept thinking of the $1/1 coupon I had for that item.)

But, after it worked out I paid $5.60 for the body wash.

So today I spent $14.54 for the following:
(2) Kellogg Miniwheat cereal
(3) Campbell soups
(2) Ricola cough drops
(1) Blistex Lip balm
(4) Coffemate creamers
(6) Nivea Mens body wash
(6) Nivea womens body wash
(1) Fudge covered Oreo
(2) 7-Up (B1G1 coupon)

I think I did ok for a beginner. 🙂
