dulcolax was 8.99 then $8 off then 2 off…still a good deal but not as much overage

Will the $8 off work if you buy 2? Or will the $8 off coupon only work on 1 item?

The Dulcolax coupon only printed a tiny picture of a Ducalax bottle after entering all the info! What a bummer. Can’t do the deal.

I hope it’s not out of prints already!

I noticed in your scenarios that in the deals with coupons used from the Sept Wags coupon book, there isn’t an extra filler item listed for the Q. Does that mean they don’t count the Wags coupons in the total coupon/product rule?

That rule just irks me every single week. Grrr.

What is the Depends Rebate?

I just tried to do the lotion coupon and it said I already had printed it too many times. I never printed it — could it be out of prints already?

Mary – Yes it’s very possible. I used to put up the Register Reward Deals on Friday, I now put them up on Thursday. I do this to give people extra time to print them and to try to help my readers get them before everyone else puts up their match-ups later in the week. So I’d suggest stopping by on Thursday (Register Reward deals) and Friday (for the rest of the ad) to print what you need before some of the big websites put up their match-ups on Saturday and all the coupons disappear!

Diane – The Depends rebate will print like a Register Reward. When you buy depends you’ll get a RR that’s actually a MIR for the full price of the product.

Donna – Correct the coupons in red (Sept book and in ad coupons) don’t count towards your coupon total.

I’m a little confused, when I print the $8/q dulcolax coupon, it’s says it’s good only towards dulcolax balance with a pic of a bottle… does that mean the coupon isn’t good on the packs of tablets?

Stephanie – That’s correct, it’s good for the Ducolax Balance.

Christie –
Thanks for your scenarios – I did Transaction #1 it worked exactly as you wrote it – awesome – now I’m off to do other two transactions. I really appreciate the examples as my brain starts to hurt after a while 🙂

Yeah! I’m so glad when things go well. You can’t anticipate every possible situation but I try to make it as pain free as possible. Like my husband says, couponing is NOT for the faint of heart! 🙂

I’m quite frustrated as this is the second week in a row when I can’t find certain coupons (aka not in my inserts!) This week it’d be both the colgate and dulcolax that I’m missing. Ugh.

Anyways, question: when you say that the IVC for dulcolax will take off $6, is that an automatic discount or would I have to ask the cashier to scan it three times or what?

Christie September 13, 2010 at 10:02 pm

Hi Pete – If you buy (3) and scan the IVC coupon once it will automatically take off $6. 🙂 Try one of the coupon clipping sites. I have to order too and although I wish it was just in my inserts it’s often worth it to me to order if it’s a good deal.

would overages in trans #1 be good to apply to the lotion and toothpaste or this is a ymmv thing

Christie September 13, 2010 at 10:54 pm

Sure, that would be a great idea James! Just make it an even bigger money maker. 🙂

Well, it looks like there are no prints left on the Impruv $2/1 coupon. Too bad.

Thanks for sharing these scenarios! Very helpful. 🙂

I had two horrible visits at two different Walgreens tonight. I went to one and tried to buy three dulcolax (had $3 off, and 2 $8 off and $2 Wag coupon), a box of tampons (had $2 off and then $1 off from Wags book) and toothpaste ($1 off). They refused to do the $8 off coupon. SO then I pulled out their coupon policy and the manager was like you can’t do this. So I said fine, let me do the toothpaste/tampons. Then the coupon for the tampons ($2 off) wouldn’t work. Then the manager said I don’t want to argue with you but you can’t get free stuff at Walgreens. So I left. I went to a different Walgreens which was a few blocks away. Didn’t even try the Dulcolax. Tried to buy just the tampons and toothpaste. So the three coupons worked and then I tried to pay with 2-$1 RR and it said that it was beyond the value of the item with my total being $3.55. I don’t even know what to say. I left with nothing. I am in Las Vegas. I am going to try tomorrow at another one.

Christina – Did you have any other items? You can’t have more coupons than items and RR count as items. Did you have anything besides the tampons and the colgate? You may have needed fillers.

I have to admit the manager saying you can’t get free stuff is downright hilarious. I’m sure it didn’t feel that way to you of course (and I’m sorry you had that experience) but it just shows you how clueless their own staff is! Geez!

That is probably what the problem was. I didn’t have any fillers. I will try it again tonight. I was just frustrated because the manager was so rude and I was just so over it. I didn’t realize the whole not more coupons than items thing. I will get some fillers and report back tonight!

Welllll I tried again. And failed again. This time had a few fillers. They refused to let me use three Dulcolax coupons (they took one $3 and one $8 and refused to even try the third one). So I had her void the dulcolax. Then she wouldn’t take register rewards stating that I had “gotten enough off already.” I was like um you can not refuse to do them. If they don’t work, thats another thing. So I left again, empty handed. I might have to give up on Walgreens!
